Chapter 155: The Machine’s Collapse

Chapter: The Machine’s Collapse

The deafening hum of the machine filled the chamber as its mechanisms roared to life.

A vivid green glow emanated from the central structure, casting eerie shadows across the room.

UV1 stood before the machine, his face alight with a triumphant smile. "Finally," he muttered, his voice tinged with anticipation.

The three crystals embedded within the device began to vibrate violently, their cracks glowing ominously under the strain.

Each second felt like an eternity as they threatened to unleash their devastating energy on Pratham and Mikasa, who remained trapped within a protective brown energy shield.

Adam stood at a distance, his piercing gaze fixed on the scene. His thoughts raced. I can’t let this happen. That machine... it’s already too far gone. Without hesitation, he raised both hands, his focus narrowing solely on the machine.

Suddenly, the room quaked. Piece by piece, the machine began to disassemble itself. Bolts, panels, and wires floated away as if pulled by an invisible force.

UV1’s smug expression twisted into one of shock. "No... this can’t be!" he exclaimed, his voice rising in panic. He turned his attention to Adam, fury blazing in his eyes.

"Not yet!" UV1 growled. His mysterious skill activated, causing his eyes to shift from a deep blue to an intense brown. Waves of invisible energy surged toward Adam.

Adam felt the subtle pressure in the air, like an unseen hand pushing against him. But he stood unflinching, his focus unbroken. With a flick of his wrist, the energy dissipated harmlessly.

UV1’s frustration grew. His skill had no effect. "What... how?!" he muttered, his voice trembling with disbelief.

Meanwhile, the once-glowing green energy within the machine flickered and died, the structure now reduced to a heap of disassembled parts scattered across the chamber floor.

Adam, his expression unreadable, clenched his fists and cast a determined look toward UV1.

UV1, stunned but unyielding, clenched his jaw. "You won’t stop me!" he roared. Channeling his rage, he extended both hands toward Adam. The debris littering the battlefield—shards of glass, twisted metal, and rubble—began to vibrate violently.

Within moments, the fragments shot toward Adam like deadly projectiles. Among them, snake-like tendrils of dark energy slithered through the air, their movements erratic yet precise.

Adam’s sharp eyes tracked every approaching threat. He inhaled deeply, his mind calculating. Then, with a casual snap of his fingers, his teleportation skill activated. In an instant, the storm of debris vanished.

The chamber fell silent. UV1’s eyes darted around, searching desperately for the missing objects. "Where did they go?!" he demanded, his voice filled with frustration.

Unfazed, Adam lowered his hand. UV1’s confusion turned to anger. Raising his arms once more, he prepared another assault. But this time, Adam was ready. The moment UV1 moved, Adam’s eyes glinted with a cold determination.

From every corner of the chamber, an arsenal of laser guns floated into the air, their sleek forms humming ominously. The soldiers’ weapons, previously discarded in the chaos, had become tools of UV1’s relentless aggression. The air grew dense with tension as the guns aimed directly at Adam.

Before Adam could react, a barrage of laser beams erupted, their searing light cutting through the smoky air. The beams moved with blinding speed, converging on Adam’s position.

But just as they were about to strike, Adam vanished. His teleportation skill had activated once again, leaving nothing but a plume of smoke in his wake.

UV1 smirked, his confidence returning. "You can’t run forever," he sneered, directing the floating guns to fire continuously at the spot where Adam had stood.

The relentless assault created a deafening cacophony, the lasers carving into the ground and filling the room with thick smoke. UV1’s eyes scanned the destruction, his breath ragged from exertion.

As the smoke began to clear, a massive crater was revealed where Adam had been moments ago. UV1 chuckled darkly, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

"Finally," he said, his shoulders sagging in relief. But then, a voice cut through the silence, freezing him in place.

The hall was dim, lit sporadically by the flickering remnants of sparks and shattered lights from the chaos.

Uv1 turned slowly, his face a twisted amalgam of surprise and despair. Behind him, standing unscathed amidst the wreckage, was Adam.

"Were you looking for me?" Adam’s voice was calm, even serene, cutting through the oppressive silence like a blade. His dark figure stood tall and imposing, his unflinching gaze locked onto Uv1.

Uv1 froze, his mind racing. His elaborate attack, fueled by the full might of his abilities, had failed.

Adam hadn’t just survived; he looked untouched, as though he had casually sidestepped destruction itself.

A storm of emotions brewed within Uv1—shock, fear, and the bitter sting of hopelessness.

"No matter what I do," he thought, "I can’t defeat him."

But the bitterness in his heart, forged over years of pain and rage, refused to surrender. Clenching his fists tightly,

Uv1 reminded himself of his purpose. His eyes darkened with resolve as he straightened his posture, brushing away the blood from his wounds with trembling hands.

"Don’t think I’ll back down so easily!" he declared, his voice quivering yet determined. His body bore the marks of their intense battle, but his spirit was far from broken.

Locking eyes with Adam, he snarled, "Lord Adam, do you truly have what it takes to kill me?"

Adam remained motionless, his expression unreadable. His dark eyes glimmered faintly in the dim light, betraying neither aggression nor mercy.

Uv1’s challenge hung heavily in the air as he began to step forward, each movement slow and deliberate.

"I attacked you before," Adam said finally, his tone cool and measured. "If you hadn’t shielded your face, you might not be standing here now. Perhaps you would have died."

Uv1 smirked faintly, his lips curling into a bitter smile. "And yet, I am here," he replied, inching closer. "Perhaps it is not in you to truly kill your enemies, even when they stand before you."

Adam remained silent, his gaze fixed on Uv1. The air between them crackled with tension as Uv1 pressed on.

"I have realized something, Lord Adam," he continued, his voice softening. "You hesitate. Despite your power, despite your might... you cannot bring yourself to destroy me. Perhaps it is because I am your creation—a part of you. Isn’t that true?"

Still, Adam said nothing. His silence was unnerving, his stillness impenetrable.

Uv1’s smirk faltered as doubt crept into his mind. His adversary’s calm demeanor was not one of arrogance but unshakable confidence. It was as though Adam was untouchable, unshakable, and above all, unimpressed.

Finally, Uv1 closed the gap between them, standing mere inches away.

With a sudden burst of determination, he reached out and grabbed Adam’s shoulders with both hands, his grip firm and unwavering. "You can’t kill me," he hissed, his voice low and venomous. "But I can destroy us both."

Adam’s expression didn’t change. His eyes bore into Uv1’s, unblinking and steady. The weight of his gaze was almost suffocating, as though daring Uv1 to follow through on his threat.

"Why isn’t he reacting?" Uv1 thought, his heart pounding. Despite his bravado, a flicker of uncertainty ignited within him.

Yet, he pushed it aside, his resolve hardening. He slammed his hand against his chest, activating the mechanism hidden within his body. A low hum began to emanate from him, growing louder and more menacing with each passing moment.

"I’ll sacrifice myself," Uv1 growled, his voice laced with desperation. "Even if it means taking you with me. I’ll show you what it means to face true destruction!"

Adam remained still, his expression unreadable. Uv1 searched his eyes for any sign of fear, anger, or even acknowledgment, but found nothing.

Adam’s silence was deafening, his inaction maddening. It was as though he was silently telling Uv1: Do it. I’ll endure it, just as I’ve endured everything else.

The hum reached a crescendo, the vibrations rattling the very walls of the hall. Uv1’s body glowed faintly, the energy within him building to an uncontrollable level.

His breathing was ragged, his muscles tense as he prepared for the inevitable.

"This will work," Uv1 thought, clinging to the hope that this final act would succeed where all else had failed. "You might survive," he whispered, his voice trembling. "But even you won’t come out of this unscathed."

And then, with a deafening roar, the explosion erupted.

The world was consumed by a blinding light, the shockwave tearing through the hall with devastating force. The ground trembled, the air burned, and the very fabric of the space seemed to shatter under the sheer magnitude of the blast.

As the dust settled and the light began to fade, silence once again reigned. The remnants of the explosion left a massive crater where Adam had stood, the ground scorched and blackened. For a moment, there was no movement, no sound—only the aftermath of destruction.

Uv1’s plan had come to fruition. Or so it seemed.

And the Chapter ended, the tension hanging heavy in the air, leaving the fate of their confrontation shrouded in suspense.
