I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 293 - 291: Just Once?

Chapter 293: Chapter 291: Just Once?

The phone rang on the floor, raindrops pattered against the floor-to-ceiling window, and the morning sun shone through the gaps in the blinds, casting stripes of light and shadow on Zhao Ling’s bare back.

Wei Tianyang played with her black hair in his right hand, his left hand spread out on the bed, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

Exhausted from the night’s efforts, Zhao Ling was spent. She lay in his arms, seeming much smaller than he remembered, sleeping soundly, her hands resting on Wei Tianyang’s chest, like a young girl seeking protection.

Wei Tianyang’s fingers followed the deep groove down her spine to the tailbone. Her firm yet soft abdominal muscles pressed against his own, like interlocking gears biting into each other, sharing each other’s heartbeat through the tremors of their flesh.

He recalled the events of the previous night, the passionate release, Zhao Ling’s quivering and prolonged moans had intoxicated him, but once everything had cooled down, he found that the feeling wasn’t worth lingering over.

Wei Tianyang had wanted her to become the mother of his spirit, but after tonight, this thought was forever dispelled.

He felt no admiration for Zhao Ling, and he was well aware that Zhao Ling felt none either.

The purpose of their actions was merely to bind each other. Zhao Ling didn’t see her body as a price to pay, nor did Wei Tianyang consider it a transaction. He felt it was a one-sided victory for Zhao Ling.

Zhao Ling got the result she wanted.

The phone had rung for a while but eventually went silent. Zhao Ling muttered a few sounds, stirring in front of her chest and waking up.

Her left hand, resting on his chest and abdomen, moved up along the curve of his neck, caressing his cheek. She looked up and asked softly, "How long have you been awake?"

Wei Tianyang caught her wrist and said, "For quite a while."

"You really surprise me," Zhao Ling said with a laugh, her eyes closed.

"You brought up that question on purpose last night, didn’t you?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"Don’t talk about things that ruin the mood," Zhao Ling laughed.

Wei Tianyang propped his body up with both hands, leaning halfway up in bed. Zhao Ling, who was resting on his chest, struggled to move until he steadied himself, then curled back into his embrace.

"Let’s not rush to get up," Zhao Ling shook her head.

"I want to make some coffee," Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling wrapped her arms around Wei Tianyang’s waist and buried her head in his abs, shaking her head firmly.

"Zhao Ling... you’re over a hundred years old... stop acting spoiled..." Wei Tianyang said.

"No... I just don’t have the energy to get up..." Zhao Ling replied.

"Stop kidding..." Wei Tianyang said.

"I’m serious, my lower body feels numb right now..." Zhao Ling said with a wry smile.

"Damn... you haven’t really made yourself..." Wei Tianyang said gravely.

"What are you afraid of? That you can’t afford to take care of me?" Zhao Ling looked up, giving Wei Tianyang a mischievous smile.

"If, and I mean if, you really had a child and they had my superpower... would I really have to..." Wei Tianyang was somewhat puzzled.

"What are you thinking about? It’s not that easy to get pregnant. Unless we do it every day," Zhao Ling laughed.

Wei Tianyang pushed Zhao Ling to one side, got out of bed, and walked naked to the cabinet to start making coffee.

Zhao Ling lay on her side by the window, propping up her head and watching the muscular lines on Wei Tianyang’s back. She licked her lips, revealing a smile that suggested she still longed for more.

"Do you want sugar in it?" he asked.

"How about you?" Zhao Ling countered.

"I like it bitter," Wei Tianyang replied.

"Then I’ll share the bitterness with you," Zhao Ling laughed.

Busy for a moment, Wei Tianyang carried two cups of coffee and turned to walk back to the bed.

Zhao Ling’s face turned red as she reached out to take the coffee, then watched as Wei Tianyang sat back down on the bed.

His side, thigh, pectorals, and back bore a few scratches, marks left by Zhao Ling that served as boundary stones declaring ownership.

The two of them silently drank half a cup of coffee.

The quiet room was filled with the voices in Zhao Ling’s head, where Wei Tianyang endured both mental and physical torture in the stories she imagined, crawling at her feet begging for protection.

"You can hear it, can’t you?" Zhao Ling suddenly said.

Wei Tianyang smiled. The fact that he could absorb superpowers was no secret, Chen Ran and Libitelli’s Zoe had both died by his hands, and Zhao Ling’s intelligence network was not for naught.

"You really know how to amuse yourself," Wei Tianyang said.

"There’s nothing shameful about it. Do you know how many men use my photo for their happy time?" Zhao Ling laughed.

"I don’t care about that," Wei Tianyang said.

"For the past three years, you’ve always worked out with me at Lingxiao Pavilion, and those maids would watch you come and go, each with their own thoughts," Zhao Ling said.

"That’s only human," Wei Tianyang said.

"Have you ever felt that way?" Zhao Ling said with a mischievous smile looking at Wei Tianyang.

"To me, the human body is just a combination of muscles and fat, sacks of blood supported by bones. I know where to cut to avoid the bones and directly crush the organs," Wei Tianyang said expressionlessly.

"..." Zhao Ling was at a loss for words. She drained her coffee, trying to find another topic.

"I found something in Chen Ran’s memory," Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling turned to look at him.

"I think I know where the Lingxian Sect is, but I can’t find it online," Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling immediately changed her demeanor, no longer seductive but full of hostility.

"Explain clearly," Zhao Ling said.

The image of the strong woman she was known to be returned.

"It should be a space station. But not the kind that flies in the sky, in terms of technology, it’s far more advanced," Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling frowned and began to ponder.

"There are only a few space stations up there, and they’re big, to avoid collisions all space stations and satellites must disclose their orbit and launch information to the Space Joint Administration before launch, the Lingxian Sect can’t hide something like that," Zhao Ling said.

"Unless Chen Ran has the ability to alter his own memories, I would not have seen it incorrectly," Wei Tianyang said.

"That’s terrifying..." Zhao Ling looked at Wei Tianyang, a trace of wariness in her eyes.

"Their technology is indeed terrifying. Chen Ran didn’t need a spacesuit to directly ride a spacecraft through the atmosphere..." Wei Tianyang said.

"No... I’m talking about you," Zhao Ling said.

"You’re scared, too? Are you also planning on getting rid of me?" Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling smiled, snuggling into Wei Tianyang’s arms, she said with a bitter smile, "Why? I’m your woman; why should I be afraid?"

"We may have done it... but there’s nothing between us! Zhao Ling, you should be clear, it was just a one-night stand," Wei Tianyang said.

"Yang, you really are a fucking jerk," Zhao Ling looked up and glared at Wei Tianyang.

"What’s that supposed to mean?" Wei Tianyang said.

Zhao Ling smiled, her hand moving under the covers, "A jerk wouldn’t do it just once."

Wei Tianyang took a deep breath.
