Chapter 214: The Awakening of Zero
Chapter: The Awakening of Zero
Adam sat motionless, staring at the dark blue spherical organism that now rested before him.
The glowing golden patterns on its surface shimmered faintly, and the light blue ring around its circumference pulsated rhythmically, giving the creation an almost hypnotic quality.
As Adam continued to observe, a translucent blue window materialized before him, displaying a question:

Do you wish to name and assign a language to your creation, Technospecies?

Adam didn’t hesitate. Mentally, he selected "Yes." Instantly, he felt a powerful surge of energy coursing through his body. It was far more intense than anything he had experienced before, leaving him momentarily breathless.
The orb reacted to Adam’s decision. The golden glow within its core began to fade, replaced by an increasingly vibrant blue light that illuminated the entire room.
The light danced along the intricate patterns etched across its surface, resembling luminous tattoos.
To Adam’s astonishment, the orb spoke in a calm, resonant voice. "Lord Adam, please grant me a name."
The brilliance of its light intensified, casting shadows across the walls as Adam considered the request. He smiled faintly, a sense of excitement bubbling within him. "Your name shall be Zero."
The moment he uttered the name, the orb erupted in a burst of golden light, its brilliance almost blinding. The glow surrounded the orb, transforming it before Adam’s eyes.
Zero’s form began to shift, its spherical structure elongating and expanding.
Within seconds, it had reshaped itself into a humanoid figure, mirroring Adam’s height and overall structure.
It now stood upright, with two legs, two arms, and a head, though its surface remained distinctly alien—smooth and dark blue, devoid of features like eyes, hair, or even a mouth.
The glowing blue patterns on its body shimmered more vividly than ever, resembling energy circuits.
Adam observed the transformation with fascination, noting the precision of Zero’s movements as it adjusted to its new form.
Meanwhile, his allies tensed, their wariness evident.
Sona and Tayo hovered closer to Adam, their wings fluttering nervously. Ninja, who stood by the window, instinctively rested his hand on one of his swords, ready to strike if necessary.
Adam raised a hand to calm them. "Relax," he said, his voice firm but steady. He turned back to Zero. "Is this your true form?"
Zero’s glowing patterns pulsed rhythmically as it responded. "No, Lord Adam. This is merely a form I’ve adopted for mobility and interaction. My true form is what you first created—the spherical state."
As if to demonstrate, Zero’s body shifted once again, shrinking back into its original spherical shape.
The transformation was seamless, its surface rippling like liquid before solidifying into the orb. "This is my natural form," Zero explained. "However, I can adapt to various structures to better serve you."
Adam studied Zero intently, intrigued by its capabilities. "That’s remarkable," he murmured. "You can adapt to different forms?"
Zero’s glow brightened. "Yes, Lord Adam. If you provide me with a host—such as a machine or robot—I can integrate with it, enhancing its functionality and capabilities."
The room fell silent as Adam processed this revelation. He turned to Pratham, whose avatar flickered slightly on the monitor. "Pratham, do we have any robots or machines available?"
Pratham’s voice carried a hint of hesitation. "Yes, Lord Adam. There’s an incomplete robot in the manufacturing unit, but it’s far from operational. We lack the necessary components and equipment to make it functional."
Adam turned back to Zero. "You heard him. The robot is incomplete. Are you certain you can make it work?"
Zero’s blue patterns glowed brightly, signaling its confidence. "Yes, Lord Adam. Just give me access to the robot, and I will handle the rest."
Adam nodded, clearly impressed. "Very well." He looked back at Pratham. "Send someone to retrieve the robot from the manufacturing unit. Bring back the detection device as well. We’ll need everything to test Zero’s capabilities."
Before Pratham could respond, Sona flew forward, her small frame glowing faintly in the dim room. "Lord Adam, let me go," she offered.
Adam hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, Sona. Be careful."
The room was quiet as Sona disappeared in a flash of light, teleporting to the manufacturing unit.
The familiar sensation of teleportation faded as she arrived in the sprawling facility, its vast expanse filled with rows of machines humming softly as they carried out their automated tasks.
Sona’s small figure floated gracefully in the air, her green dress shimmering under the faint overhead lights.
She glanced around, her eyes catching the movements of robotic arms assembling tiny components with precision.
"So this is the manufacturing unit," she murmured. "It’s much brighter than last time."
Her voice activated a nearby screen, where Pratham’s avatar appeared, his form shimmering in a bluish hue.
"Miss Sona," Pratham said, his tone calm, "the robot you need is seated ahead. You’ll also find the detection device on the table to your right."
Sona’s gaze shifted to where Pratham directed. She saw the incomplete robot seated on the floor, its white, plastic-like body unmoving.
Nearby, on a cluttered table, lay three detection devices—one disassembled, with wires and components scattered around it, and two intact devices sitting neatly beside it.
Flying over to the table, Sona carefully picked up one of the intact devices, its size nearly matching her own small frame.
She then approached the robot, landing lightly on its shoulder. Resting her hand on its head, she smiled faintly. "Alright, little one, let’s go."
With a flash of light, Sona and the robot teleported back to Adam’s room.
The room brightened momentarily as Sona reappeared, the robot now sitting on Adam’s bed with her perched on top.
In her hand was the detection device, which she held out triumphantly.
Adam approached, his gaze scanning the robot intently. Ninja moved closer as well, standing at the ready to help adam to left the robot.
The robot was small, barely reaching Adam’s waist. Its entire body was white, with smooth surfaces resembling plastic.
Its eyes were simple lenses, unblinking and devoid of expression. There was no outer skin, no coverings to conceal its internal structure.
Adam crouched slightly, examining it more closely. "This robot looks incomplete," he remarked, turning to Pratham on the monitor. "Is this one of your prototypes?"
Pratham’s avatar nodded. "Yes, Lord Adam. It’s one of my earliest prototypes—functional, but far from perfect. There are numerous flaws and limitations."
Adam sighed and straightened, gesturing to Ninja. Together, they moved the robot to the floor, placing it beside Zero in its slime-like form. Adam then turned to Zero. "Here it is, Zero. Let’s see what you can do."
Zero’s glowing blue patterns brightened as it moved toward the robot. Its voice, calm yet eager, echoed through the room. "As you wish, Lord Adam. It will be my honor to demonstrate my abilities."
The glowing slime shifted, its form rippling as it spread over the robot’s body. In seconds, Zero had completely enveloped the machine, its dark blue surface merging seamlessly with the robot’s structure.
The transformation was immediate—the robot’s once-white exterior now gleamed a deep blue, with glowing lines of light blue energy tracing intricate patterns across its body.
The lines extended from its head to its limbs, forming a network of connections. Its once-dull eyes now glowed faintly, and when it opened its mouth to speak, its voice resonated with newfound clarity.
"Lord Adam, I have fully integrated with the robot. I am now in complete control."
The robot stood, its movements fluid as it tested its newly acquired limbs.
Despite its small size, it moved with an agility that surprised everyone in the room.
It flexed its fingers, its glowing patterns pulsing rhythmically as it adjusted to the body.
Adam watched, intrigued. "Now that you have a body, Zero, can you tell us what you’re capable of?"
Zero’s gaze shifted to the detection device in Adam’s hand. "Lord Adam, I can integrate this device into my body and enhance its functionality. Additionally, I can upgrade my systems to perform advanced analyses and tasks."
Adam raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Let’s see what you can do, then. Start with the detection device."
Zero extended a hand toward the device. Tiny blue particles, resembling nanotechnology, emerged from its fingertips and enveloped the device.
The detection device dissolved into the particles, which flowed back into Zero’s body.
Moments later, Zero’s chest shimmered. The previously solid exterior shifted, revealing a hollow space in the center of its torso.
From within, a bright red light began to glow, while a metallic silver structure emerged slightly above it. The transformation was intricate, yet seamless.
Zero opened its glowing eyes. "Lord Adam, the detection device has been successfully integrated. I can now identify power holders within a wide radius. Furthermore, I’ve discovered something unique about power holders."
Adam’s curiosity deepened. "What do you mean?"
Zero’s voice took on a more serious tone. "Power holders possess a crystal embedded within their chest. This crystal is the source of their abilities—a core that powers their unique strengths."
Adam’s eyes widened. "What did you just say?"
The room fell silent, everyone staring at Zero in shock. The revelation hung heavy in the air, a game-changing discovery that raised as many questions as it answered.
The Chapter ended on this note, with Adam and his allies grappling with the implications of Zero’s newfound abilities and the secrets it had uncovered.
