I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -

Chapter 185: Chapter 183: Ah Fu’s "Escape"_1
The zombies, one after another, lifted their own kind, moving in a zigzag pattern as if they had gained some form of intelligence, while evading the bullets flying toward them.
All this was under the control of Tang Ye. However, as he couldn’t see the actual situation, the zombies moved in a mess, colliding into each other, tripping over their own in the process.
"Check the data on that zombie!" Wen Yixian directed, pointing at Ah Fu.
"Yes, sir!"
The soldier responded and aimed the tester at Ah Fu. After reviewing the data displayed on the screen, his heart trembled intensely.
"Report... Report... The data shows 3964, it’s a Level 3 zombie!"
"Understood, prioritize attacking it!"
Bang, bang, bang!
While Ah Fu was trying to relay information back to Tang Ye, three shells unexpectedly blasted onto Ah Fu, igniting a huge fire which instantly stirred up thick smoke.
Roar!
The deep and terrifying roar filled the air. Before the soldiers could see what Ah Fu had become, Ah Fu, enraged, stood upright and charged forward like a prehistoric beast.
Hit by three shells, Ah Fu’s body was bombarded with flesh and blood, deep fissures appeared in the bones. However, its defence was extraordinarily high, these attacks were simply not enough to kill it in one go!
Thump, thump, thump...
Ah Fu, now running with incredible power, took a step, causing the ground to shake beneath the feet of the soldiers on the zombie-proof wall. Their hearts filled with fear as they aimed their weapons at it.
Bullets rained on Ah Fu, creating a flurry of metallic clangs. Ah Fu’s ridiculously high defence was maddening. Despite bullets that could easily end the life of a new human pummelling its body, they were no more than mosquito bites to Ah Fu!
Occasionally, a few bullets penetrated into its flesh, only to be expelled shortly after due to its incredibly rapid healing ability.
Seeing the unstoppable Ah Fu, resembling a war god, the soldiers began to panic. Their bullets were not injuring it, and they could only watch helplessly as it approached the zombie-proof wall.
Looking at its exaggerated muscles, the soldiers somewhat doubted whether the zombie-proof wall could withstand this terrifying Level 3 zombie.
"Fire!"
"Attack!"
Bang, bang, bang!
A few more shells were aimed at Ah Fu. After the explosion, Ah Fu was blasted into the air by the massive impact.
Roar... Roar~Roar... Roar!
From amidst the thick smoke, the sound of Ah Fu’s weakened roar could be heard. Clearly, the Level 3 zombie couldn’t stand up against human weaponry after all. The news of Ah Fu’s injury reached Tang Ye back in the base, causing him to furrow his brows.
Unaware of the actual situation, Tang Ye began to worry. Ah Fu was his only loyal follower. If Ah Fu died, he wouldn’t have the mood to look for another.
Despite being unable to witness the situation firsthand, Tang Ye tried to come up with solutions in his mind.
After a couple of low roars, as the smoke cleared Ah Fu glared at the soldiers atop the zombie-proof wall with even more anger. Standing up once again after being attacked by shells, Ah Fu appeared quite miserable. A large piece of flesh was blown off its shoulder, and one of its horns had broken off. Its bone armor had fallen apart, revealing the bloody muscle tissue underneath, from which black zombie blood was continuously streaming.
Roar!
Around the corner a Level 2 zombie charged out. It swung its elongated arms, which were dragging on the ground, and crazily ran towards the zombie-proof wall like a madman.
Just the appearance of this zombie attracted some of the soldiers’ attention, and it diverted some of the firepower away from Ah Fu.
"Keep firing!"
Seeing that Ah Fu, the Level 3 zombie, wasn’t dead yet, the officer in charge of the artillery, veins bulging in his face, roared in anger.
Shell after shell was shot directly at Ah Fu. It’s bright white zombie eyes filled with intense rage.
Having evolved into a Level 3 zombie, its intelligence had also slightly increased. Although not by much, it was only a small step away from animal intelligence. Upon seeing the shells being fired, it hurriedly attempted to move to the side, but it was too late.
The shells hit the ground nearby, and the resulting explosion sent it flying into the air again. However, this time, Ah Fu managed to stabilize its body. Its sturdy legs straightened, and after executing a full turn in mid-air, it unsteadily stood on the ground.
Its massive body added to its heavy weight. The moment its legs hit the ground, the road was stomped into two grooves!
Even if Ah Fu was hit by shells this time, the damage it received was not too high. Snarling with rage, it didn’t rush forward but instead got on all fours again.
On its back, the massive bone spikes formed into a bone mountain began to vibrate. Occasionally, black pus mixed with yellow blood would ooze out, as if the bone spikes on top were about to be blasted out at any moment.
Seeing the crisscrossed thick bone spikes on its back, the soldiers had a bad feeling but didn’t know what to expect next.
The spikes on Ah Fu’s back started to oscillate even more violently, as if it was gathering energy for a massive attack. The bone spikes started to loosen, making the soldiers anxious.
However, at that moment, Ah Fu’s body suddenly shook, as if something had poked it. The vibrations in its bone spikes stopped, calming the soldiers’ hearts.
This sudden change left Ah Fu still. It looked around at its surroundings, seemingly looking for something. This scene puzzled everybody on the zombie-proof wall.
"What is it doing?" Wen Yixian looked at Ah Fu and asked.
None of the officers standing beside her answered; they were all quietly observing Ah Fu’s next move.
After scanning around, Ah Fu’s gaze landed on the long-armed Level 2 zombie. Its eyes lit up, and it immediately changed direction, heading towards the Level 2 zombie.
The soldiers were taken aback by Ah Fu’s unusual behaviour. Ah Fu was walking towards the Level 2 zombie and not attacking the zombie-proof wall anymore. Even though Ah Fu wasn’t attacking the wall, the soldiers on it would not stop attacking it.
Once Ah Fu turned its back, numerous bullets were launched at it with violent force. Multiple shells were fired and exploded around it, but Ah Fu, like a possessed being, kept dodging them, managing to evade all the bullets and shells.
While Ah Fu was dodging, its enormous foot crushed several zombies, sending their flesh flying all over the place!
Ah Fu was very much like a defeated fighter who had fled in panic. Its huge silhouette excited the soldiers.
This was a Level 3 zombie!
They actually forced it to retreat. What a great achievement!
The soldiers’ morale soared and they attacked the zombies more vigorously, but Wen Yixian’s face became increasingly stern.
She didn’t stand a chance to believe that zombie was fleeing. Intelligent behaviour in an escaping zombie implies that it has animal-level intelligence.
Although the intelligence of zombies was meant to increase with evolution, she didn’t believe that their intelligence could evolve so fast!
It was definitely under someone’s control.
The suspicions in her heart started to manifest!
