Chapter 1070: Chapter 1066: Waiting for the Zombie Army to Take Care of You
The power of the Level 7 zombie burst forth once again, and under the tremendous force, the tentacle seized by Tang Ye simply couldn’t withstand his strength. It was yanked out by the roots and flung towards the sky then fell towards Tang Ye’s location.
Before it hit the ground, Tang Ye leaned back, his chest tearing open as dense, spiky bone protrusions stretched out for more than ten meters, instantly shredding the massive flesh clump in the air!
"Get lost!"
The section of tentacle he clutched in his hand was twisted violently. Tang Ye roared, changed direction, and wielded the attacking tentacle as his weapon, smashing it ferociously into another area!
There, the tentacle that had just been sliced up by the black light merged back together as numerous mutants rushed towards the site. Their decaying flesh fell off, attaching to the mass of tissue, quickly forming a four-meter-tall giant mutant. But just as it stood up and prepared to attack Tang Ye, it was crushed by the very tentacle in Tang Ye’s grip!
The immense impact sent its vast body flying hundreds of meters away!
Chirp~
The distant mutant shrieked piercingly at Tang Ye, as more and more mutants climbed onto its body, merging with it and making it grow increasingly larger!
Behind it, a massive tentacle slowly formed, thick and robust, with a diameter of surely over a meter, somewhat flattened yet the sharp fangs on it were enough to make one’s scalp tingle!
The tentacle grew longer and longer, and as it let out another shrill roar, the robust tentacle shot towards Tang Ye like a bullet, but halfway there, an even larger, broader tentacle swooped down!
Before it could react, Tang Ye’s hand, transformed into a tentacle, instantaneously turned into a bone spur and pierced the mutant’s body across hundreds of meters away on the spot!
Immediately, the bone protraction thickened, bursting the creature’s body from inside out!
Numerous screams rang in Tang Ye’s ears, but he paid them no heed, as the tentacle he controlled coiled around the mutant’s body, dragging it towards him.
As Tang Ye pulled his tentacle back, the blood and flesh enwrapped by it merged again. It started to grow a multitude of sharp teeth, trying in vain to pierce Tang Ye’s defensive tentacles. But how could the body parts of a Level 7 zombie be as flimsy as theirs?
No matter how hard it tried, it couldn’t break free from the binds of Tang Ye’s tentacle, and in the end, it was brought before Tang Ye while still entangled.
The tentacle tore open with a hissing sound, exposing a part of the mutant’s body where an eye had grown, showing no hint of emotion, just an indifferent gaze, much like an eye crafted by a machine, devoid of any soul.
It continued to struggle, but the more it did, the tighter Tang Ye’s tentacle wound around it, squeezing and compressing the space it occupied with terrifying force, making it nearly impossible for any piece of its flesh to break free.
Tang Ye looked into its eye with a strange expression on his face.
"I don’t care why you’re attacking me, nor do I want to know. What I want now is to make you... oh, no, I mean to turn you all into my followers!"
Having said that, his tentacle whipped sharply, smashing it against the side of a building. The red spores on it burst open, and a great volume of black-red liquid flowed out!
"Assimilate!"
Two words left Tang Ye’s mouth, and the next second, the eyeball of the mutant wrapped by his tentacle exploded violently. Anti-life matter surged from Tang Ye’s body into the mutant’s, beginning the assimilation of its peculiar cells!
The mutated creature’s flesh started to squirm, like boiling water bubbling incessantly. Its shape was also changing wildly, one second it looked one way, the next second it took on another form. On its body, small silver specks appeared, and these specks swiftly expanded their occupied area!
"It seems to be working."
Watching the mutated creature evolving in the direction of the silver-armored zombies, Tang Ye’s eyes brightened. If this could work, then the disaster could be quickly resolved, and the number of silver-armored zombies could double. However, what Tang Ye was especially curious about was whether these strange mutated creatures would possess any bizarre abilities after becoming silver-armored zombies?
Tang Ye was very curious about this point, as different types of zombies all had their own unique abilities.
As for whether the transformation of so many mutant monsters into silver-armored zombies might result in an excessive number of them and cause some kind of destruction, Tang Ye didn’t care in the slightest—after all, no one would complain about having more followers.
But soon, the body of the mutated creature being assimilated by Tang Ye in the tentacles suddenly exploded! Various pieces of rotten flesh scattered in all directions, and after falling to the ground, they no longer moved. All of the flesh molecules fused with that mutated monster turned black under Tang Ye’s scrutiny and eventually became a pile of black ash.
At the same time, Tang Ye’s facial expression froze.
"This... it’s dead?"
With his foot, he nudged the nearby black ash, which turned the ground as black as coal.
"It’s really dead, a rejection of anti-life material?"
Tang Ye scratched his ear, not having expected such a turn of events.
"So this method won’t work for making them into silver-armored zombies to serve me, but it can kill them."
Tang Ye muttered to himself, looking up at the street still teeming with mutated creatures, he could only shake his head. The silver-armored assimilation could kill them, but this power of assimilation was unique to Tang Ye. Ah Fu could only infect humans to become silver-armored zombies; he couldn’t assimilate other non-silver-armored zombie types.
Relying solely on himself to kill these disgusting creatures one by one was too bothersome for Tang Ye. With so many mutant monsters, killing them would take a long time, and it was easier and more time-efficient to let other silver-armored zombies devour them.
"Forget it, let’s go. I’ll leave you to the zombie army."
Looking at the street full of mutated creatures, Tang Ye turned and left. However, he didn’t notice that within a piece of flesh, the silver specks on top began to fade and then disappeared. But this piece of flesh didn’t wither into black ash; instead, bumps continued to rise on the surface, twisting in different directions, unable to separate.
...
At the nearest defense line, someone spotted Tang Ye’s figure among the horde of mutated creatures and immediately shouted, "It’s the Marshal, the Marshal is inside! He’s coming out!"
The soldiers saw Tang Ye jumping out from the midst of the creatures and quickly ran up to him.
"Marshal! Are you alright?"
"I’m fine," Tang Ye reassured them and then said to the crowd, "Don’t touch me. Those things can’t infect me, but that might not be the case for you."
"Yes! Quick, you guys, get the Marshal a towel!"
