I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 353 - 351: Lost
Chapter 353: Chapter 351: Lost
Late at night.
Zhao Ling drove back to the mountain courtyard.
The night servants had all changed faces, a result of the information she had previously received from Wei Tianyang which indicated that Venerable Qin’s influence had penetrated deeper than she had anticipated.
She had thought that by gathering civil servants from remote areas across the country, she could avoid Qin’s surveillance, but she hadn’t expected Qin’s roots to be like those of an ancient tree, extending deep into the soil.
Fortunately, the red courtyard’s information security measures were very strict, the traffic of people in and out was minimal, and the perimeter was closely guarded by Venerable Xu’s troops. Therefore, these people could not reveal the location of the courtyard.
To prevent any leaks, Zhao Ling had secretly executed this group of people.
Now, what concerned her most was the specific location of the Lingxian Sect’s space station.
The universe was vast, but near-Earth orbit was a crowded place. Over nearly a century, humans had launched tens of thousands of satellites, and near-Earth orbit was full of space debris.
The launch data and orbital charts were being analyzed. Once the orbit was confirmed, she would be able to take the next step.
Should she launch nuclear missiles to shoot them down, or use a carrier rocket to send Wei Tianyang up there?
The former seemed more feasible, but it could attract the attention of the International Astronaut Alliance. The Space Peace Treaty restricted nations from extending acts of war beyond the atmosphere; space was humanity’s last sanctuary. Any radical actions could possibly result in being expelled from the space exploration technology sharing alliance.
The latter would depend on Wei Tianyang’s intentions.
Although the final course of action was not yet decided, this was her closest escape from the Lingxian Sect to date.
Passing by the lawn, Zhao Ling saw a black goat drinking from a lake in the distance and frowned.
She didn’t know when the goat had started appearing in the courtyard, which had greatly alarmed her.
It was impossible for there to be wild animals nearby, and for any creature to suddenly appear in the courtyard without her knowledge.
But later, she saw a medal hanging from the goat’s horns and often saw it with Wei Tianyang.
Only then did she relax, thinking it must be a pet goat Wei Tianyang had brought back from the wilderness while on a mission, and since he could teleport using objective reality, bringing a goat inside was easy.
However, no matter how she looked at it, the goat was far from cute. It was too black, the color of its fur dark as the abyss, seemingly suffused with a sinister air, and it always appeared and vanished without a trace.
Zhao Ling sighed, walked into the attic, and went up to the third floor.
This room belonged to him, but she stayed over from time to time.
Wei Tianyang was currently far away in Heiside State, and she had not been here in the past few days; the room was probably a bit messy, and she decided to tidy it up on the way.
Zhao Ling pushed open the room door, feeling the cool breeze on her face. Moonlight streamed in through the windows, and before her eyes, she saw a horned silhouette sitting in the light.
At first, her muscles tensed in alert, but when she saw the four red pupils glowing on the figure’s face, she recognized it was Wei Tianyang.
"Wei... is that you?" Zhao Ling exclaimed in surprise and joy, her voice softening and her stance relaxing from its previous readiness.
Wei Tianyang did not speak but sat in the chair, with six inch-long spikes growing out of the outer side of his right forearm, his upper body bare.
"What’s wrong with you?" Zhao Ling took off her shoes, stepped barefoot on the wooden floor, her long skirt wrapped around her thighs, moonlight whitening her neck and chest. Her hair, long and smooth, fell down as she reached out with her white arms, wanting to embrace the man before her.
"Zhao Ling." Wei Tianyang said.
"Uh-huh?" Zhao Ling responded, placing her hands on Wei Tianyang’s shoulders, the hard-as-steel muscles stirring excitement within her.
"Tell me, Zhao Ling, what exactly is justice?" Wei Tianyang asked.
Zhao Ling knelt down, sliding her hands down his arms to rest on his chest, feeling the strong heartbeats transferring through her palms to her body as if resonating with it.
"Aren’t you always doing just deeds? I saw the news this morning; you saved a lot of people," Zhao Ling said softly.
She pressed herself into Wei Tianyang’s embrace, resting her head against his chest.
Wei Tianyang grasped Zhao Ling’s neck, pulling her away from himself, then, with a swing of his hand, threw her onto the floor beside him.
Zhao Ling grimaced and rolled half a turn on the ground, her long dress unfolding as she lay on her side, with her left leg arched in front of her, revealing much of her dress.
"Are you angry?" Zhao Ling said.
She wasn’t angry; she still needed him, and she was willing to endure everything.
"I want an answer," Wei Tianyang stood up.
Zhao Ling felt a bit nervous. The Wei Tianyang in front of her seemed to have grown much taller, his horns nearly touching the ceiling.
"Is the answer that important?" Zhao Ling asked.
"Without an answer, what am I?" Wei Tianyang said.
"You are Wei Tianyang, the most powerful man on this planet... you are my man," Zhao Ling said.
"That’s not the answer," Wei Tianyang shook his head.
He walked up to Zhao Ling, extended his left hand to grasp her neck, and lifted her up.
Zhao Ling’s feet were off the ground, her neck squeezed so she could hardly breathe, but she still kept her arms harmlessly hanging down at her sides, trying not to appear threatening.
Having spent a lot of time with Wei Tianyang, she was used to his aloofness and had forgotten that Black Medicine Syndrome still existed. He could control it, but if he lost control, the consequences would not be good.
"Power is the reason to become a king... but I am not," Wei Tianyang said.
"What are you... talking about?" Zhao Ling said.
"I’m not your power, Zhao Ling," Wei Tianyang said.
He extended his right hand, his nails sharpened like knives, and lightly cut through Zhao Ling’s thin dress.
Her snow-white skin bathed in the moonlight, with its soft lines draped in ambiguous shadows.
"You have your absolute meaning, and I... do not," Wei Tianyang said.
"I... I can share... with you..." Zhao Ling said.
"No, I must find my own... otherwise, what is my meaning?" Wei Tianyang seemed to be talking to himself.
"Yang, come here..." Zhao Ling said.
She reached out with both hands, cradling Wei Tianyang’s cheeks.
Wei Tianyang displayed a look of disgust, tossing Zhao Ling onto the floor again, this time with more force. She thumped onto the ground, her clothing askew, her torn dress revealing her side breast and a strip of her side skin.
With her hair in disarray, she lay on the floor gasping in pain.
"Don’t call me that, you’re not my mother," Wei Tianyang said sternly.
"I... I understand..." Zhao Ling said, her voice trembling with resentment and anger.
Seeing Zhao Ling’s submissive demeanor, Wei Tianyang suddenly felt an intense desire to conquer.
She always thought she could dominate everything. She always believed she could control everyone. She thought she was in control of him, in all matters.
But she was wrong; nobody could control him.
Wei Tianyang stepped forward and roughly grabbed Zhao Ling’s shoulders, hearing the sound of bones breaking, and hearing Zhao Ling’s breath caught in her throat.
He held her in his arms, not caring if she was comfortable, using sheer strength to alter her body and posture.
Zhao Ling’s lips were pressed tightly together, eyes brimming with tears, "Power is the reason to rule"... That’s what she had taught him, and tonight, that’s what he did.
Zhao Ling could only submit and endure, letting him take the lead, while her supposedly strong body also succumbed to the destruction of absolute power. Pain made it impossible for her to stay rational, and she closed her eyes to go with the flow.
Baphomet stood downstairs, looking up at the window, knowing that the destined one was drawing near.
