I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World
Chapter 12 - Furious Tang Ye_1

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 - Furious Tang Ye_1

"Haha, all geared up, it’s time to give that birdbrain a hard time!" Tang Ye carelessly glanced at the almost skeletal corpses on the ground, took down something from them that looked like ammunition, and walked out the door, pushing aside the zombies. He didn’t realize that something within him had subtly changed.

Tang Ye got to the stairwell on the first floor, dumped all the stuff he was carrying on the ground. He was going out after Fu Xinkun, and it would be too much trouble to carry more than one gun. He checked the magazines in all the guns and found no more than five or six bullets in each, some didn’t even have one.

He wasn’t worried, didn’t he have more bullets? There should be plenty of them!

However, Tang Ye furrowed his brows after emptying out all the ammo belts.

"F*ck, that’s all? These bastards!" Tang Ye cursed under his breath. Out of all the bullets, he only found forty-six. Not even enough to fill up a full and a half magazines.

He had initially thought there would be at least several hundreds, and this letdown had taken him by surprise. What could he do with so few bullets?

One is better than nothing, Tang Ye gathered all the bullets, loaded all of them into the Type 81 Rifle he’d picked up, attached one of the ammo belts at his waist, and put the remaining bullets into it.

Tang Ye took a look at his get up.

It looked rather cool!

Tang Ye put the Type 81 Rifle on his shoulder, striking a coos pose.

Yeah!

After the pose, Tang Ye looked at the remaining six guns on the floor, wondering what to do with them. Shooters without bullets were of no good use, not even better than a fire stick!

"Tuck them away for now, take them out when needed!" Tang Ye knew he couldn’t just leave them to lie there, so he thought about finding a place to hide them.

"Ah, here is a good place!"

Tang Ye looked at a spacious storage cabinet and put the six guns into it, and then, moved the whole cabinet under the stairs. As a precaution, he blocked it with the furniture that had been destroyed by a giant zombie, which concealed the gun-storing cabinet perfectly.

"Done! A job well done!" Tang Ye laughed satisfactorily, caressed the gun in his hand, and thought that it would be perfect if he had a bayonet on it, thus, making it suitable for both ranged attack and close combat.

Tang Ye shook his head. He had yet to take revenge!

He stepped back, trying to see if the guy in black, who had shot him, was still there.

Fu Xinkun was standing on a narrow window ledge, holding onto an iron rod, looking up at the rooftop so close yet so far, debating whether to advance. He could have climbed up the thick water pipe all the way to the rooftop, but the pipe went into the building midway on the sixth floor. He could climb up and stand on the bend of the pipe, but there wasn’t a place for him to hold.

"Screw it, let’s try the sixth floor!" He gritted his teeth, not caring whether there were zombies upstairs, he now had no other choice but to risk it all!

Fu Xinkun squatted down, grabbed the window ledge under his feet, and pushed himself down. Hovering in midair, the sight was enough to make anyone’s heart skip, fearing that he would slip and fall any moment.

Fu Xinkun steadied his shaking body, put his feet on the window sill below, released his hand, and then, he was standing firmly on the window sill.

He squatted there, scanned the room inside the window, and let out a sigh of relief when he saw no zombies. He raised a hand to the window, pushed it to the left...

"Hmm? It’s locked?"

At this moment, Tang Ye, who was on the ground, stared at Fu Xinkun while touching the scab on his face that was missing a small chunk, seething with hatred!

"It’s your turn, you ugly bastard! What goes around comes around! Fate can be cruel, you know? Do you get it, brother?" Tang Ye raised his gun, roughly aimed at Fu Xinkun, and pulled the trigger.

Click...

"Huh? What’s going on?" The expected gunshot didn’t sound, leaving Tang Ye confused.

"Oh, the gun safety is still on...there. Is this right?" Tang Ye twisted a part on his gun that seemed to be the safety, raised his gun again, and pulled the trigger!

Bang!

A bullet whizzed through the air, making a tearing sound. Fu Xinkun, who was contemplating about breaking in through the window, got a shock and the window glass shattered in an instant!

Fu Xinkun looked down and was taken aback!

"What the hell? F*ck, it’s unbelievable!" He saw Tang Ye holding a gun and recognized him. Wasn’t this the zombie that he shot but didn’t kill just now?

Tang Ye saw that his first shot missed, his eyes, white and without pupils, stared fiercely at him.

"You just wait, I’ve got twenty-nine more shots, let’s see where you run to?" Tang Ye pulled the trigger again and shot two more bullets towards him.

Seeing Tang Ye’s movement, Fu Xinkun knew that he had come for revenge. After hearing the two gunshots, he instinctively curled up and covered his head.

Click...Click...

Whether it was divine intervention or mere luck, both of the bullets fired by Tang Ye hit the window glass. Fu Xinkun quickly jumped through the window.

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!

"F*ck you!" Seeing Fu Xinkun about to escape into the window, Tang Ye started firing in frenzy, but it was too late. Fu Xinkun had already taken cover and all the bullets missed!

Fury coursing through his veins, Tang Ye felt he had been made a fool.

"Damn it, you are going to die today! Let’s see how you’re going to escape this!"

"There’s a human upstairs, go eat him! Quickly!" (Roars and growls~)

Tang Ye roared at the zombies he’d attracted with his gunfire. They came and, finding Tang Ye to be one of them, started wandering around casually, paying no attention to Tang Ye’s roaring.

Seeing this, Tang Ye, filled with rage and having no outlet to vent, pointed the gun at the closest few zombies and pulled the trigger.

Bang Bang Bang!

They took the bullets in the head, blood spattering, dropping dead on the spot, without a clue of what just happened.

After letting off some steam, Tang Ye lifted his head to look at the highest floor in the building.

"Hehe, the top floor, huh? You just wait. I’m going to eat you alive... wait, what am I thinking?" Tang Ye’s face went through a flurry of expressions, from menacing to taken aback. Tang Ye regained his cool, realizing his mind had just waged a macabre and bloody thought. The unabated desire to behave in this way seemed to be the inherent behaviour of becoming a zombie, which couldn’t be changed even when he still retained human consciousness.

Tang Ye quickly ran in the opposite direction. He needed to get away from this place, he had to maintain this bottom line, the bottom line of his humanity!
