This special forces soldier, wearing a beanie, puffing on a cigar, and sporting a circle of goatee that framed his jaw, exuded a paradoxical sense of both cunning and reliability. Perhaps a bit on the older side, but still capable of handling a gun and keeping pace with the young ones. His outstanding experience and willpower, as well as his merciless judgment, were also invaluable resources on the battlefield.

Facing the Black Medicine Army meant dealing with a bunch of lunatics, and to handle lunatics, disciplined soldiers alone were not enough.

Following Da Gu and the others, Wang Ye arrived at the operations command center. As expected, Price was conversing with Commander Lu in a corner of the room. The large screen displayed a computer desktop, and several soldiers were preparing materials.

One by one, people trickled into the conference room. Wang Ye spotted a company commander who greeted him across the crowd, and he waved back.

"The last mission was quite perilous," the company commander said.

"We could have done more, those kids..." Wang Ye still brooded over the incident.

"Don’t be foolish; that was Wei Tianyang. If any of us had opened fire then, there wouldn’t be so many people in this room now," the company commander said.

He laughed heartily and stretched out his hand, "I’m Donald Mac. I don’t know your name yet!"

"I’m Wang Ye. These are my roommates, Da Gu and Schweinsteiger," Wang Ye shook his hand and introduced his comrades.

"You, too, are true warriors, and you, Da Gu. You guys are damn brave," Mac chuckled.

"Same to you," Da Gu replied with a smile.

"By the way, where’s the drone operator?" Mac asked.

Wang Ye looked around and saw Mika engaging in conversation with other roommates and a different group, so he didn’t interrupt them.

"That’s Mika, he’s busy right now," Wang Ye said.

"We might run into him on this mission. If you encounter any danger, just contact me, and I’ll make sure to bring support," Mac said with a smile.

Wang Ye smiled back and changed the subject, "How much do you know about Wei Tianyang?"

They looked at each other, and Mac said, "I don’t know, our clearance levels are not much different. Most information about him is classified. All I know is that nominally, he’s still one of us—a comrade, a senior."

"But his actions don’t seem to reflect that. He inexplicably took so many children away, and the council didn’t even hold him accountable," Wang Ye said.

"When you can crush an army with a wave of your hand, the council won’t pursue it. Besides, to look on the bright side, those kids will at least be safe with him, away from the war, no worries about food or clothing, protected by a god," Mac said.

"You think he’s a god?" Wang Ye asked.

"If you could fly, I’d call you a ’god’ too," Mac laughed.

"Then we better not anger him. We’ve all experienced it—we couldn’t get up because he did nothing. Even Price was panicked," Da Gu said.

"That feeling wasn’t good; I can’t quite put it into words. I don’t want to face him, really," Schweinsteiger said.

"Nobody does. There’s no honor in being his enemy... you just hope to die quickly," Mac said.

As they spoke, Commander Lu picked up a microphone and said a few words, and the meeting room fell silent.

Everyone quickly and quietly took their seats. The projection screen showed a map of Heisai State.

"According to reliable intelligence, we’ve learned that Johnny is currently active in Heisai State. His team is attempting to escalate the internal conflicts between the various sheikhdoms into a superpower war, and he himself has likely already reached Etolia," Commander Lu said.

Twelve areas were highlighted red on the map.

"The countries of Heisai State had been secretly producing neutralizers, smuggling them through underground pipelines to other nations. A few years ago, the council and the Sethiyan Federation conducted strikes against Johnny’s neutralizer factories, but to little effect."

"The Heavenly Falling Objects in that region have also sparked a struggle among the nations. The sheikhdoms continue low-intensity conflicts year after year to secure the selling rights for Heavenly Falling Objects and to expand their territories."

"Johnny wants to turn Heisai State into the next South East Continent. He aims to recreate the tragedy of Chicken Snake Country in this land."

Commander Lu said this, then handed the microphone to Price.

Price collected himself and began, "Listen up, everyone. I know we encountered some tough situations last time, meeting the unbeatable Wei Tianyang... but that doesn’t mean we can only stand by idly. Our target is Johnny. Based on what we know about him, he is unlikely to intervene."

"Johnny is challenging the limits of human society. Many are unaware of the current plight of the South East Continent and the Earth Sea Small Countries, but let me tell you... Wei Tianyang was born from such an environment, and you’ll understand my concerns."

Price said this, and a soldier interrupted him.

"Commander, if Johnny is also at that hotel, can we request his cooperation in our capture operation?" the soldier asked.

"I would advise you to stay away from that hotel until orders are given," Price replied.

"He’s on our side, right? We can have him personally bring out the people," the soldier pressed.

Price took a deep breath and said, "I wish he would do that, but believe me, I won’t hold out hope for it. I’ll assume the worst-case scenario: he refuses to cooperate or simply ignores us."

"If it really comes to that, does it mean we’ll abort the mission?" the soldier asked.

"I didn’t say that. Given his level of violence, I’m inclined to look for someone who can make contact for mediation and negotiation, but if he refuses to talk, refuses to cooperate..." Price paused and looked at Commander Lu.

Commander Lu nodded.

"...He is a flame, a raging fire created from scratch, able to incinerate all things in the world in an instant. But you know what fire fears most? Not water, but air. It burns because of air. We’ve lit a fire, and now, if we want to put it out, we need an explosion, a violent one. Drain the air, let the fire die out," Price concluded.
