I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 258 - 256: The Plan

Chapter 258: Chapter 256: The Plan

A strong wind from nowhere sent Spencer’s clothes billowing, and the surrounding temperature suddenly became abnormally hot.

All he saw was the dirt churning in the violent wind before something swiftly shot towards the north.

The giant hand made of mud slowly crumbled amidst the vibrations, and the car slid out of the mud. Spencer took Fujiwara Makoto by the hand and carried him to safety, watching as the car slowly slid to the side of the road.

"I don’t know who you are, but if something happens to you, he won’t let me off the hook," Spencer said.

"Is Ishmael really sent by the United Council?" Fujiwara Makoto asked.

"There’s no doubt about that, but he far exceeds the United Council," Spencer replied with a smile.

"Did you provide him with the superpower?" Fujiwara Makoto asked again.

Spencer let out a long sigh and said, "We’re not that capable."

With that, Spencer put down Fujiwara Makoto and went over to the sedan. He checked the chassis and tires, then lifted the hood to inspect the engine.

The car had been in a collision. The front windshield was completely shattered, a rear tire had burst, and there was varying degrees of damage to the skirts and bumper. But, the engine was still good.

Spencer pulled open the somewhat misshapen car door, turned the key, and after the car groaned a few times, it started successfully. The screen in the center of the steering wheel lit up halfway, just enough to show the battery charge.

"The car should still be drivable," Spencer said, returning to Fujiwara Makoto’s side.

"Could it explode? Just now, the car almost tipped over," Fujiwara Makoto said uncertainly.

"I’ve checked the chassis; Ishmael’s massive mud hand played a big role. The core components of the car are undamaged, and the battery pack is fine," Spencer assured.

"Alright, let’s go find him. I feel a bit better now, and if we hurry, I should be able to help," Fujiwara Makoto said, forcing himself to stand up while holding his head, swaying slightly.

"You don’t need to help," Spencer said.

He looked at his watch.

"It should just be him left over there now," he added.

The two of them drove the damaged car over the pothole-ridden road. With no front windshield and poor road conditions, they couldn’t go very fast. After about 20 minutes, they reached the barrier wall.

There, part of the barrier wall was destroyed, leaving a gap wide enough for two trucks to travel side by side; the area was strewn with the bodies of soldiers.

Spencer and Fujiwara Makoto got out of the car and walked through the gap in the wall into the eerily quiet camp. Under the searchlights, the vast camp was filled with soldiers’ bodies, while Wei Tianyang sat on a distant ammunition box, looking down at his phone.

Fujiwara Makoto was speechless. He had never imagined Ishmael would dare to strike against a nation’s regular army and kill so many.

She himself had killed people to escape the cruel experiments of Hasegawa Pharmaceutical, but what about Ishmael? Wasn’t he a regular member of the United Council, generally very cautious and careful?

"Wei," Spencer called out.

Wei Tianyang looked up, his face covered in blood, his red eyes bright as flashlights. His hair too was soaked in blood. His upper body was bare, having reverted from Iron Man mode to his normal fleshly state, but his right arm, a large portion of his right chest, as well as his neck and collarbone were all covered with black stripes. The edges of the stripes faintly emitted a white glow.

Fujiwara Makoto was mesmerized. Wei Tianyang’s body, honed over three years, was fit and proportionate. The muscles of his chest and abdomen were sharply defined, his bloodied appearance akin to that of a demon.

"If you ask me, you’ve really screwed up," Spencer shook his head.

"I know," Wei Tianyang said.

"These are all regular forces from Libitelli, and President Fogen knows about this now," Spencer sighed.

"I haven’t had the chance to ask before, but tell me now, what did Steijie send you here for? Why did he bring four Trinities along? He has no reason to go after me," Wei Tianyang said.

Spencer shook his head and recounted his own experiences.

Wei Tianyang then understood that since Steijie had found out about Spencer’s secret collaboration with himself, he had sent him on this contact mission hoping that he’d die here.

"He sensed our private communication, especially the operation in Seychelles Waters, and it crossed his red line," Spencer said.

"I’m not his damn private soldier to care about his mood when making connections," Wei Tianyang scoffed coldly.

"It’s not exactly like that... Even if Steijie knew about the cooperation between you and me, he wouldn’t go to this extent..." Spencer shook his head.

"He previously invited me to his house for dinner, being all hesitant at the door to speak, but I’d already guessed his intentions. He probably isn’t just a puppet official," Wei Tianyang shook his head.

"It’s true that the people were sent by him, but the original mission wasn’t like this. I only needed to negotiate with you to ensure you hadn’t contracted the language virus here, and then I could return," Spencer said.

"But they launched an attack," Wei Tianyang said.

"Right, that’s the problem. I don’t know who is commanding them, nor do I know how they suddenly found you... and then launched an attack," Spencer said.

"It must have been someone from Hasegawa Pharmaceutical who provided them with the information," Fujiwara Makoto interjected at this point.

Wei Tianyang and Spencer looked at her, guessing this possibility as well.

"A high-level executive from Hasegawa Pharmaceutical died here, and they should also know that I am with Fujiwara Makoto, so they leaked our position to that group of Trinities," Wei Tianyang said.

"Hasegawa Pharmaceutical... Yes... Could she be the Witch project?!" Spencer suddenly realized that the little girl with them was no ordinary person.

"I thought you knew that already," Fujiwara Makoto said with a laugh.

"I thought you were a normal person that he had rescued," Spencer said.

"You might as well take off the meme-blocking mask; there’s no language virus here, just Fujiwara Makoto," Wei Tianyang waved his hand.

"Now... the problem is even bigger," Spencer patted his forehead.

"How so?" Wei Tianyang was startled.

"You’ve killed regular forces from Libitelli, maybe even a high-level executive from Hasegawa Pharmaceutical, and stolen their secret plans. This pharmaceutical corporation has an extraordinary position in Churi Country; they are a super-conglomerate that can sway the direction of domestic politics... You’ve offended two countries at once," Spencer said.

"What are they going to do, launch nuclear missiles at me?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"Possibly, but I’m certain that even the United Council can’t protect you this time, since Libitelli is not Chicken Snake Country. And by the way... you’ve also killed four Trinities from the Sethiyan Federation, making things difficult for Steijie too," Spencer said.

"It sounds serious, what do you plan to do now?" Fujiwara Makoto also started to worry.

"Now? I plan to... take a bath, and then find some place to sleep," Wei Tianyang said.
