I am the creator of New Life on the Earth -
Chapter 144: The Creator’s Shadow
Chapter 144: The Creator’s Shadow
UV1’s piercing gaze locked onto Ani as she stood silently in the center of the throne room.
Her white hair glowed faintly under the room’s ethereal light, her blue eyes reflecting a mix of calm and defiance.
She didn’t cower or tremble. Her stillness was unsettling, her presence a stark contrast to the reactions UV1 was accustomed to—fear, submission, and despair.
"I know what you are," UV1 said finally, his voice deep and measured. It echoed through the chamber like a decree.
Ani met his gaze without flinching. Her expression remained steady as she replied, her voice calm yet resolute, "And what of it? What does that matter to me?"
Hearing Ani’s words, all the people sitting there get very shocked because for the first time in many years they have seen someone speaking in front of the All Father and that too without any fear.
The throne room fell silent. Her words hung in the air, cutting through the oppressive atmosphere like a blade.
For a brief moment, UV1 stood still, processing her unexpected response. He was used to instilling fear, to watching others crumble under his presence.
But this girl—this being from his Creator’s species—showed no signs of submission.
UV1’s lips curved into a faint, mirthless smile. Beneath his composed exterior, a storm brewed.
Meeting someone from his Creator’s kind stirred emotions he had long buried: awe, uncertainty, and an ever-gnawing fear.
For all his power, the shadow of his Creator loomed large, a constant reminder of his own limitations.
He descended the steps of his throne, his tall figure casting a long shadow that stretched toward Ani.
His boots struck the polished floor with deliberate force, the sound resonating through the room.
As he stood before Ani, the difference in their sizes became apparent.
UV1’s towering height of six feet made her appear small and fragile, yet her unyielding stance made her seem invincible.
"Interesting," he murmured, studying her with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. His voice dropped, filled with a strange intensity. "Tell me... is he here as well?"
Everyone there gets very confused after hearing this, they are unable to understand what he is asking this girl.
Ani stiffened. Though UV1 didn’t mention a name, she knew exactly who he was referring to.
Her mind raced, but her face betrayed nothing. She refused to give him the satisfaction of an answer.
UV1’s sharp eyes caught the subtle shift in her demeanor. A flicker of surprise crossed his face before his expression hardened. He straightened, stepping back slightly, his thoughts swirling.
She knows. She understands who I’m speaking of. And yet, she refuses to answer... Could it be true? Could the Creator really have arrived?
UV1 gets very scared thinking that he was always preparing for this but still he is not fully prepared to face his creator nor does he have complete information about the creator so that he can fight him.
Dread crept into UV1’s mind, his worst fear threatening to materialize. If the Creator is here, my chances of survival are slim. He won’t spare me. He’ll destroy me without hesitation.
The weight of this realization pressed heavily on UV1. He glanced at Ani again, her silence cutting deeper than any words could.
The tension in the throne room thickened. Among the seated individuals observing the exchange, a younger figure suddenly rose.
The man was UV1’s younger brother, his features similar but softer, lacking the imposing aura of his elder sibling.
The younger brother walked toward Ani with measured steps, his face calm yet carrying a hint of defiance.
UV1’s eyes narrowed as he tracked his brother’s movements but chose to remain silent, his unease evident in the tightness of his jaw.
When the younger brother finally spoke, his voice was clear and deliberate. "Is Lord Adam here?"
The question sent a ripple of shock through the room. Whispers erupted among the onlookers, their eyes darting between Ani and UV1. The name "Adam" carried weight—so much so that its mere utterance seemed like an act of rebellion.
UV1’s gaze darkened. His hand twitched at his side as he struggled to maintain his composure. Turning to the soldiers standing nearby, he barked, "Arrest him. Now."
The soldiers hesitated for only a moment before snapping into action. More troops entered the hall, their footsteps echoing as they surrounded the younger brother. Despite their overwhelming numbers, he didn’t resist.
Instead, he smiled—a calm, knowing smile that seemed to unsettle everyone present. He turned to UV1, his eyes gleaming with a mix of triumph and disdain. "Finally," he said softly, his voice carrying a venomous edge, "I’ll get to see your downfall."
UV1’s expression remained stoic, but his fists clenched at his sides. His brother’s words struck a nerve.
"For years," the younger brother continued, "I’ve tried to protect this city—Father’s creation—from your tyranny. But now, your worst fear is coming true, isn’t it? The Creator is here, and you know what that means."
The soldiers dragged the younger brother away, his defiant smile lingering even as he was forced out of the hall.
The murmurs among the onlookers died down as UV1’s gaze swept across the room.
His presence was suffocating, his anger palpable. The audience lowered their eyes to the floor, unwilling to meet his gaze.
---
UV1 remained standing in the center of the hall, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. His brother’s words echoed in his mind, fueling his growing unease.
I can’t kill him, UV1 thought bitterly. The power granted by the titles prevents me from eliminating someone on my level. Otherwise, I would’ve made an example of him long ago.
His thoughts turned inward, the weight of his responsibilities clashing with his deep-seated fears.
He looked once more at Ani, standing quietly in the center of the hall. She was a living reminder of everything he feared most—his Creator, the one being he could never hope to surpass.
The Chapter ends here, with UV1 grappling with his fear and authority, his throne room heavy with tension and unspoken truths.
