Chapter 97: The Oracle’s Warning

---

The room fell into a tense silence as Susan’s words echoed in the air. Adam’s brow furrowed, his piercing gaze fixed on her. The revelation had struck him like a thunderbolt.

"Wait, what did you just say?" Adam’s voice was calm but carried a hint of disbelief.

Susan hesitated, wringing her hands nervously.

"The Oracle said...you are the greatest danger humanity will ever face. No threat as immense as you has ever existed before."

Adam gets very shocked after hearing Susan’s words and he is unable to believe either Susan’s words or the oracle’s words.

Beside Adam, Leo exchanged a shocked glance with Susan. His confusion mirrored Adam’s, but Susan wasn’t finished.

"And," she added hesitantly, her voice trembling, "it said that without a guide, you will lead this world into destruction. You will tear it apart and create a new one...a world where your new lifeforms will rule."

Adam stood frozen, his mind racing. A guide? Is the Oracle predicting my fall? Is this warning my fate? The weight of her words pressed on him like a heavy storm cloud. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath, attempting to steady himself.

"What else did it say?" Adam’s tone sharpened. "Tell me everything."

Susan inhaled deeply, her shoulders trembling slightly. "It also said you will give me advice soon, advice I must follow if I want to survive."

Adam’s eyes widened. That piece of information aligned perfectly with what he was about to do.

He let out a slow breath, his usually steady demeanor visibly shaken.

"So, the Oracle is right," Adam muttered, more to himself than to anyone else. "Susan, Leo, I must restrict you from using your powers without my supervision."

Leo, startled, broke his silence. "Why? What are you saying?"

Adam turned to him, his expression grim. "When you encountered the Oracle, immense energy radiated from your body—energy no ordinary human could detect. But if a power-holder were nearby, they would have sensed your location instantly. And then they’d come for you."

He paused, his voice darkening. "Right now, neither of you has the strength or the means to defend yourselves against someone like that. Frankly, even I’m not sure I could protect myself against a truly powerful enemy if it came to it."

Susan and Leo exchanged anxious glances. Finally, Leo nodded. "I think Adam’s right. For now, we should avoid using our powers."

Susan sighed and agreed. "Honestly, I don’t want to use them alone anyway. They’re...terrifying."

Adam’s lips curved into a faint smile. "Good. That’s why I have an offer for you both."

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Offer? What kind of offer?"

Adam glanced at Tayo, the small sentient being perched on his shoulder. "You’ll join the Union."

Susan’s eyes widened in surprise. "The Union? As in, the one Tayo talked about on TV?"

Adam nodded. "Yes, that Union."

Leo opened his mouth to respond, but Susan interjected. "How do we join?"

Adam smirked. "You already have. I just needed your consent, which I now have."

Leo and Susan stared at each other in confusion. "But what’s the benefit of joining this...Union?" Leo finally asked.

Adam crossed his arms, feigning offense. "Really? You need me to spell it out? I gave you new lifeforms, new possibilities. Are you both forgetting that already?"

Leo chuckled awkwardly. "No, that’s not what I meant—"

Adam cut him off with a grin. "Relax, I’m kidding. By joining the Union, I’ve established a link between Tayo and the creations. I can summon them whenever I want. And if either of you is ever in trouble, you can call for help through Tayo."

Susan’s face lit up with relief. "That’s incredible!"

Adam’s expression turned serious as he raised a finger in warning. "But listen closely: if you summon them unnecessarily, I guarantee they won’t come when you truly need them. Tayo might look gentle, but she’s fiercely protective of me. She won’t tolerate being used for trivial matters."

As if on cue, Tayo, still perched on Adam’s shoulder, shifted her gaze to Christian, one of Adam’s earlier creations. Christian glanced away nervously, clearly intimidated by her.

For a while, the group stayed together, discussing their newfound responsibilities. Eventually, Susan and Leo prepared to leave.

"Thank you, Adam," Susan said earnestly. "I knew you’d have a solution to our problems."

Adam smiled softly. "And I’m glad you trusted me enough to come. Honestly, I’ve been dying to share this secret with someone."

The three of them laughed, and after a round of goodbyes, Susan and Leo departed.

---

Once alone with Tayo, Adam looked at her and said, "Shall we get back to work?"

Tayo hovered into the air and replied, "As you wish, Lord Adam."

She flew a short distance ahead as Adam donned his black outfit and mask, the very image of a dark guardian.

Holding out his hand, he called to Tayo, who perched gracefully on his palm. In an instant, they teleported to the city.

The streets were eerily quiet, the shadows long in the dim evening light. The lockdown due to the vampire threat had left the city desolate.

Adam reached out with his senses, detecting multiple vampires in the vicinity. Speaking telepathically to Tayo, he said, "There are many of them nearby. Let’s proceed."

Tayo’s glowing form shimmered, and a translucent purple interface appeared before Adam, reading: Visibility Enabled.

With her visibility now active to everyone, Tayo flew ahead, guiding Adam to a house. Inside, two vampires sat in silence.

Tayo slipped through the wall like a phantom while Adam, outside, used his telekinesis to hold them in place.

Tayo phased through the vampires, a ghostly transformation overtaking them.

They screamed in agony as their monstrous forms dissolved, revealing human appearances beneath.

The process was slow, meticulous, and exhausting.

Adam and Tayo spent hours converting vampires back into humans.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, their work continued into the night.

The Chapter ends here, with Adam and Tayo steadfast in their mission to restore humanity, one vampire at a time.
