Chapter 205: A Hidden Vault
Chapter: A Hidden Vault
---
The Chapter begins with Sona and Tayo floating inside a bustling lottery house. Tayo, clearly puzzled, asks Sona, "What exactly are we doing here?"
Tayo is not able to understand Sona’s plan at all as to why she has brought both of them here because they had come to collect money for the union but no money is visible here.
Sona replies confidently, "Didn’t you hear Lord Adam? We need funds desperately."
Sona is seeing those lottery tickets and she wants to withdraw that money from here as quickly as possible.
Tayo glances around skeptically. "And how exactly do we get money from this place?"
Sona gestures towards the colorful lottery tickets lining the walls. "From these lotteries! I’ve read from lord Adam’s memories that some people have struck it rich by buying tickets."
Tayo gets very angry due to Sona’s behavior and wants to say many things to her.
Before Tayo can respond, Mikasa’s voice echoes in their minds, laced with sarcasm. "I doubt the Union will get far with lottery winnings, Miss Sona."
Hearing Mikasa’s remark, Tayo gives Sona a playful slap on the back of her head. "She’s right! We don’t have time for this nonsense. Did you forget how important our mission is?"
Tayo started thinking how she brought the money for the union so quickly,
Sona winces and rubs her head. "Alright, alright. If you’re so smart, do you have a better idea?"
Mikasa interjects, "I might. Listen carefully."
Intrigued, Sona and Tayo hover higher into the air, their focus now entirely on Mikasa’s plan.
Both of them know that Mikasa handles all these matters in the best manner, so both of them listen to Mikasa very carefully.
Mikasa begins, "When Lord Adam first created me, I discovered a rapidly growing criminal organization operating in his city. At the time, I saved their activities in an obscure corner of the internet. They didn’t seem like a significant threat to Lord Adam, so I left it alone."
Then Sona remembers how she had chased away those goons using her Nightmare skill, since then Sona had not heard about those goons, she has heard about them only from Mikasa now.
Sona, recalling their earlier skirmishes, exclaims, "Oh, those are the same people I helped chase away!"
Mikasa continues, "Yes. Recently, I revisited their activities and learned that they hoarded vast amounts of black money and gold. They stored it in cash to avoid government attention. Some of it might still be hidden in their bases."
Hearing this, Sona’s eyes light up. "Perfect! Just tell us where to go, and we’ll loot it."
Both of them were waiting for this news and as soon as they hear this news, a smile comes on their faces and they find a way to get the money so quickly.
Mikasa hesitates. "There’s a chance that most of the money has been moved, but it’s unlikely they’ve spent it all. I’m sending the coordinates to their last known hideout telepathically. Good luck."
Mikasa hasn’t been monitoring the place for a long time because she has been very busy and she is not sure if the money is there or not, she can only guess based on the previous information.
Mikasa uses Sona’s telepathic link and gets the exact coordinates of the place from the Internet and sends it into Sona and Tayo’s minds.
Sona and Tayo close their eyes as the information flows into their minds. Without wasting a moment, they teleport to their destination.
The scene shifts to a seemingly normal pet store. Inside, animals like birds, fish, and hamsters are housed in clean enclosures. A middle-aged man is seated at a desk in a backroom, working on his computer.
A 17-year-old boy, dressed in a store uniform, manages the counter outside. Everything appears ordinary until Sona and Tayo suddenly materialize in mid-air outside the store.
Sona squints at the building. "Mikasa, are you sure this is the place?"
Seeing all those animals, Sona cannot believe that there can be so much money in such a place and she gets very confused.
Mikasa confirms. "Yes. The last known stash of cash and gold was hidden here."
If Mikasa’s claim is true, then this is the safest place because even Sona herself cannot imagine that there is a lot of money and gold kept under or around this shop.
With a determined look, Sona says, "Alright, let’s find it."
Sona and Tayo enter the pet store, drawing minimal attention. Sona’s eyes scan the premises, and she notices a door to the left.
Using her telekinetic abilities, she silently unlocks and opens the door.
The teenager at the counter notices the door swinging open on its own and looks toward it, confused.
Behind the door, they find the middle-aged man in the backroom, sitting at a desk. He appears engrossed in his work, surrounded by stacks of papers and shelves lined with pet supplies.
Tayo looks around, unimpressed. "This place doesn’t seem like it’s hiding any treasure."
Sona grins mischievously. "Do you think a thief wouldn’t know how to hide their loot properly? Let me handle this."
Closing her eyes, Sona uses her mind-reading powers to delve into the middle-aged man’s thoughts.
She hears fragments: "It’s been so long since the boss contacted us. Where could he be? I hope no one’s found the cash."
Sona subtly implants a suggestion into his mind. Her voice whispers in his thoughts, "What if someone found your gold? Go check it now."
The man suddenly stiffens, glancing nervously toward a hidden panel behind his desk.
The middle-aged man stands abruptly, his face a mix of doubt and urgency. His gaze shifts toward the young boy outside the room, as if suspecting him of tampering with something.
Meanwhile, Sona watches with satisfaction, whispering to Tayo, "See? I told you he’d give it away. Let’s wait and see what he does next."
As the man moves toward the hidden panel, the Chapter ends, leaving readers on the edge of their seats, eager to see whether Sona and Tayo will uncover the criminal organization’s secret stash.
