Without wasting time, the new human soldier, upon seeing the Level 2 zombie charging towards the mother and daughter, raised his corpse-cleaving blade and rushed forward, attempting to stop it!

The people in the back had no idea what was happening up front, they continued to frantically push forward.

A nearby high-rise building suddenly erupted into sparks, piercing through the whole structure! Amidst the tumultuous noise, another large group of survivors emerged from a street, fleeing in every direction!

"Run, quickly!"

The man shouted loudly, awakening the dazed survivors behind him. By the time they snapped back to reality, they heard shrill screams coming from ahead. The Level 2 zombie had already charged into the crowd, sending several unresponsive people flying!

The mother holding Lulu looked back. Upon seeing the Level 2 zombie just a few steps away, she was stunned. She tried to run but found that her legs had gone weak with fear!

Fear enveloped her heart as she watched a man torn in half by the Level 2 zombie. The warm, fresh blood covered her body. She screamed, tears flooding her eyes. She tightened her grip on the little girl and collapsed to the ground.

She had seen zombies before but had never seen a Level 2 zombie, not even a glimpse. The oppressive aura of this enormous Level 2 evolved zombie overwhelmed her!

Easily killing a survivor, the zombie reached out its hand towards the mother and daughter!

The mother closed her eyes, tightly covering Lulu’s head, waiting for death.

Just as the Level 2 zombie was about to touch her clothes, she suddenly felt a breeze brushing her face. Followed by a "bang" sound, she opened her eyes to find the young man who’d been protecting her daughter had thrown his body against the zombie.

"Die!"

The sharp corpse-cleaving blade was thrust into the zombie’s thick neck. He roared, gripping the handle with both hands and pushing the blade further into the zombie’s flesh.

Feeling obstructed, the massive Level 2 zombie roared angrily, spinning its body towards the wall!

At this moment, the high-rise building that had been pierced by a shell began to sway, appearing likely to collapse at any minute!

After a tug at his blade, he realised it was stuck in the zombie’s tough flesh. Unable to pull the blade out, he decided to let go. The momentum from the zombie’s spin sent him flying into the sky. After doing several flips, he crashed to the ground.

After slamming into the ground, the new human soldier ignored the pain coursing through his body and tried to scramble back up. When he looked up, however, the Level 2 zombie was staring directly at him!

His heart turned cold. As he was trying to get up, the enormous hand of the zombie grabbed him, and the icy chill of death went straight to his head!

At this time, the nearby high-rise could no longer support its own weight. It leaned over and fell in their direction. Chunks of debris rained down from the sky, directly hitting and burying the zombie, only leaving the part where it was clasping the new human soldier.

He tried to free himself, but then he heard a thunderous rumbling from above. He looked up and his face turned pale with terror. Giant chunks of cement were dropping from the collapsing building. One of the larger chunks was heading straight towards Lulu and her mother!

He felt desperate but could do nothing. Although the Level 2 zombie was buried under the pile of rocks, it was unclear whether it was dead or alive. The hand gripping him remained tight, pinning him, a Level 1 New Human, down!

"No!"

He cried out in despair, watching Lulu bury her head in fear into her mother’s neck.

Hearing his cry, Tang Ye turned to look at him and then at the giant chunk of rock falling from the sky. With just a thought, a tendril of flesh shot into the sky, reducing the rock to dust!

Watching this unexpected scenario, the new human soldier barely had time to celebrate or even get a good look at Tang Ye’s face before he felt the hand gripping him tighten and then yank him forcefully inward!

Panic-stricken, he reached out desperately, grabbing the handle of the stuck corpse-cleaving blade. Knowing that he couldn’t pull the blade out, he pushed down on the handle!

When the hook at the end of the blade pierced the flesh of the Level 2 zombie, he strained with all his might to lift it up!

But at that moment, beneath the piled-up debris, the muffled growling of the zombie grew louder and louder, almost like a roaring bull. Just as he was ready to pry the blade out, the zombie’s hand suddenly swung, and the sharp hook ripped a deep wound in the zombie’s throat!

The new human soldier was then flung nearly ten meters away, blade still in hand!

When he landed, the continuous crunching noises of breaking bones caused him to break into a cold sweat!

But he couldn’t care about the immense pain at this point. Rescuing people was more important. He raised his head to look at the Level 2 zombie. After an angry roar, it raised a claw and swiped down.

Thinking he was paralyzed, the soldier could only look at Tang Ye with pleading eyes. Even though he knew Tang Ye was a zombie, it was Tang Ye who had shattered the falling rocks and saved the mother-daughter pair.
