I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 284 - 282 Escape from Prison
Chapter 284: Chapter 282 Escape from Prison
Evening.
Wang Ye was dragged into the infirmary for simple treatment, his wounds wrapped in bandages and his face swathed in gauze, turning him into a figure resembling a mummy.
Even though he had been released from the solitary confinement, he still couldn’t go back to his dormitory and was temporarily confined to a small partition in the medical room.
Wang Ye lay on the bed for a while and, through the small window in the door, he saw the clock outside. It was already 9 p.m.
He felt his strength had partially returned, but any slight movement of his arms caused his waist and abdomen to hurt still; that damn Chen Yong and Xiao Tian had been too vicious. No matter how solid his abs were, they couldn’t endure the continued beatings. He suspected his internal organs had been damaged—lifting his thigh slightly caused a stabbing pain in his lower abdomen.
But tonight was his only chance to escape. Tomorrow, if he was thrown into solitary or a cell, there would be no way out.
Wang Ye quietly opened the door to his little room and heard someone smoking outside.
"...Definitely quiet tonight, that kid’s fighting is damn impressive..."
"It’s kids that age, they don’t know how to hold back."
"Motherfucker, how do the parents of these kids discipline them?"
"Who knows, born with a mother but raised without one."
Wang Ye leaned against the wall, thinking for a moment.
With his current physical condition, unless he launched a surprise attack with the intent to kill, there was no way he could leave...
He looked around the infirmary and noticed there were no sharp objects.
But there was a pen holder on the desk with a pencil inside.
Wang Ye picked up the pencil, went over to the door, and waited silently, praying that those two would leave on their own.
But it seemed they were specifically sent here to stand guard and watch over Wang Ye; hoping they would leave was impossible.
Wang Ye steeled his heart, held the pencil in a reverse grip, and tested the door lock.
Unlocked...
He took a deep breath, found the right moment, and suddenly flung the door open, rushing out.
The two guards were startled. Wang Ye immediately plunged the pencil into one of their eye sockets and then, turning around, punched the other in the face.
Wang Ye gained the upper hand. He turned and pounced on the guard who had fallen to the ground, pulled the pencil out of his eye socket, and stomped viciously on his neck, crushing him into unconsciousness.
He turned to look at the remaining guard who had drawn his baton and reached for his whistle.
Wang Ye charged at him, blocking the baton with his left hand and stabbing the pencil into his throat with his right hand.
The guard put the whistle to his mouth, but with his trachea punctured, he couldn’t make a sound.
Wang Ye kicked him to the ground and sat on his body, stabbing the pencil repeatedly through his neck.
After dealing with the two of them, he didn’t bother to pick up a stick but instead kept the pencil; after all, a sharp pencil was more efficient in a surprise attack.
Wang Ye ran out of the main building and into the night. After dark, the guards were either patrolling or in the dormitories; the playground was completely locked.
The main gate was not an option; it was fenced with electrified wire and a 5-meter-high wall, impossible to escape through. The only chance for escape lay in leaping off the dormitory roof, over the wall, and into the wilderness.
Wang Ye reached the outside of the building and saw the dormitory, half a playground away. On the tall towers at the corners of the high walls, searchlights swept over the ground.
He watched the pattern of the lights, timing his dash towards the dormitory, but still provoked a flurry of whistles from the high walls.
It turned out he had overthought it; how could the searchlights follow a pattern, this wasn’t a game...
At this point, he couldn’t afford to be cautious anymore. With his injuries weighing him down, Wang Ye ran to the side of the dormitory and climbed up the fire escape. He flipped through a window and entered the office area of the dormitory.
The dormitory was a long building, with the office area and guard post at the head and the remaining two walls full of dormitories sealed with iron doors, the middle an open space, akin to a marketplace.
Wang Ye vaulted into the guard post, coming face to face with three guards. They had heard the whistle and were about to head out.
With all his strength, he stabbed one down with a pencil first, then followed it up with a heavy kick that sent another flying out the door.
After the two attacks, his face took a harsh blow, causing stars to burst before his eyes as he stumbled backward and fell to the ground.
But Wang Ye quickly got up, swinging the pencil in his hand, slicing open a large gash in the right arm of the charging guard.
The guard cursed loudly, pulling out his baton and began beating down ruthlessly on Wang Ye, who dodged and shielded himself as best as he could, his left arm going numb from the hits but managing to drive the pencil up the guard’s nostril.
With a forceful push, there was a snap, and the pencil broke off, a large piece remaining lodged inside the guard’s nasal cavity.
Wang Ye grabbed the man’s head with his right hand and delivered a knee, driving the pencil inches deeper, eliciting a scream of agony as the guard convulsed in pain on the ground.
The pain in his left arm was distracting, inciting a commotion that set off noisy unrest in the dormitories.
Wang Ye heard Chen Yong shouting into the loudspeaker.
"Shut the fuck up, all of you! Or I’ll fucking deal with each of you tomorrow!" Chen Yong raged.
By now, Wang Ye had dashed down the narrow passageway to the outside, with a large group of guards spotting him across the corridor, a good ten meters away.
There was no chance of winning in a fight against so many!
Wang Ye turned and ran, passing through the semi-open corridor to the other side of the dormitory.
They had spotted Wang Ye’s figure.
"Holy shit!!" someone exclaimed excitedly.
That exclamation ignited their passion, and everyone started chanting, "Go!! Go!!"
Chen Yong was seething in the surveillance room, gripping the microphone as he yelled, "Wang Ye! You motherfucker, stop! Or I swear I’ll shoot you dead tonight!"
Naturally, Wang Ye didn’t care what Chen Yong was saying; his destination was the fire escape leading to the rooftop.
Seeing that Wang Ye was ignoring him completely, Chen Yong pulled his keys from his waist and went to unlock a cabinet.
"Hey, hey... what are you doing!" a guard asked.
"I’m going to execute that bastard on the spot!" Chen Yong declared.
He swung open the cabinet door to reveal six shotguns, twelve boxes of beanbag rounds, along with four pistols, and twelve boxes of 9mm ammunition.
Without hesitation, Chen Yong holstered a pistol at his waist, grabbed a shotgun and stepped out the door.
Wang Ye rushed to the end of the corridor, climbed up the iron stairway, and reached the rooftop access, but the iron door stood immovably in his way.
Having come this far, an iron door wouldn’t stop him.
Taking a deep breath, Wang Ye tried a few times before kicking the iron door open and running out onto the vacant rooftop of the dormitory building.
He dashed towards the edge, but then a gunshot rang out from behind him, a bullet grazing past his scalp.
Wang Ye looked back to see Chen Yong at the stairwell entrance, pointing a pistol at him.
"You little shit! Still think you can run?" Chen Yong yelled furiously.
Wang Ye glanced back at the woods beyond the perimeter wall. The rooftop was just over a meter from the wall, and a little over six meters high... He could make the jump, but such a high fall...
As Chen Yong fired the shotgun at him, Wang Ye ducked down to avoid it but was still hit in the flank, his bandage beginning to bleed. He lay on the ground, groaning in pain.
Chen Yong had hit his target and switched to the pistol, walking towards Wang Ye and pointing the gun at him.
Jump... if it’s death, so be it!
In a surge of rage, Wang Ye rolled to the side and sprinted towards the edge, the sound of gunfire exploding behind him. At the same moment, he too, leaped out.
