Chapter 291: Entering the Base

Chapter: Entering the Base

---

The Chapter begins with Adam and his team entering the secure confines of the Union’s base. The heavy, metallic doors slide shut behind them with a mechanical hiss, sealing them inside.

The group moves in unison—Adam at the forefront, followed closely by Ani, Sona, Tayo, Phantom, and the energy field containing the restrained clones of Sona and Tayo.

The clones, wrapped tightly in Phantom’s glowing energy field, remain eerily silent, though their eyes burn with defiance. Phantom’s focus is unwavering as she keeps the energy field stable, ensuring the clones remain powerless and unable to escape.

As the group enters the main hall, all activity in the base halts. Zero, Ninja, Emily, Pratham (visible through a holographic screen), and Krish turn their attention toward them. Their gazes flicker between the restrained clones and the real Sona and Tayo hovering behind Adam. The resemblance is undeniable, and the air in the room grows thick with tension and confusion.

Krish, always quick to voice his thoughts, steps forward with a look of disbelief. "Master Adam," he begins hesitantly, his eyes darting to the clones, "what... what is this? Who are they?"

Adam, however, ignores Krish’s question, his focus fixed on Pratham. "Pratham," Adam says sharply, his tone leaving no room for argument, "prepare the containment room. We need a secure cell that can completely block their energy. They’re capable of teleportation, and we can’t risk them escaping."

Pratham’s holographic figure nods, his expression serious. "Understood, Lord Adam. I’ll initiate the protocols immediately."

Before Pratham can continue, Zero steps forward. "I can assist," he offers, his voice calm yet firm. "With my energy stabilizers, we can enhance the containment field."

Adam glances at Zero and nods in approval. "Good. Do it quickly."

With that, Pratham’s holographic image disappears, and Zero heads toward the containment chamber, leaving the rest of the group in the main hall.

Meanwhile, Phantom maintains her grip on the clones, the shimmering energy field pulsating faintly around them. Krish, Ninja, and Emily cautiously approach, their expressions a mix of curiosity and wariness.

Sona and Tayo, who are still hovering behind Adam, move closer as well. Their eyes remain fixed on the clones—an unsettling sight for both of them.

"What... what is this?" Tayo finally asks, her voice tinged with disbelief. "They’re... us."

Sona narrows her eyes, her tone more serious. "They don’t just look like us," she says quietly. "They have our powers too. I could feel it when they tried to attack."

Emily, standing nearby, looks between the real Sona and Tayo and their clones, her brows furrowed. "But how is that possible?" she asks. "How could someone create exact copies of you?"

Adam’s jaw tightens as he stares at the clones, his mind racing. The pieces of the puzzle are slowly coming together, but there’s still much he doesn’t know. He turns to Krish, his expression grim.

"I have a theory," Adam begins, his voice low but steady. "Do you remember the reports we received about an alliance being formed against us? An alliance involving the government?"

Krish nods cautiously. "Yes, Master. But we never had any solid evidence to confirm who was behind it."

Adam gestures toward the clones, his eyes darkening. "I think we just found our evidence," he says. "These clones... they were sent to infiltrate and disrupt us. Whoever created them used our names, our powers, to form that alliance. They’re trying to undermine everything we’ve built."

Krish’s eyes widen in realization. "You think these clones are connected to the alliance?"

Adam nods, his tone resolute. "I’m certain of it. They’re not just imitating us—they’re trying to replace us."

The weight of Adam’s words sinks in, and the room falls silent. Phantom’s grip on the clones tightens as she absorbs the information. "If that’s true," she says slowly, "then whoever is behind this has access to technology or magic far beyond what we anticipated."

Ninja clenches his fists, his usually calm demeanor giving way to anger. "How dare they use our identities like this," he mutters. "We can’t let them get away with this."

Emily steps closer to Adam, her voice steady but concerned. "What do we do now, Lord Adam? How do we stop this?"

Adam exhales deeply, his mind already formulating a plan. "First, we secure these clones," he says. "Once we’re sure they can’t escape, we’ll interrogate them. They have answers, and we’re going to get them—no matter what."

As Adam speaks, Phantom raises her hands, reinforcing the energy field around the clones. Blue chains of light spiral around them, glowing brighter with each passing moment.

The clones struggle against their restraints, their movements growing more frantic. "You won’t get anything out of us!" one of them hisses. "You’re wasting your time."

Phantom’s eyes narrow, her voice cold and unyielding. "We’ll see about that."

Adam steps forward, his gaze locked on the clones. "You can either cooperate," he says firmly, "or we’ll find other ways to make you talk. The choice is yours."

The clones glare at him but remain silent, their defiance unbroken.

Adam turning to Krish, his expression serious. "Prepare everyone," he says. "We’re not just dealing with clones—we’re dealing with an enemy who knows us better than we thought. And we need to be ready for whatever comes next."

Adam still standing in the main hall of the Union’s base, his expression tense. The atmosphere is heavy with the weight of recent revelations.

Suddenly, Zero enters the room, carrying a sleek, spherical black device in his hands. The sphere emits a soft white glow from its center, pulsing rhythmically like a heartbeat.

Simultaneously, Pratham’s holographic image reappears on the large screen above, his expression composed but attentive.

Zero approaches Adam with purposeful strides and stops before him. "Lord Adam," he says with a respectful bow, "the containment device is ready."

As Zero prepares to explain the device’s functionality, Adam raises a hand, stopping him mid-sentence. "Not now, Zero," Adam says, his tone weary. "I’m not in the mood for explanations. Just use it to contain them."

Zero glances at Adam, understanding his mood instantly. "As you wish, Lord Adam," he replies, stepping past Adam and heading toward Phantom, who is still holding the clones of Sona and Tayo within her energy field.

Phantom stands steady, her hands outstretched as she maintains her control over the clones. Her glowing blue energy envelops the two figures, keeping them suspended mid-air. As Zero approaches, he carefully lifts the black sphere, pointing the glowing center directly at the clones.

The clones glare at him, their defiance unbroken.

Zero presses a hidden button on the side of the sphere, and the white light at its center intensifies, becoming a concentrated beam that scans the clones from head to toe. The beam emits a soft hum as it works, and within moments, the sphere begins to expand.

To everyone’s surprise, the black sphere morphs into a transparent energy field, enveloping the clones completely. The glowing energy forms a spherical prison around them, locking them in mid-air.

As soon as the transparent field activates, Phantom’s blue energy dissipates instantly. She steps back, her expression one of astonishment. "Impressive," she murmurs, her voice laced with admiration. "This device cancels out even my power."

Zero smiles faintly at her comment. "It’s designed to neutralize any energy source within its radius," he explains. "Once activated, no abilities or powers can function inside the field."

Adam steps forward, his sharp gaze fixed on the floating clones. Their wings are limp, rendered useless by the containment field, and they hang in the air with their arms crossed defiantly.

Adam’s voice is cold and commanding as he addresses them. "Tell me about your master," he demands. "Who sent you?"

The clones remain silent, their expressions unyielding. Their defiance only fuels Adam’s irritation, and he takes another step closer. "Didn’t you hear me?" he says, his voice dropping to a dangerous tone. "Do you have any idea what we can do to you if you don’t cooperate?"

The clones exchange a glance, and then, to Adam’s surprise, they smile. Their expressions are taunting, almost amused.

One of them, the Sona clone, speaks first. "What makes you think we’re afraid of you?" she sneers.

The Tayo clone follows, her voice dripping with mockery. "Do you think capturing us here changes anything? You’re too late."

Adam’s eyes narrow at their words. He senses there’s more to their defiance than mere bravado. "What are you talking about?" he asks, his voice dangerously calm.

The Sona clone chuckles softly. "You think we came here without a plan?" she says. "The moment you captured us, we sent a telepathic message to our master. They already know everything."

The Tayo clone adds, her tone equally smug, "You can kill us if you want. It doesn’t matter. Our master can create more of us—stronger, smarter versions. This is just the beginning."

Their words send a chill through the room. Adam clenches his fists, his frustration mounting. "You underestimate us," he says firmly. "You think your master has the upper hand, but you don’t know what we’re capable of."

Despite his warning, the clones remain unfazed, their smirks unwavering. Their confidence hints at something deeper, something Adam knows he must uncover.

The Chapter ends with Adam stepping back, his mind racing with possibilities. The clones may be contained, but their words leave a lingering sense of unease in the air.

As the team gathers around the containment field, Adam’s resolve hardens. Whatever lies ahead, he knows one thing for certain—this battle is far from over.
