Chapter 68: Chapter 65: Recruited a Younger Brother_1
As Li Xiaojie collapsed to the ground, convulsing wildly, Tang Ye watched with great confusion. This scene was identical to when Lanlan and her mother turned into zombies! He watched as the blood vessels in Xiaojie’s eyes were enveloped by a ghostly white "eggshell", until his body slowly stopped convulsing.
Tang Ye didn’t know what happened to Xiaojie. Hadn’t he already become a zombie? Why had he turned like this?
What Tang Ye didn’t know was that Li Xiaojie was not a full-fledged zombie; he only bore a zombie’s exterior while remaining human at his core.
Just as Tang Ye thought that Li Xiaojie’s spasms had come to an end, a red line appeared on his body.
Zha!
Li Xiaojie’s body split in half from the neck to where his belly ends, his organs spilling out onto the ground. The cut meat on both sides began to tremble, slowly forming a row of little blood bubbles.
Splat~ Splat...
The bubbles burst, sharp fangs emerging from the seams. This sight, even for the battle-hardened Tang Ye, was a bit sickening.
After undergoing this grotesque transformation, Li Xiaojie stood up exaggeratedly and began walking towards the evolved tiger.
Tang Ye, as if frightened by something, staggered backward. Just moments before, he had sensed a psychic link with this bizarre zombie, filling him with an inexplicable connection and a strange sense of affinity.
Ya ah... Tsks tsk~
The twisted form that Li Xiaojie had become let out a terrifying scream, its gaping mouth flapping open and closed before charging wildly at the evolved tiger.
Tang Ye stepped further away. Honestly, he didn’t feel like taking on this tiger. Its formidable aura, well-deserving of the king-of-beasts title, felt just as overwhelming as his first encounter with a Level 2 zombie.
Meanwhile, Li Xiaojie’s transformed zombie waged battle with the evolved tiger, biting down onto its forelimb and refusing to let go.
Li Xiaojie, now fully transformed into a zombie, was unrecognizable. Much like a leech, he twisted and writhed on the tiger’s foreleg, his back undulating as if swallowing, seemingly draining the life force from the tiger.
As soon as Li Xiaojie turned into a zombie, Yan Xing lost his point of view.
"What happened? Why did it disconnect? Also, that zombie, it can talk?"
"I don’t know. But it seems like he was captured by it. He must’ve been infected!" a burly man said.
Yan Xing stared at the black screen, deep in thought, then slowly said, "Tomorrow! Let’s bring a few people into Lin City and find that zombie!"
The zombie Yan Xing referred to was Tang Ye!
On Tang Ye’s side, the mass of flesh that was Li Xiaojie began to grow rapidly, wrapping itself around the tiger, almost covering its entire body.
The tiger tried in vain to tear off the repulsive creature, but it was stuck like glue. Its struggles only resulted in a painful tear of fur.
Eventually, it stopped trying to tear Li Xiaojie off and instead started to roll on the ground, attempting to crush him to death. As it rolled, it let out cries of pain, lacking the earlier king-like demeanor, showing signs of despair.
Li Xiaojie, however, was not affected at all, continuing to expand his flesh and cover the tiger until the king of beasts stopped struggling. The zoo became silent.
The tiger that Li Xiaojie had entombed began to shrink, oozing a nauseating dark red secretion, eventually congealing into an unappetizing mass of flesh or, more accurately, a cocoon of flesh.
Tang Ye walked up to the meaty cocoon, wanting to extract the Evolution Crystal from within, but was unsure where to start, so he simply stood by and watched.
The meaty blob breathed in and out, slowly shrinking over time. But even smaller, it remained monstrously large. After about ten minutes, a red line appeared on the top of the meat pile which split irregularly, from which a disgustingly large hand emerged!
Tang Ye watched in surprise as following the hand, a head and another arm emerged. And finally, from the meat cocoon hatched a naked, four-meter high humanoid beast with black iron-like muscles.
It had a mouth on its belly, not the vertical slit from before but rather a horizontal split where the navel would be. Its fierce teeth were exposed even with its mouth closed.
As for the lower body... (That’s too explicit, you can imagine it yourself.)
It stood in front of Tang Ye, towering above him. Even without moving, it exuded a terrifying aura that could frighten anyone.
Standing in front of it, Tang Ye was full of doubt. Somehow, the zombie was showing submissive and respectful signals towards him. Initially, he had wanted to kill it and extract its Evolution Crystal, but now found himself unable to do so.
"Fine, I’ll let you live," Tang Ye rasped, turning to leave. But to his surprise, it began to follow him.
"Hey? Why are you following me? I’m not your father!"
It didn’t respond, just faithfully stood by Tang Ye’s side, seemingly waiting for him to issue an order.
"Could it be because of the psychic connection?" Tang Ye suddenly remembered the sage of the psychic thread from a while ago. A small bit of it was still lodged in its brain. By some twist of fate, he had gained a follower.
"Would it obey me?"
"Come..."
Bang!
Tang Ye tried to tell the creature to punch him, testing its strength. But the moment he opened his mouth, he was blown away.
"I’ll be damned, it’s really true!" Tang Ye mentally exclaimed.
The strength it had just put out was much greater than Tang Ye’s own, blowing him at least ten meters away. After catching his breath, Tang Ye returned to the creature’s side, but before he could speak, he was blown away again.
Tsks tsk!
"Not bad!"
Tang Ye managed to scramble to his feet, feeling a few broken ribs. He now had a handle on how to "use" his zombie underling. You think it, it does it. This zombie didn’t require establishing a psychic connection after all!
"Again!"
