I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 500 - 498: The Best Clan

Chapter 500: Chapter 498: The Best Clan

Pei Guode Hotel, two floors underground.

Wei Tianyang stepped out of the elevator to find a few Dead Soldiers leaning against the corridor wall, chattering idly.

The two men snapped to attention and saluted him respectfully when they saw him.

Wei Tianyang did not acknowledge them and headed straight for Ruan Yu’s room.

After dealing with Johnny, 80% of the soldiers in the hotel had been sent out to transport the Heavenly Falling Objects. Wei Tianyang had transported vehicles and fuel into objective reality, allowing them unhindered passage to haul the items to Hida Port.

It was a massive undertaking, which Wei Tianyang had left to Ruan Yu to manage. She had organized similar operations while at Tiantai Pharmaceutical, so there should not have been any issues.

Wei Tianyang pushed the door open and saw Ruan Yu disheveled, her clothes being tugged at by three soldiers, pinned against the office desk.

He had heard them already, the obscenities, their voices too loud, an unbearable scene.

At Wei Tianyang’s appearance at the doorway, the four individuals froze, not knowing what to do.

"I..." One soldier began to explain, barely getting a word out before he turned into black mist, absorbed by Wei Tianyang’s right arm.

The other two soldiers hurriedly pulled up their trousers, and midway through, they too were absorbed.

Ruan Yu vomited a pool of white saliva and collapsed to the floor, scrambling to fix her clothes as tears uncontrollably streamed down her eyes, terrified to her core.

"Stand properly," Wei Tianyang commanded.

Ruan Yu quickly straightened her clothes, too frightened to make a sound, standing obediently in front of the desk with her coat buttoned crookedly, her chest a disheveled mess.

Wei Tianyang stepped forward, looked at her tear-streaked face, and backhanded her across the face.

Ruan Yu fell to the ground, gasping for air, eyes widened in terror, as if she might just disappear into nothingness the next second.

But Wei Tianyang did not absorb her, instead, he grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up from the ground.

Even the dead have memories, or rather, the Dead Soldiers maintained their existence as spirits because of their indelible memories.

He searched through Ruan Yu’s sea of memories for a moment and found nothing about objective reality human experimentation, so he let her go.

Ruan Yu, who had been toyed with by Moby Dick before her death and then used as a plaything by the Netherworld King afterwards, passed to these soldiers, had suffered permanent damage both mentally and physically over the years. Even now, with only spirit remaining, her personality had completely changed.

After earning so many degrees, causing the deaths of so many, having reigned superior for years, she had now become a whore slept with by thousands.

Wei Tianyang felt she got what she deserved; this was a fitting end for her.

"I’m not overly concerned about your private life, but you now manage these soldiers for me. If they continue to behave like before... how can I lead this team?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"I... I..." Ruan Yu stammered.

He tossed Ruan Yu aside and said, "You’re no saint, nor are you a rookie. You know how to manage a team. I do not want to see the same next time..."

Ruan Yu nodded, clutching her chest, sitting beside the office desk.

Wei Tianyang did not find what he was looking for in Ruan Yu, unfortunately, but thinking about it, it made sense. Ruan Yu was just the head of a project and only a common person at that; she did not even know about objective reality, let alone such experiments.

He returned to his room and pondered for a long time before opening the window and flying out.

Passing through the clouds and reaching tens of thousands of meters in the sky, he flew past commercial airliners and low orbit satellites. In just three hours, he had flown from Etolia to Chicken Snake Country.

In the sprawling gray mountains and forests, he found the abandoned detention center built into the mountainside.

Twenty years had passed, and here a collapse had occurred, the mountain, already hollowed out, could no longer hold, and it simply caved in.

Wei Tianyang peered through the layers of the mountain to find the mortuary that was buried within the mountain wall.

Wei Tianyang waved his hand gently, the mountain wall rumbled, and then a slab the size of a football field was peeled away; it disintegrated in the air, turning into a rain of soil and limestone, which fell into the forest below, snapping a swath of trees.

Sunlight pierced through the gap, illuminating the mortuary that had never seen light, a gust of wind rushed in, blowing bed sheets and decayed covers fluttering, big lumps of moldy specks and tattered rags were swept up by the wind, scattering hundreds of meters into the sky.

Wei Tianyang switched to objective reality and flew into the mortuary, only to find that the dead from twenty years ago had vanished without a trace.

One could say it was unexpected, but it could also be seen as within reason.

Twenty years was too long, long enough for a child to grow into an adult, and also enough for an adult to grow old and decrepit.

Wei Tianyang looked at the mess before him and began to ponder.

Such dangerous experiments could only be tampered with by those who were aware of objective reality, unless all those who died inside were from the Superpower Special Department.

But in his view, Tiantai Pharmaceutical didn’t have the clout, prior to 2106, to lock up the Superpower Special Department in their containment site and kill them.

He had some ways to clear up the ins and outs of the matter, what the purpose of this experiment was? He was very concerned about this.

And now, the only person who might know about this experiment, besides the already deceased management of Tiantai, he could think of, was only Spencer left.

A titan in Black Medicine research, the founder of the world’s largest United Pharmaceuticals, he couldn’t possibly be unaware...

Wei Tianyang walked to the edge of the mortuary near the mountain wall, the fierce wind unable to stir him in the least, but the beds in the mortuary were slowly sliding out of the gap, falling down the cliff.

Spencer possessed everything Wei Tianyang now desired: technology, personnel, resources... He had previously been in a period of existential bewilderment and had rejected Spencer’s collaboration proposals multiple times. Now, he had changed his mind, Spencer would be his finest kin.

He took out his phone, opened the contact list, which contained only a few names, the last time he contacted Spencer was years ago.

Wei Tianyang made the call.

After a few seconds, Spencer answered.

Neither spoke, and the silence lasted for over ten seconds.

"Why the silence?" Wei Tianyang said.

"I’m surprised, Wei, you actually... called me?" Spencer’s voice came through the phone.

He sounded much older than before.

But it made sense, Spencer was already a man in his sixties when he first met him in Azaha, and now, twenty years later, Spencer was over eighty. To still be alive and healthy enough to speak clearly with him was quite impressive.

"You’ve aged quite a bit, Spencer, older than you were a few years ago. Can you still walk? Can you still come to my hotel and share a whiskey with me?" Wei Tianyang said.

"You’ve matured quite a bit," Spencer chuckled on the other end, then continued, "I’m too old now, so old it’s not suitable for international travel anymore. I could send you some of the fine wines from my collection, so when you drink under the moonlight through your window, you’ll think of me."

"Let’s skip the pleasantries, Spencer. Perhaps, you’re still interested in collaborating with me?" Wei Tianyang said with a laugh.

There was silence on the other end.

But Wei Tianyang’s super senses had already keenly captured the words. Spencer had covered the mouthpiece, but he couldn’t hide his voice. He was whispering to Leona.

After a while, Spencer said, "I’ve retired, Wei. I don’t meddle in those things anymore, but if you want, you can talk to Leona. I’ve now entrusted her with handling many of the foundation’s affairs."

"Then have her come to my hotel for a chat, Spencer. Let’s agree on that," Wei Tianyang said with a laugh.
