I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 1480 - 1475 Voice
Chapter 1480: Chapter 1475 Voice
The "wave" recreated by the tsunami of corpses finally reached a limit, and within moments, with the constant rumbling figures, the over ten-meter-high tsunami came crashing down with a roar, smashing the surrounding trees and modern facilities to pieces!
The tsunami of corpses submerged everything, and Lu Xiaojie and Tang Ye, in front of it, seemed so insignificant.
With Tang Ye’s help, the movement speed of one person and one zombie was very fast. The "tsunami" couldn’t catch up to them, and the zombies appearing in front of Tang Ye were just soft as tofu brains, bursting into a bloody mess upon impact!
Speeding along the way, Lu Xiaojie, who was being carried, let out screams from time to time. The violent friction between her skin and the air made her feel as if a layer of her skin was almost worn away, causing a burning pain.
And those zombies that Tang Ye smashed into pieces made the corners of her eyes twitch in pain. She had done some things here. This way of dying was even worse than being thrown directly into a meat grinder by herself...
Before long, Tang Ye noticed that the zombies around them began to thin out, but behind them, the great shadow formed by the tsunami of corpses covered half the sky, too conspicuous.
"Put me down." Realizing that Tang Ye’s speed had slowed down, Lu Xiaojie who was being carried hurriedly shouted.
As soon as Tang Ye heard her voice, he quickly put her down.
Lu Xiaojie managed to stand up, vigorously slapped her face, and couldn’t help but hiss with the pain afterwards.
"You ran so fast, I nearly suffocated to death."
"Well, you are an ordinary person after all. Tell me, what do we do next?"
"Go in." Lu Xiaojie pointed towards what was in front of them and said.
"Then let’s go."
The exaggerated scale of the tsunami of corpses behind them already made Lu Xiaojie unable to keep her calm. She took out a shovel, busting the heads of zombies that tried to crawl out from shadowy graffiti while rushing into the Building’s recycling center. The black-coated figures hadn’t reacted and the door was already kicked open by Tang Ye.
"Who’s there?"
The black-coated figures inside the Building saw Tang Ye and Lu Xiaojie, asked aloud, and got into an attack stance immediately, but the next second, when they saw the spectacle of the tsunami of corpses outside, their faces turned white with fright.
"What... what have you all done?"
"None of your fucking business!"
Lu Xiaojie couldn’t be bothered to answer. She went straight up and "whack whack" a few shovel hits to the ground, knocking several of the closest black-coated figures down.
"Don’t bother with these people; they won’t be harmed. In a while, when we come out, we’ll be able to see them again." She said to Tang Ye, then led the way to the same entrance Tang Ye first came in, entering the staircase entrance, which led to long, winding stairs going down.
It seemed like time had rewound to the moment when Lu Xiaojie first led Tang Ye in. After walking on the stairs for a while, the two saw the previous group of black-coated figures below. Initially, it was Tang Ye’s "getting lost" ability that prevented the group from seeing them, but now, it seemed Lu Xiaojie didn’t care about that and didn’t use Tang Ye’s ability.
She said to Tang Ye, "Don’t be surprised, it’s always been like this. Let’s go down; they can’t catch up to us!"
After speaking, Lu Xiaojie ran ahead, moving her feet frantically in a mad dash. The group of black-coated figures climbing up heard footsteps not their own and shifted their gaze upwards to see Lu Xiaojie and Tang Ye, two strangers. They were momentarily stunned, and then, pulling out their weapons, they called out in a hurry, "Who are you? How did you get in?"
Lu Xiaojie apparently couldn’t be bothered to answer, and without giving the robed men time to react, she suddenly burst through them. Several big men failed to grasp even the hem of her clothes, and as for Tang Ye behind her, he slipped through the crowd before their attention could even shift away from Lu Xiaojie.
"Quick! Catch them! Don’t let them get downstairs!"
A group of men in black overcoats changed countenance and hurriedly chased after Tang Ye and Lu Xiaojie!
Each with a candle in hand, they dashed into the corridor. Tang Ye looked around and noticed that the candle Lu Xiaojie had taken earlier had somehow returned to its original place. On one side of the corridor, as during their first visit, were paintings of a family enjoying dinner, except each painting varied slightly in detail.
"Is this your first time encountering such a situation?"
"No, but I haven’t come across it often; this might be my second time."
"Are you sure it’s useful to come in here?"
"I don’t know, it depends on what Dairya wants."
The response from Lu Xiaojie made Tang Ye frown.
"What do you mean?"
"If we’re lucky, nothing will happen; if not... then it’s up to you."
"Let’s hurry up, get to the end and see what happens when we get out. Hopefully nothing will happen."
"Does Dairya know you’ve hidden the body in that place?"
"No idea, she might be targeting you."
Tang Ye and Lu Xiaojie each took a candle and rushed into the corridor engulfed by pure darkness. While talking to Lu Xiaojie, Tang Ye subconsciously looked at the floor, and that’s when he realized that the dense graffiti of silhouettes had vanished, revealing beautifully patterned floor tiles.
He had followed Lu Xiaojie to this "basement" before, but the sound insulation seemed very poor. The noise from above grew increasingly loud, filling their ears, indistinguishable as either human screams or the excited roars of zombies spotting living prey.
For some reason, following Lu Xiaojie back here made him feel as if something was clogging his heart. He felt troubled, as if there were many things left undone, yet he had to deal with them, but could not for the life of him remember what exactly was causing such heartache.
Lu Xiaojie seemed to be in a similar state, her brow furrowed, her expression solemn, occasionally turning her head to look around as though she feared something might suddenly appear. When Tang Ye asked her what she was worried about, she couldn’t come up with an answer, the most she could say was three words.
I don’t know.
The noise from above was getting louder, and initially, Tang Ye thought the horde of zombies had breached into the recycling station, starting to surge towards this bunker that was not quite a basement, but after a while, Tang Ye realized that the strange commotion seemed to be coming from all directions.
In the darkness, only the flames of the candles held in Tang Ye and Lu Xiaojie’s hands could be seen, beyond the reach of the light was pitch black, like groping in this world with our eyes closed.
Lu Xiaojie moved hesitantly, frequently looking back, while Tang Ye also noticed her slightly weary face. Not knowing whether it was his own realization or being influenced by her, he began observing their surroundings as well.
Lu Xiaojie worried that Tang Ye’s candle might inadvertently go out, and Tang Ye seemed to think the same, feeling as if everything was becoming increasingly elusive.
