Lanlan stared at the deserted doorway with only a pile of food left. She made a sudden dash out of the door. Her mother had told her that the person who brought the food must be a kind-hearted person, and she wanted to meet him!

When she reached the hallway, she was initially revolted by the sight of a dead zombie lying on the floor. Afterwards, she caught sight of Tang Ye’s towering figure.

"Uncle! Wait for me, don’t leave!" Lanlan called out to Tang Ye.

Tang Ye paused momentarily before turning to look at the girl, Lanlan. However, he regretted his decision the next second, chiding himself for not wearing a mask first.

"Aah..." Lanlan gave a start as she saw the terrifying sight of Tang Ye’s face. She covered her mouth. At the moment, he looked more fearsome than any zombie she had ever seen. With rows of triangular teeth and elongated white eyes, he might look more aesthetically pleasing than other zombies with rotting faces, but to normal humans, he looked like a demon from television!

Tang Ye merely looked at Lanlan for a second, saw the fear in her eyes, then turned back and sprinted down the stairs.

Lanlan initially thought that this zombie, Tang Ye, would charge towards her. But he didn’t. Instead, he started running down the stairs with his back facing her. This relieved her immensely. The fear she initially felt towards Tang Ye disappeared abruptly. She firmly believed that Tang Ye was a good zombie!

"Uh...zom...zombie uncle..." Tang Ye, who was already on the stairs, shivered slightly when he heard her call out.

"Lanlan! What happened just now? Did that person deliver something again?" The woman had been woken up by Lanlan’s cries earlier. At the sight of the two bags of food at the door and hearing her daughter’s frightened scream, she dashed out in a panic!

"Yes!" Lanlan nodded in response to her mother’s question.

"Did you see him? What does he look like?"

"I saw that zom... I mean Uncle just now. He is really tall, taller than Dad! He left the food at the door and left, so I came out to chase him!"

"Oh, so that’s what happened!" The woman looked at the additional zombie corpse in the hallway. Even so, being outside always made her feel insecure. She squatted down in front of Lanlan and spoke softly.

"Lanlan, why don’t we go inside and eat first, it’s not safe out here!"

"Mom, I want to have boiled noodles. I don’t want to eat dry instant noodles anymore."

"Lanlan, listen. We’ve run out of gas at home. Can we put up with it for a few days? The police will come to rescue us soon!"

"Okay, Lanlan will listen." The little girl obediently agreed as her mother guided her back into the room by the hand.

Meanwhile, Tang Ye, out of sight of the mother and daughter, heard their entire conversation.

"Gas, huh? Let me help you!" Tang Ye knew that Lanlan had already seen his appearance and knew that he was a zombie. However, she didn’t tell her mother about it. He could sense Lanlan’s goodwill towards him. She was the first person to show kindness to him!

Tang Ye felt warm in his heart. Recalling Lanlan calling him ’zombie uncle’ earlier, he couldn’t help but crack a smile, making him look even more terrifying.

Tang Ye went downstairs. He knew of a shop that sold gas cans, but it was a bit far from here. He needed to find some means of transportation. But first, he had something to do.

Looking at the several dozens of zombies wandering back and forth in the residential courtyard, he silently took out his crowbar.

Since you show kindness to me, then I will provide you with a safe world!

He raised the lethal crowbar and smashed the skull of the first zombie, consuming its brain and repeating this process. In the end, after killing all the zombies in the residential area, he piled their corpses to one side.

After that, Tang Ye walked out of the residential area and closed the gate to prevent other wandering zombies from entering. He spotted an electric bike discarded by the roadside after the post-apocalyptic outbreak, climbed onto it, and noticed that the key was still there.

Tang Ye turned the handlebar lightly, and the electric bike started moving with a jerk.

Well! The tire was flat. Tang Ye had to get off the bike and find a new one!

He found another toppled electric bike not far away, helped it up, rode it for a bit, and found it to be in pretty decent condition.

There were many cars that could be started parked by the side, but Tang Ye didn’t know how to drive and had never learned.

Tang Ye rode the electric bike down the street he was familiar with, now filled with zombies. They were not human and knew nothing about traffic rules. Tang Ye had to dodge the zombies in front of him every time. He wanted to honk the horn to disperse them, but that would only draw them towards him and surround him!

It took him almost ten minutes to reach the propane store. He easily picked up two new propane tanks. His strength had increased after turning into a zombie. At first, his arms were weak, but after consuming the ’jelly’ taken from the brain of a huge zombie, that sensation disappeared!

Tang Ye placed the two propane tanks on the electric bike and started on his way back.

"Damn it! This is so annoying!" Tang Ye, who had been riding for a while, looked at the swarm of zombies blocking the road ahead, feeling extremely annoyed. He really wanted to drive an armored car and crush his way through.

"Sigh~" Heaved a sigh. He was helpless against the zombie horde, so he lifted the two propane tanks off the bike. He wanted to carry them on his shoulder but that would hit the gun on his back!

Tang Ye trekked for half an hour before he made it to the gate of the residential area. He opened the gate and made his way upstairs to Lanlan and her mother’s door. He wasn’t tired on the way, probably due to being a zombie. However, he could feel the energy inside his body rapidly depleting. He gently set down the propane tanks.

Boom boom~

Even though Tang Ye set them down as gently as he could, the sound still echoed when the cans touched the ground. He knocked on the door three times. This time he learned his lesson. Lanlan may have goodwill towards him due to her limited exposure to things, but what about her mother? Would she attack him with a weapon?

Knock knock knock~

After knocking, Tang Ye turned and left immediately without lingering. He didn’t want to cause unnecessary misunderstanding. Meanwhile, Lanlan was still drawing in the house. However, she was not drawing flowers anymore, but a figure in black clothing, a "person". Only she knew who it was.

When she heard the knocking at the door, Lanlan abruptly lifted her head and stopped her watercolor pen. She immediately thought of who might be outside - it must be the zombie uncle! She rushed over and flung the door open.

After finishing her meal, her mother went back to her room to continue sleeping. The door was shut, and the soundproofing was good enough that noises from the living room wouldn’t disturb her.

Outside the door were just two propane tanks, with no sign of the Zombie Uncle.

"The Zombie Uncle must have left. Lanlan needs to go and find him!"
