Chapter 274: Meeting A Friend
Chapter: Meeting A Friend
---
After an intense workout session in the park, Adam teleports directly back to his house. His body feels the strain of the morning exercises, but his mind is energized.
The moment he arrives, he heads straight to his room, his footsteps quick and purposeful.
Without wasting any time, Adam grabs a towel and steps into the bathroom, allowing the cool water to wash away the sweat and fatigue from his body.
Adam is in a huge hurry that’s why he is doing everything very quickly and that’s why he has directly teleported to his home instead of walking or running to his home.
As he emerges from the bathroom, his mother, Rachel, spots him passing through the hallway. She raises an eyebrow, her green eyes sparkling with curiosity. "You’re up earlier than usual, Adam," she remarks, her voice laced with surprise.
Adam gave the news of school opening to his parents last night. After hearing this, his parents were very happy and they told him beforehand to check all his belongings.
Adam, drying his hair with the towel draped over his shoulder, chuckles softly. "Well, school’s starting today, Mom. Gotta get back into the rhythm," he replies casually.
Rachel’s face softens, a warm smile spreading across her lips. The previous night, during dinner, Adam had informed his parents about the school’s notification.
Seeing him so motivated and active now, Rachel couldn’t help but feel relieved. "It’s good to see things getting back to normal," she thought.
When things did not become normal, Rachel used to worry a lot about Adam. She used to think that Adam is still a child and he should live his childhood and not live in such a terrible dream.
But now Rachel is very happy because things are getting back to normal, she also has to go to work today because she has also received a message from her office.
Normally, Adam would still be lounging in his room at this hour, engrossed in his training or studies. But today, his unusual energy brought a sense of optimism to the household.
Fully dressed and refreshed, Adam makes his way to the dining room for breakfast. The tantalizing aroma of freshly cooked food wafts through the air as he steps inside. At the dining table, his father, Ricky, is straightening his tie, preparing for his day.
Ricky glances up at Adam and grins. "Looks like we’re on the same page today, son," he says with a lighthearted tone. "Excited to head back to school after all this time?"
Adam sits down, grabbing a piece of toast from the table. "Yeah, I’m pretty excited," he admits. "What about you? Excited to head to work?"
Ricky chuckles, his laughter warm and genuine. "I’m always excited for a new day," he replies. "Every day’s a chance to learn something new."
Their playful exchange is interrupted by Rachel, who enters the room carrying a tray of freshly cooked eggs and bacon. "You two can chit-chat later," she says sternly, though her eyes betray a hint of amusement. "Sit down and eat. I’m not going to tell you twice."
Adam and Ricky exchange a quick glance before complying, both smiling at Rachel’s assertiveness. They settle at the table, enjoying the hearty breakfast she’s prepared.
As they eat, Ricky glances at Adam with a curious expression. "So," he begins, "have you gotten everything ready for school? Need me to drop you off?"
Adam quickly shakes his head. "No, no, it’s fine. I’ll go on my own," he says, his response almost too quick.
Rachel and Ricky exchange knowing looks, their smiles widening. "What’s the rush, Adam?" Ricky teases. "Are you meeting someone special? Maybe a girl?"
Adam freezes mid-bite, his cheeks turning a faint shade of pink. "No! Nothing like that!" he protests, his voice slightly higher than usual.
Rachel chuckles softly, and Ricky laughs outright, clearly enjoying their son’s reaction. "Alright, alright," Ricky says, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "We won’t pry... for now."
The family shares a laugh before returning to their breakfast. The lighthearted moment brings a sense of warmth and normalcy that had been missing for weeks.
As Adam finishes his meal, he stands and grabs his school bag from his room. Sona and Tayo, who have been quietly observing the morning activities, flutter over to join him. "Ready to go?" Adam asks, glancing at the two small figures hovering beside him.
With a quick nod, the trio heads toward the door. Adam pauses briefly to wave goodbye to his parents. "See you later, Mom! Dad!"
"Have a good day!" Rachel calls after him, her voice filled with warmth. Ricky waves from his spot at the table, a proud smile on his face.
Stepping outside, Adam feels the crisp morning air against his face. The sun is just beginning to rise, casting a golden glow across the quiet streets. As he walks, his phone buzzes in his pocket.
Pulling it out, Adam sees Leo’s name flashing on the screen. A look of surprise crosses his face as he answers the call. "Leo? What’s up? Don’t tell me you’re skipping school already," he jokes.
Leo’s voice comes through, light and teasing. "I was about to ask you the same thing. Are you even coming to school today?"
Adam laughs, shaking his head. "What makes you think I wouldn’t?"
Leo chuckles. "Just checking. Where are you right now?"
Adam glances around and gives his location. "I’m on my way. What about you?"
"Same," Leo replies. "Let’s meet at the corner near the old bakery."
"Sounds good," Adam says, ending the call.
A few minutes later, Adam spots Leo waiting at the designated spot. The two friends exchange quick greetings, their smiles reflecting a shared excitement for the day ahead.
"You ready for this?" Leo asks, his tone playful.
"Always," Adam replies with a grin.
The Chapter ends with Adam and Leo walking toward school together, their laughter echoing down the quiet street as they prepare to face the new day.
