Chapter 373: Chapter 370 Swarm of Flying Insects_1

It wasn’t exactly disgust, but more like a kind of discomfort originating from the heart, a feeling that couldn’t be easily described.

If it were to be analogized...it’s kind of like watching a movie, where there are scenes of people murdering or torturing others in the most brutal ways possible, which doesn’t seem to affect you much while watching.

But when you watch a real-life murder documentary on some social networking site, you start to feel discomfort, which might linger for several days or even a lifetime, in severe cases!

That’s a shadow!

Just this kind of feeling, but for Tang Ye, it was induced by some natural attributes of the zombies. This feeling can only be vaguely described, and can’t be fully portrayed.

The psychological activities of zombies vary greatly from humans, and this difference can’t be accurately described from a human’s perspective. Only someone like Tang Ye, who is experiencing it firsthand, can truly perceive the difference.

The psychological fluctuations of a zombie are like releasing all the darkness in a human’s heart, discarding all emotions except anger, transforming into a radical species.

Some of their psychology might overlap with human psychology, forming a bizarre personality that is somewhat similar but vastly different. Personality might not be the best term here, more accurately, it’d be "Zeality".

Their viewpoint in considering objects is somewhat similar yet different from humans.

For instance, a human seeing a broom would first react that it could be used for sweeping the floor. But the first reaction of Tang Ye or a zombie to a broom is – how much energy could it provide if consumed? Or whether it can be consumed at all...it seems smashable...

Only at his second reaction does Tang Ye realize that a broom is used for sweeping floors.

Below, masses of maggots crept slowly towards the Pseudo-dragon. They were coming with sluggish speed, attracted by the scent of the Pseudo-dragon, away from the splattering juices and debris that they had just seen being crushed by the Pseudo-dragon.

The number of maggots was massive. Though slow, their sheer volume made up for their pace and they were still multiplying. Maggots that climbed onto the Pseudo-dragon’s body fell upon it, sticking onto the scales like leeches upon contact.

As they moved forward, Tang Ye’s vision gradually got filled with white—maggots were everywhere. Those circular chunks of worm meat...they seemed to contain nutrition ten times that of beef!

Xu Haishui stuck his hand into the torn flesh of the Pseudo-dragon. As soon as Tang Ye brought him back on, he had immediately returned to his previous location, similar to Tang Ye – kicking away or bursting the maggots underfoot.

Green liquid splashed around, covering sixty or seventy percent of the Pseudo-dragon’s body, indeed making the originally black Pseudo-dragon appear as if it had forgone its sins, green flying around as it manoeuvered.

There was also a change in Ah Fu’s appearance on the dragon’s tail. His upper body muscles bulged up, his body swelling which led to contraction due to Tang Ye’s tentacles binding him, making him appear like a giant tumor growing on the dragon’s tail when viewed from the front.

During this process of evolution, Ah Fu’s weight also increased, combined with two Level 5 zombies, causing the movements of the Pseudo-dragon to slow down a bit.

Whoo whoo~

A faint sound of wings fluttering arose. It was minimal, but Tang Ye’s sharp ears had instantly captured the sound.

"Xu Haishui, do you hear anything?" Tang Ye asked.

"Sound?" Xu Haishui hesitated, glanced at Tang Ye’s expression, and sobered up to listen to the seemingly neglected noise.

"I heard it, what is that!"

"I don’t know, let’s wait and see."

Tang Ye looked puzzled and felt slightly uneasy――an unease that made him want to vent his fury.

About four or five minutes later, the number of maggots around had dwindled until there were none left. Before Tang Ye could react to the situation, he saw a dark cloud of "fog" rushing at them from the front.

"It’s bugs!" Xu Haishui shouted.

He stood at the forefront, his view undisturbed. When the fog got a little closer, Tang Ye could see that it was a dark cloud of insects resembling flies, with countless red compound eyes clearly visible, even without illumination!

Upon getting a clear view of these creatures, Tang Ye’s face contorted in viciousness. If his hunch was correct, these flies were the mature forms of the previous maggots!

Roar!

With a roar, Tang Ye instantly unleashed his presence. His bloodthirsty ferocity flowed, his Level 5 zombie aura pervading every nook and cranny.

Seemingly sensing Tang Ye’s formidability, the packed swarm of flies started buzzing in a large-scale commotion. But this commotion only lasted for a moment and quickly receded to its previous state.

Although Tang Ye’s presence was powerful, both of them weren’t the same kind of life forms. One was a zombie, while the other side was a mutated species of flies.

Zombies were inert to them, just like tables and chairs are to humans. Dead things can’t be threatening, regardless of their grandeur or extravagance. They still evoke a sense of inferiority, but in the end, they are all dead things. How could anyone possibly fear them?

At this point, the swarm of flies deemed Tang Ye as an inanimate object, which would not harm them and hence there was nothing to fear. They were just initially frightened a bit, that was all.

Seeing that the aura he displayed didn’t have much of an impact, Tang Ye scoffed. Even though he was a Level 5 zombie, these flies in front of him were like an ant facing an elephant. However, even an elephant can be bitten to death if there are enough ants.

Tang Ye didn’t want to capsize in the gutter and didn’t wish to confront this swarm of flies. However, it seemed that Tang Ye only had two choices: to fight a fierce battle or give up on the Pseudo-dragon!

But how could Tang Ye possibly give up so easily on the Pseudo-dragon? If he were to give up, he would at least take a few bites first. Moreover, Tang Ye’s nature was rather greedy. How could he possibly be satisfied with just a few more bites?

Definitely, he would want to take it all!

So, Tang Ye chose to fight. After all, they were just a swarm of flies. The Pseudo-dragon was pretty swift - he just had to hold on for a while and they might be able to break through.

With this in mind, Tang Ye’s eyes turned cold. He severed the tentacles binding Ah Fu’s body, extruded a few new ones to tie up Ah Fu, and dragged him forward.

On seeing his actions, Xu Haishui felt a bit uneasy and quickly made way for Tang Ye, letting him lead the way.

After walking for such a long time, the Pseudo-dragon was already out of energy to roar, it just lowered its head and kept moving, not even noticing the looming dark fog.

Whoo whoo whoo...!!

The swarm of flies was in tens of thousands. When both sides were about two hundred meters apart, the noise of countless wings fluttering made Tang Ye’s ears numb and his heart irritable.
