Chapter 312: Chapter 310: He and I Are Similar
On the screen of the smartphone, an emergency news broadcast was playing.
"...At 10:37 this morning, in Libitelli Country, Fasid City, a bomb attack occurred at Bruno Avenue Subway Station. Currently, the rescue operation is being carried out in an orderly manner. The Libitelli Government has stated that it will spare no expense and make every effort..."
Johnny put down his phone on the bar counter and picked up a glass of whiskey. At that moment, he was sitting in a bar in Georgton City, Sethiyan Federation.
Accompanying him was a red-haired Caucasian woman.
"The fire has started, Moli," Johnny said.
"This is just the beginning, right?" Moli replied with a smile.
"Has Ruffs got into position?" Johnny inquired.
"They’ve driven the van to Hawaii Mountain Villa District, disguised as a garbage truck. There was a little incident on the way; a traffic cop had to be dealt with," Moli reported.
"Tell them to be careful. There might be superpower soldiers guarding that house," Johnny warned.
Moli asked, "When do you plan to make your speech?"
"I still need to... meet an old friend. After that, I’ll let the whole world know about our plan," Johnny replied.
He drained the whiskey from his glass, stood up, and left the bar. It was already noon, and the headquarters of United Pharmaceutical Company loomed just two streets away.
Johnny unzipped his jacket to bare his muscular torso and then, straightening his disheveled long hair, he put on sunglasses.
"Spencer, it’s time to meet," he said with a smile, straddling his motorcycle, driving against traffic, and arriving at the base of the United Pharmaceutical Company building within minutes.
As if by some sixth sense, he was sure that Spencer was on the rooftop at that moment.
So, he parked his motorcycle on the lawn beside the road and entered the building.
As soon as he walked in, the metal detector’s alarm blared loudly. Several security guards approached with their hands on their holsters, eyes fixed on him.
Johnny casually opened his jacket to reveal two grenades tucked at his waist; he effortlessly pulled the pins and held one grenade in his hand, thumb firmly pressing down the safety lever.
"I want to see your boss, just tell him Johnny’s here to see him," Johnny said with a smile.
"You’re crazy!" A security guard rapidly drew his gun and pointed it at him.
"Took you less than 2 seconds to draw. Buddy, you must have had some proper training. I’m guessing you were SAS, or maybe Special Air Service?" Johnny said with a smile.
"If you were actually a soldier, that’s a real disgrace," the guard retorted angrily.
"You fire here, and I won’t be the only one dying," Johnny said with a smile.
"Put the pin back. Do it now!" the guard commanded.
"I really do want to see your boss, or should I say, our boss. Back when I was running errands for him, you were probably still doing push-ups in the barracks," Johnny joked.
"Put the pin back in! Now!" the guard repeated.
"Bad temper, won’t get you far," Johnny quipped.
More security guards had come running to encircle Johnny, some of whom donned bulletproof vests and riot helmets.
Although these gears were hardly enough to defend against a grenade, they weren’t just there to collect a paycheck.
Spencer had paid a big price, and everyone was waiting for this moment.
"Maintain distance, 5 meters away," commanded the security officer.
"Smart move. You know the lethal radius of a grenade; many don’t get it even after leaving service," Johnny said as he pulled the pin of the second grenade, holding one in each hand, and walked towards them.
"Stop! Stop! Or I’ll..." the guard shouted furiously.
"Shoot?" Johnny asked, still smiling.
"Don’t test my patience..." the guard warned.
"You don’t negotiate, not one bit. You know I’ve already won. You’re very clear there are only two outcomes: mutual loss or my win. And I can live with either," Johnny said with a grin.
"Damn it... step back! Step back! Lower the blast shield!" the guards were all on edge.
At that moment, instructions from Spencer came through the earpiece.
"Let him come up," Spencer said.
"He has grenades in his hands," the guard reported.
"He can handle it," Spencer said calmly.
Johnny waited, watching the security guards pensively, knowing he had won.
"Mr. Spencer is asking for you," the guard said, albeit reluctantly.
Johnny nodded, holding two grenades, and slowly stepped into the elevator.
"I did say he would see me. Goodbye, lads," Johnny said with a smile.
The moment the elevator doors closed, he tossed the grenades through the closing gap, two dark green apples rolling on the sleek tiled floor, making a heart-stopping clatter.
"Fuck! Get down!!!!!"
Over twenty security guards scattered in all directions, diving for cover. Others in the lobby also hit the floor.
However, after some ten seconds, the lobby remained eerily silent.
The guards got up, looking back at the two grenades, only to find they were hollow...
Minutes later, Johnny was inside Spencer’s office.
The view outside the window was impressive, but Spencer’s expression was grim.
When he turned to face Johnny, he found the man already seated on the sofa, twisting open a bottle of whisky and taking a drink.
"That seat was previously occupied by another person," Spencer said.
"I know, Spencer, I know. You made a new friend," Johnny said.
"You can’t afford to mess with my new friend," Spencer said.
Johnny let out a chuckle, fiddled with his phone for a moment, and then gestured for Spencer to look towards Hawaii Mountain.
Spencer walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and saw that the villa district was calm.
"What are you playing at?" Spencer said.
"Just wait, wait... Boom!" Johnny said, laughing.
The next second, a villa in the district exploded in a devastating blast, smoke and flames shooting into the sky. Even from here, the fire seemed too intense...
"Is that Wei Tianyang’s villa?" Spencer asked, smiling.
Johnny nodded with a laugh.
"You blew up his villa?" Spencer asked for confirmation.
"Yep," Johnny said, with a laugh.
"Hahahaha..." Spencer started laughing.
"Hahahahaha!!" Johnny joined in.
"Hahahahahaha!!!!!"
The two men face each other, laughing together, filling the office with a lively atmosphere.
Suddenly, Spencer’s smile vanished, "Your people couldn’t have all made it out safely, more than half of those living in that villa district were replaced with federal marshals and superpower special forces."
"Escape? No, they didn’t need to make it out in one piece. They fulfilled their mission and soared with the flames into the sky," Johnny said with a smile.
"You’re fucking insane, Johnny. You’re out of your mind, and I’ve got no cure," Spencer said.
"I think the only cure for my mind is a bullet," Johnny said.
"What are you here for? I’m not giving you anything. I don’t work with madmen," Spencer said.
"But this madman helped you take down your empire. Handled your business enemies. Now that you’ve secured your footing, you want to cut ties with me?" Johnny said with a laugh.
"Enough, Johnny! After what you did in Heisai State... nobody will associate with you anymore! You’re a fucking terrorist," Spencer said.
"And now you’re working with another terrorist? Wei Tianyang?" Johnny said with a chuckle.
"He’s not a terrorist," Spencer said.
"Don’t kid yourself, he’s killed a million people, far colder than me. Cold and fast," Johnny said.
"It’s different!" Spencer said.
"We both know, he’s the same as me; we’re both dissatisfied with this world, except he has the power to destroy it," Johnny said with a chuckle.
"If you know all this, what do you still want to do?" Spencer said.
"I want to destroy him," Johnny said, laughing.
