I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 509 - 506: Royal Zombie_1
Chapter 509: Chapter 506: Royal Zombie_1
Qiongli and Bai Xinran were stunned, as were the people around them. Where did all this food come from? He had just gone out once?
Many in the crowd had doubts in their minds, thinking that Tang Ye knew of a place with an abundance of food. However, recalling his formidable strength, they decided not to inquire and could only look greedily at the bag of food in front of Qiongli.
Bai Xinran opened the bag and was also taken aback. "This...there’s so much?"
"Where did you get all this from?" Qiongli asked.
"How else could I have gotten it? I stole it." Tang Ye lied with a straight face, leaving Qiongli with a complex expression.
"You..." Qiongli began to say.
"No more questions. Just hurry up and feed this little one. She’s been bothering me for the entire journey." Tang Ye interrupted.
Qiongli grew silent, her eyes flickering with suspicion. She felt that there was a connection between Tang Ye and Nannan but couldn’t confirm it. What if it’s a coincidence?
"I never thought you would be so charitable."
"Haha, I am a good person." Tang Ye laughed, leaving Qiongli and Bai Xinran speechless at his audacity.
Who has the gall to declare themselves a good person?
After everyone had rested for a night, they discovered that there were only around fifty people left. Not many vehicles were needed, one large truck would suffice!
An older man quietly replaced the burst tire on the truck. Feeling a sudden sense of despair in the group as he finished, he noted the silence. Many familiar faces from their journey were now missing.
Only three days prior, everyone was present. But now...
They were bereaved for those who had been lost. The older man paused to touch his nose, feeling a pang of sorrow. Qiongli also fell silent for a long time.
Perhaps she shouldn’t have led everyone to the distant Yunchuan City. Their journey was no less perilous than the trials of the Monk’s path. It was filled with countless difficulties and challenges.
She wondered how many of them would still be alive once they reached Yunchuan City.
"I hope no one else will die."
She prayed in her heart as she walked in the middle of the road. Removing the necklace with a cross pendant from her neck, she buried it deep into the white line in the middle of the road. She muttered a prayer while gesturing with her right hand over her chest.
"Lord, please bless us all...."
After completing these rituals, she called everyone to board the large truck. There were so few people left that they could all fit into one vehicle.
...
He no longer knew who he was, but he vaguely remembered a character from his name, ’home.’
This character was ingrained in his heart, difficult to forget or dare to forget. A dominant force had devoured many of his memories, leaving only two scenes - one of a city under a resplendent night sky, the other a faded family photo where the faces of the seven individuals were blurred.
As time passed, days blended into each other, these two images flickered sporadically, like a light bulb short-circuiting, casting some light into his otherwise chaotic and dark mind. He increasingly questioned these images.
They were so clear...Who were they? Were they his family?
He looked up at the sky. The atmosphere was tinted by the yellowish hue left by the nuclear explosion. His memory of those two scenes set him apart from other creatures.
A few days later, his fading self-awareness finally gave him some control over his body. He moved for the first time. Examining his species, he chose to depart, to leave the dwelling place of the silver armor zombies.
He walked through a field of waist-high grass, taking shaky steps. The metallic sound of his silver armor against the rocky ground echoed with every step he took. He persisted, the sound of metal against stone reverberating from time to time.
He didn’t know how long he had walked or how many days and nights he had crossed. He was pursuing a place he once knew. A place from his dream, a good dream, a real dream. All he could remember were those two images. Guided by dawn fog and daytime reeds, he eventually arrived at an archway on the highway.
The archway bore three large gilded characters - Jiangcheng City!
"Is this the place? It seems familiar...I am here."
He let out two low growls. His cloudy, eerie eyes seemed to regain a hint of humanity. After crossing the archway, he moved step by step towards the city of Jiangcheng.
It felt like he’d been here many times before. He seemed to know where each road led but did not remember the names of these places. However, he knew his home was in that direction. The memories of the Spring Festival and his family reunion distinguished him from the other zombies.
He remembered... SNAP!
Just when memories threatened to flood his mind, a rope as thick as an arm suddenly entwined his body. He saw a trap door lift, and soon he was suspended in mid-air.
From his elevated position, he could see a group of people in full skeleton armor standing on a nearby building.
"Mayor, we got it. But is there anything unique about this zombie?"
Su Sigui looked at the silver armor zombie hung up high and scratched her head. This was her first encounter with a royal zombie during her post-apocalyptic scavenging.
"It’s a royal zombie."
"Royal zombie, what kind of zombie is that? Is it strong?" Xu Tianyu asked Su Sigui curiously.
Speaking of strength, Su Sigui shivered. Royal zombies were indeed not very strong on their own but they were practically invincible. They could not be killed.
The last time the defensive wall of the Cloud Gorge Base fell, hundreds of thousands of royal zombies surged like a flood, breaking the defensive lines formed by Level 7 newer humans. No one could match up to a single one of them.
Not that they didn’t have opponents, they just couldn’t outlast them!
Other zombies would die if beheaded, their brains being their weak point. But the royal zombies did not have this weakness, they could heal even after their heads were chopped off. Moreover, nobody had ever seen a royal zombie in the last world before the Zombie King attacked the Cloud Gorge Base. It seemed as though the royal zombies had appeared out of thin air.
As the name implies, the royal zombies belong to the Zombie King. They were not limited to the silver armor zombies; there were also demonic sonic royal zombies belonging to the Nightmare Zombie King on the Lan Ou Continent. Others included the evil Buddha and sea demon zombies, belonging to the Abyssal Zombie King and the Northern Zombie King, respectively.
There are four types of royal zombies in total. The other two Zombie Kings were unique and had no associated royal zombies, due to their peculiar formation or birth.
