Chapter 61: Chapter 60 We don’t need to pay more, Yaha!

Wei Tianyang pulled the car door open, ready to sit back inside.

But after some thought, he felt it wasn’t right.

The enemy had already promised revenge, and he was afraid that this place was now heavily surrounded. Moreover, that old man knew his name and probably knew about his abilities...

Whoever came for revenge would certainly not be as simple as bodyguards in suits armed with gunpowder weapons...

"Uncle, make a call to Yaha. We’re leaving now," Wei Tianyang said.

The driver took out his cellphone and dialed Yaha’s number, sensing the danger as well. If the person across was indeed a spokesperson for war proxies, they could not withstand this revenge with just the three of them, without the protection of Red Pharmaceutical.

They needed to get back to the Pei Guode Hotel as soon as possible.

Watching the driver hold the phone motionless, Wei Tianyang became anxious. He had a bad feeling surrounding his heart and couldn’t help but recall Yaha’s expressions throughout the journey and the words he said before leaving the car.

"No one’s answering the phone," said the driver.

"You know which floor he’s on, right?" asked Wei Tianyang.

"It’s written on this card," the driver said as he handed the card to Wei Tianyang.

Moby Dick held Yaha’s chin, while in his other hand, he pinched a silver hook.

"Your body structure seems to be different from other people," Moby Dick said.

"Does gender matter that much?" Yaha asked.

"I’m aware of this disease, sexless yet with a woman’s face and smooth skin. Just by hearing the voice, one would think it’s a woman," Moby Dick said.

"Take what you want from me! And then, don’t forget your promise!" Yaha said gravely.

At that moment, he was like a trapped cat.

"It seems you can’t wait any longer. Let’s begin, shall we? How do you usually entertain yourself in private? Which part of your body do you like most? Hmm? Let’s start there..." Moby Dick said with a smile.

He rubbed the small hook along the line of Yaha’s waist, and suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

Bang, bang, bang.

Moby Dick frowned, looking toward the door with a furious expression.

"Who?!"

"Yaha, it’s time to go."

It was Wei Tianyang’s voice.

Yaha was startled.

Moby Dick looked at Yaha and angrily said, "I told you to control your dog!"

The doorframe issued a crackling sound as the delicate wooden beams split.

Then, the electronic lock fell to the floor, leaving a large hole in the door.

Wei Tianyang pushed the door open to see a naked Moby Dick standing in front of Yaha, while Yaha, stripped of his shirt, had his hands handcuffed and was hanging from a steel beam in the ceiling.

"What the hell is this?!" Wei Tianyang yelled.

"And who the fuck are you?!" Moby Dick yelled back.

"Don’t kill him, we still need him..." Yaha was almost pleading.

He dropped the small hook and picked up a split whip from a table nearby, advancing towards Wei Tianyang.

"Today, I’ll discipline this dog properly in front of his master!" Moby Dick said as he raised the whip.

Wei Tianyang took a step forward and pushed him.

He didn’t use much force since Yaha had crossed a city to meet him, suggesting this man was of great importance.

But the force was still too great.

Moby Dick felt as if a pile driver had slammed into his right chest, and then the powerful inertial force lifted him off his feet and sent him flying towards a table full of bizarre props.

He knocked over the table, causing the props to clink and clang as they fell to the ground, then he sat down heavily on his rear.

Struggling to endure the pain, he turned to look at the ground, his hands scrounging through the pile of props, silently counting a total of eighteen...but the scalpel was nowhere to be found.

Wei Tianyang no longer paid attention to him. He drew out his Bone Knife and swiftly cut through the chains of the handcuffs binding Yaha, then took off his own jacket and draped it over him.

Yaha’s face flushed as he quickly zipped up the jacket and tidied his disheveled long white hair.

"How did you..." Yaha began.

"It might be Sethiyan Federation’s people... They just gave me an ultimatum below. I felt it was dangerous to stay here any longer," Wei Tianyang said.

"Oh..." Yaha nodded.

"What about him? What’s all this about?" Wei Tianyang asked again.

They looked towards Moby Dick, who sat on the ground, his expression vacant, his left hand searching for something beneath him. A pool of blood was spreading on the carpet.

"This is... our price... Ishmael," said Yaha.

"We’ve paid the price already, Yaha. No one can make me pay more. You’re too naive! Did you really think they would give you what they promised? Isn’t it because we once believed that we were dragged into hell? We are already in the deepest depths of hell, there is nothing left for us to give, no one has the right or the power to make us pay any more, Yaha... It’s their turn to pay the price," Wei Tianyang said angrily.

He held Yaha’s face in his hands, his blood-red eyes staring into Yaha’s, and said, "Look at me, Yaha, tell me, what do you see in my eyes?"

"Anger... Ishmael, the anger I wanted..." Yaha trembled, his voice low.

"That’s also what you should have!" Wei Tianyang said.

He pulled Yaha’s arm and yanked him out of the gloomy room and through the hallway, with eyes glowing like red signal lamps.

The two took the elevator down and got back into the car. The driver didn’t say much, quickly starting the engine and speeding them away from the city.

Yaha hugged his shoulders tightly, feeling the warmth of Wei Tianyang’s body heat on the jacket, as comforting as the sun.

Wei Tianyang still had the submachine gun strapped on him. He rolled down the car window and used his superhuman sense of smell to scan for scents around them, to prevent any mid-route ambush.

His nose was like radar, a tool for locating enemies. He felt he could detect smell changes within at least a 3-kilometer radius, and possibly further if the scent was strong enough.

Like the Bone Knife, this was a superpower gifted by the Beast Project.

His mind wandered, pondering that perhaps each falling object did not just bring a single superpower, but altered a person’s nature, transforming them into another kind of being.

He could not precisely define this change, maybe even the words were not quite right, and it was hard to distinguish between good and bad.

This was what Yaha feared; without the continuous supply of treatment services and drugs from national forces and pharmaceutical companies, they might one day be beyond salvation.

But at least that was not happening now.

The car drove smoothly out of the city, and along the way, there were none of the high-speed car chases or gunfights he had anticipated. The calm was unsettling.

Outside the city limits lay a vast wasteland, and slightly further from the main road were rolling hills of dirt, with the highway built over large swathes of weedy land.

His nostrils filled with the smell of mud, nothing out of the ordinary.

Still, Wei Tianyang dared not let his guard down. He handed the submachine gun to Yaha, as he himself didn’t need the weapon.

"Maybe... they’re just trying to scare us. It’s 12 kilometers more; I estimate we’ll make it to Kongse in less than half an hour," the driver said, relieved.

The next second, the ground began to vibrate.

Wei Tianyang looked to the right where the black mud churned up, as if a giant shovel had savagely scooped it from the ground, forming a wall of mud over twenty meters high, blocking out the sky!

The mud wall surged with an overwhelming force, bearing down on the small orange muscle car!

The car was enveloped in black mud, tumbling over, and Yaha was thrown into Wei Tianyang’s arms, holding him tight.

"My superpower is controlling mud."

At that moment, Wei Tianyang remembered what Mud Man had said.
