I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 1278 - 1273: Ding! Good Person Card

Chapter 1278: Chapter 1273: Ding! Good Person Card

And just a moment ago, they had exposed themselves as outsiders. They truly didn’t understand why Su Sigui chose to do this. That Level 8 zombie named Ha Zhen was obviously not easy to handle. But then again, was a Level 8 zombie ever easy to handle?

Moreover, according to Tagu’s description, Ha Zhen was a loyal follower of the so-called Heavenly Khan. They had no doubt this zombie masquerading as a human would in the next second lash out, ready to tear apart these outsiders!

At the same time, they were also worried about Tagu. After all, it was he who had led them into the Royal Court. If something happened to them, he’d likely suffer the consequences.

They stole a glance at Tagu, his face also tense with nerves. Yan Xing, Xu Tianyu, and the others could only sigh.

Su Sigui stood her ground against the opposition, neither side giving in, and someone in the air had already sensed an ominous foreboding.

But what was unexpected was that Ha Zhen quickly averted his gaze from Su Sigui, as if he couldn’t bear her scrutiny. He didn’t tear open his clothes to become an ugly, ferocious zombie as people imagined. Instead, he spoke indifferently, "What are you doing here? Why did you appear before me?"

He continued with his previous activities, but the words that came from his mouth were confusing. What did he mean by ’appearing before me’ as if it was a matter of mere chance?

But in the next second, an even more baffling scene unfolded. Su Sigui’s face revealed a cryptic smile, as if to say "As expected."

She walked past Ha Zhen into the shop, her gaze fixed on the slowly squirming wearable arm blade across the room. If the metal hoops below were removed, it could easily become a knife, although the blade was very well-suited as an arm blade.

She eyed the arm blade for a while and soon nodded, apparently quite satisfied with the weapon. Then, stretching out her hand towards it, she turned her head to Ha Zhen and said, "Boss, how much for this weapon? I’ll take it."

"You should have heard what I said to that guy just now. We’re not open today. Come back the day after tomorrow." Ha Zhen said without looking back, his tone cold, his hands not pausing their movement for a second, as the clear water in the large basin was quickly tainted to a dark red by the filth and pus flowing from the three tissues in it.

Su Sigui seemed not to hear what Ha Zhen had said, walking around his shop with hands behind her back. Her steps were casual, like a mischievous young girl taking a stroll in her own living room. She murmured to herself, as if speaking to herself or perhaps to someone else.

"I once made a deal with a guy I hated. For the sake of that deal, I told him my biggest secret without hesitation—a secret I’ve never told anyone, including to this day. No matter how others may guess, it’s just that, a guess. Without confirmation, nobody can be sure. But I told that guy."

"The deal was simple. I would wait for him at Cloud Gorge Base until he showed up. But to my surprise, this guy was very unreliable. Not only did I not see him, I had to seek him out at great risk. Before this, I thought about all the dangers I might encounter, like meeting a Zombie King. And if my companions and I died on the road while searching for him—you tell me, would that guy feel relieved that he truly wouldn’t have to keep his promise because of my death?"

At this point, Su Sigui had already walked up to Ha Zhen. As her voice fell, she bent down, her gaze meeting Ha Zhen’s emotionless eyes.

Whoosh!

Perhaps startled, Ha Zhen stood up abruptly, walking over to where the wearable arm blade hung, and yanked it down, handing it to Su Sigui.

"It’s on the house. No charge."

Ha Zhen said with a stiff tone, avoiding Su Sigui’s eyes. She, however, did not immediately reach out to take it and instead spoke, "I prefer knives, can you help with that?"

Without a word, Ha Zhen took the arm blade and flung it onto a nearby wall table. It seemed the living knife was displeased with Ha Zhen’s handling, for its spine suddenly split open to reveal two rows of sharp curved teeth. A petal tried to reach out for Ha Zhen, but retreated after a stern look from him, transforming back into an unassuming dark purple flesh and blood blade.

Ha Zhen, with tools in hand, quickly removed the four metal hoops from the blade and tossed them to Su Sigui.

Snap!

She caught them smoothly. The spine of the blade cracked open into a mouth and let out a hoarse voice.

"Hehe, you look quite tasty."

The petal tongue that had retracted earlier stretched out again, but a slap from Su Sigui’s hand sent it shrinking back.

She then looked at Ha Zhen with a sweet smile, "Thank you, boss. You’re a good ’person’!"

Su Sigui emphasized the word ’person,’ which made Ha Zhen twitch at the corner of his eye. He’d been wise for a long time and had learned many ins and outs of human society. As far as he understood, receiving a ’good person card’ wasn’t exactly a compliment?

However, all the events that just unfolded only caused Ha Zhen’s eye to twitch. As soon as Su Sigui and her company got into the car, he turned around and coldly told Su Sigui, "I hope you understand your situation. If you only know this from somewhere and use it to deceive me, then I won’t let you leave the Royal Court alive!"

His chilly words seemed to have a cooling effect, making the already cold temperature drop even further.

Su Sigui wasn’t affected by Ha Zhen’s words. As she stepped into the car, her hands turned inward on the roof to support her body, half her face peering out with eyes like crescents as she smiled, "Of course, if I really duped you and you want to kill me, I wouldn’t mind tearing your head off along with your spine to use as a flail."

Ha Zhen paid no heed to Su Sigui’s words and quickly emptied the large basin, turning the water over. Su Sigui didn’t stay long, slipping into the car as her words ended, closing the door. The next second, Yan Xing revved the engine, released the clutch, stepped on the gas, shifted gears, and quickly they left Ha Zhen’s shop behind.

Once they were far away, Yan Xing’s brows began to furrow.

"This intelligence is a bit too off the charts. To understand all of this..."

As his words spilled out, the others in the car also showed a grave expression. They were searching for the Northern Empire with Su Sigui and obviously knew why she had done what she did.

Only Tagu didn’t fully grasp what they were saying. But to him, wasn’t that normal?

Perhaps they simply weren’t accustomed to witnessing such things.
