Chapter 369: Chapter 366 Green Ocean_1

Tang Ye’s mentality was influenced by the inborn instinct of zombies, becoming strange and unorthodox. Although he had chosen Xu Haishui, no matter what happened behind the scenes, the more Tang Ye thought, the more he felt disadvantaged. He wanted to kill the Pseudo-dragon regardless of Xu Haishui’s success, and then peacefully enjoy its flesh, thus evolving.

Feeling as if he’d been backed into a corner, Tang Ye simply stopped overthinking it, deciding to play things by ear instead.

No sooner had he suppressed his emotions, he felt a wave of heat coming from behind. He quickly turned around, discovering that Ah Fu was burning up, panting heavily, and every breath was followed by a strong stink of blood and hot waves of air!

It seemed Ah Fu was about to evolve!

Tang Ye instantly understood the situation and rushed to steady Ah Fu, who was swaying on the brink of falling, and hoisted him up to prevent him from rolling off.

The Pseudo-dragon was crazed, charging around like before, and Tang Ye sensed something was wrong with it.

It was too manic, much more so than a regular zombie!

Throughout the journey, plants were crushed to pulp, soft soil was plowed into trenches, and trees ahead were shattered regardless of their size — small ones barely two metres tall, or the large ones over ten metres, both were hit and smashed into splinters by the Pseudo-dragon, splitting the trunks straight down the middle.

Tang Ye bit his teeth hard, using one hand to steady himself to prevent himself from falling off, and the other hand to anchor Ah Fu securely onto the body of the Pseudo-dragon.

The Pseudo-dragon was like a high-speed train at full throttle, barreling forward as if something was chasing it.

The nascent sun peeked out, casting a magnificent light piercing through the heavy clouds — a beautiful sight.

Such a beautiful view indeed, but Tang Ye didn’t have the spare time to enjoy it. His full attention was placed on ensuring Ah Fu wouldn’t fall. He wasn’t sure where the Pseudo-dragon was headed, but letting it run free wasn’t an option.

Regardless of the circumstances, Ah Fu had been with him for a long time, and Tang Ye, a zombie with a degree of sentimentality, wouldn’t simply abandon those who had been most loyal to him unless it was an absolute last resort.

The distant Green Mountain was cloaked in a fog that rolled around like celestial energy, presenting a beautiful view. The only downside was that the leaves on the trees on the ground gave off an air of desolation, greatly disrupting the beauty of the sky above.

Gradually, Tang Ye felt the heat from Ah Fu intensifying. During the evolution process, Ah Fu’s weight was increasing rapidly, reaching a level that made Tang Ye strain to handle.

Even though a Level 5 zombie was strong, compared to zombies of the same level, it was like a person lifting ants or cockroaches — easy. But lifting another human, while possible, took geometrical multiples of strength.

In the beginning, it wasn’t a big deal since Ah Fu was just a Level 4 zombie, and compared to Tang Ye who was a Level 5 zombie, Ah Fu’s weight was easily managed. However, now that Ah Fu was evolving, the anti-life matter in its body was rapidly expanding without any mass change, reaching a level that put Tang Ye under pressure.

Out of the feast the Pseudo-dragon had provided, Ah Fu benefited the most. Even though Ah Fu had been nearly destroyed in the initial fight, its healing ability consumed only a small portion of its energy.

Both Xu Haishui and Tang Ye had exhausted much energy to control and kill the Pseudo-dragon. Evolution required abundant energy for breakthroughs.

Tang Ye had expended all his energy at Zhiyang Lakeshore, but he had also been frantically devouring the Pseudo-dragon’s flesh and vitality. Now that his energy was about 70 to 80 percent restored, compared to Ah Fu, who managed to bite off a large chunk of flesh each time and had not expended much energy to begin with, the fact that Ah Fu managed to evolve wasn’t surprising.

At least, Tang Ye felt somewhat balanced in his heart. Although he himself had not evolved, his loyal subordinate had, which was a kind of benefit to him.

The gigantic Pseudo-dragon slithered upwards and hovered around a peak, before taking a sharp turn to fall downwards, crushing numerous trees and startling many evolved beasts in the forest.

As he moved forward, Tang Ye finally noticed the strange surroundings after he managed to completely stabilize Ah Fu.

He wasn’t sure how far the Pseudo-dragon had traveled, but he noticed that the trees in his surroundings were no longer leafless due to winter, but were adorned with sporadic yellow leaves.

Looking ahead, he saw a golden sea stretching out in front of him. A moment of disorientation hit him as if he had crossed time and space from winter into autumn.

The further they went, the more abundant the leaves became, as the dead yellow transformed into a vivid yellow.

Tang Ye glanced at the sun in the east and knew that the Pseudo-dragon was heading south. Although the south had regions known for their perennial spring, it couldn’t be this exaggerated, right?

Looking at the terrain, they hadn’t left the area of Lin City yet. How could the environment change so drastically all of a sudden?

He turned to look at Xu Haishui, but he was so engrossed in observing the Pseudo-dragon’s head that he didn’t even notice Tang Ye’s gaze. Luckily, Tang Ye said nothing and just quietly watched.

However, the more he watched, the more questions arose in Tang Ye’s mind.

"Is the Primitive Forest Park this large?"

Tang Ye had been to Zhiyang Lake and he was certain that this region of the forest was not this huge!

Moreover, the surrounding trees were incredibly massive. Wherever he looked, there were trees over ten meters high, such as poplar and locust trees!

Wouldn’t any one of these trees be considered a hundred-year-old tree by botanists wherever it was placed?

Tang Ye had some suspicions in his heart, but he wasn’t certain. He couldn’t believe that the changes brought on by the apocalypse could be this drastic!

Not even three years had passed, and Earth was already so different?

The Pseudo-dragon was completely oblivious to Tang Ye’s thoughts. It kept charging forth, its mouth opening and closing with roars that echoed like thunder, causing discomfort in people’s ears. As time passed, its roar grew hoarse due to overuse.

As they moved forward into this place, more and more evolved beasts appeared, the majority of them being Level 1, with only a small number of Level 2 creatures.

Upon sensing the aura emanating from the Pseudo-dragon, these beasts would first leap out intimidatingly to roar but upon seeing the colossal size of the Pseudo-dragon, they all fled in panic. Some unfortunate ones who were too slow ended up squashed into a pulp.

If Tang Ye were in front of the Pseudo-dragon, he would have noticed that its eyes had turned blood-red, and the intelligent look it had a few hours ago was gone.

After the Pseudo-dragon had crossed a small hill with the three zombies on its back, trees around them started sporting tender yellow leaves.

It wasn’t until they had climbed yet another high peak that they saw a sea of green. It was then when Xu Haishui finally snapped back to reality, staring blankly at Tang Ye.
