Chapter 501: Chapter 499 Call My Name
He hung up the phone, a hint of anger on his face.
Spencer had essentially rejected him.
And with his super senses, he also heard Spencer’s whispers.
"It’s Wei Tianyang, he’s trying to get in touch with us, and if he has the ability to transform followers... meeting him will be very dangerous..."
That’s what Spencer said to Leona.
The subsequent words, because they didn’t mention his name anymore, couldn’t be heard by Wei Tianyang, but obviously, that silence was long enough for Spencer to say two or three sentences.
Regardless, Spencer convinced Leona to meet with him at the hotel.
This meant that either Leona was being used by Spencer as a pawn to test the waters or she was well-protected...
Wei Tianyang had no doubt that Spencer could access the confidential files on Lilith; knowing the Eylian, he would certainly have studied the Eylian’s methods of formation and protection.
Just how clever Spencer was, he would find out when Leona arrived.
Wei Tianyang put away his phone, then instantly flew back to Etolia.
He had dinner with his mother and introduced Yaha and Baphomet to her.
The Black Mountain Goat wagged its tail, asking to be petted, but his mother disapproved of its strong odor and urged Wei Tianyang to get a different pet.
"Isn’t it inconvenient to keep a goat in the hotel? How do you deal with its droppings? Goat droppings are much larger than those of cats and dogs, Yang, why not donate it to the zoo and get a cat instead?" his mother suggested.
"Tell your mom I bring more happiness to people than cats and dogs do. You don’t know how popular I am on this street; they all see me as Pei Guode’s mascot! Without a goat’s butt to pat, without goat horns to stroke, the people on this street would die!" Baphomet grumbled displeasedly, telepathically communicating to Wei Tianyang.
"I don’t like cats. Cats always jump around, and you can’t ride them. Plus, they’re too small; I’m afraid of crushing them if I use them as pillows. A goat is just right. If you think it smells too much, I can spray some perfume on it," Wei Tianyang said.
"Has it...been neutered? What if it runs off and gets pregnant with little goats?" his mother asked.
"Don’t worry, first of all, it’s a male goat, and secondly, there are no other goats within a thousand kilometers, so it usually takes care of its needs under my bed with a plush toy," Wei Tianyang said.
Baphomet rubbed against him back and forth, its hooves constantly tapping the floor, and telepathically said, "That’s not my intention, it’s one of the flaws of this body!"
"Yang, about that... What did you mean when you said Yaha is both male and female?" his mother turned to look at Yaha, who was sitting aside, slurping through some penne pasta.
Her hair hadn’t been cut for a long time, with white hair trailing to the floor and the tips gradually shifting from white to a tea color.
"He/She was born this way," Wei Tianyang said.
Later, he specifically looked up related conditions. Yaha’s own description wasn’t accurate either. According to a simple explanation from a doctor, males have a pair of XY chromosomes in their DNA, while females have a pair of XX chromosomes.
Yaha’s body is female, but her chromosomes are XY. Physiologically, she is a woman, but from the perspective of DNA, she is a man.
This isn’t a disease, it’s a trait that can’t be treated or changed.
Therefore, Yaha is infertile because she doesn’t have a uterus.
Whether to refer to Yaha as he or she depended partly on Yaha’s own wishes and dress at the time, and partly on others’ initial impressions of Yaha.
But as Yaha had said before, gender is not important; "I" am what’s most important.
"You can treat her as a girl, it’s just that... she has suffered some mental trauma, and now she’s not very talkative and behaves like a little child," Wei Tianyang explained.
"Then you must take good care of your friends; they must have endured a lot to be in this state now..." his mother said, glancing at Zhao Ling.
Zhao Ling was lying on a small area at the foot of the bed, facing the television, where the news was being broadcasted.
"I’ll find a way to heal them, the day isn’t far, Mom," Wei Tianyang said.
At night, with Baphomet as his pillow, Wei Tianyang lay on his side in bed reading a book, Yaha was sprawled on the windowsill counting stars, Zhao Ling had fallen asleep, and a commercial for a household vacuum cleaner was playing on the TV.
At that moment, his phone rang.
Wei Tianyang got up to answer the phone. It was Leona calling.
"Spencer has told you, hasn’t he? When do you plan to come?" Wei Tianyang didn’t bother with pleasantries.
"How come you’re suddenly taking the initiative to cooperate with us? You used to be so indifferent," Leona said with a laugh.
"The world is different now, and I have my reasons," Wei Tianyang replied.
"Care to share them?" Leona asked.
"Do we really have to talk about this kind of thing on the phone?" Wei Tianyang said.
"The Foundation is a legal organization, and our cooperation is built on this foundation," Leona said with a laugh.
Wei Tianyang laughed out loud. Playing this game now? Putting on airs?
"My body has undergone some changes, and I just want to figure out why, that’s all," Wei Tianyang lied.
"I don’t quite believe that you would willingly lie on an operating table to be cut open and studied, and furthermore... tell me, Wei Tianyang, what in this world could make you bleed?" Leona laughed.
"Maybe I should just fly over to see you, Leona," Wei Tianyang said.
Silence from the other end.
"Speak, Leona. I’ve given you a reason. You’d better not ask for more. Tell me, when are you coming?" Wei Tianyang said with a laugh.
"I already know the reason, and it seems I don’t need to come over anymore," Leona replied.
"I’d like to meet you, to talk face-to-face. We can discuss more. Helena Mina is also here, and I believe you and she have old times to catch up on," Wei Tianyang said.
"Wei Tianyang... If I may be so bold to ask, what exactly happened to Helena? What have you done to her?" Leona was a bit uneasy.
"I haven’t done anything to her. She saw a possibility and thus leaned towards me, but others were not ready for it, so they thought she was ill..." Wei Tianyang spoke gravely.
"Maybe she is really sick," Leona said.
"No, it’s not like that. When you come, you can ask her yourself," Wei Tianyang said.
"I can’t get through to her phone, and you refuse to let her return to the council. Can I interpret that as you holding her against her will?" Leona asked.
"She doesn’t want to answer the phone or leave. I’ve been in contact with the people from the council; they can’t guarantee her safety. I have no need to hold her against her will," Wei Tianyang said.
"I’ll take your word for it then," Leona said.
There was silence on the other end, while Wei Tianyang had finished dressing and stood beside the windowsill.
"Leona," Wei Tianyang said.
"What?" Leona asked.
"Say my name a few more times. I love hearing it," Wei Tianyang laughed and flew out of the window, soaring into the high altitudes.
He couldn’t wait any longer. He wanted to know what she knew in her mind. He wanted to control her, and through her, the Foundation.
"I’m an old maid now, probably older than your mother. Are you really saying these kinds of sweet nothings to me?" Leona laughed.
"Say my name, Leona. That’s all I want to hear," Wei Tianyang laughed.
He flew through the sky, heading toward the Sethiyan Federation. As long as Leona called his name, he could roughly find her location.
"I’m going to sleep, Wei Tianyang. Maybe... I’ll be there the day after tomorrow. Let’s talk then," Leona said.
"Oh, not enough. Say it a few more times. I love it," Wei Tianyang snarled, closing in on the Sethiyan Federation at 30 times the speed of sound, piercing through the clouds and diving towards the ground.
"Wei Tianyang, this isn’t like you. I’m hanging up, goodbye," Leona said with a resigned smile.
She ended the call and placed the phone on the bedside table. Just as she was about to go to bed, she saw Wei Tianyang standing by the window.
