I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 245 - 243 Entering the Dream

Chapter 245: Chapter 243 Entering the Dream

Wei Tianyang waited until nightfall before deciding to go look for Fujiwara Makoto.

This was mainly because Hasegawa Chiharu needed to rest.

This woman wasn’t particularly old or young. She was just over 30, at most 32, in the prime of her life.

But after 30, when the body matures, all manner of minor ailments begin to surface. Despite being born into the upper class, with plenty of time and money to maintain her health, Chiharu couldn’t ward off the ravages of age. Additionally, having been stabbed in the stomach, her vigor and spirit were greatly reduced.

In the afternoon, she drank some water and ate a little, then lay down and fell back asleep. She slept so deeply that Wei Tianyang stayed by her side, secretly probing her memories with his abilities.

The power given by Zoe’s spine can’t merely be summed up with the phrase "probing thoughts and short-term memory."

More accurately, this ability should be called scanning a certain range of brain electrical signals and reading parts of the hippocampus, striatum, and cerebellum’s activity through physical contact, which are memories.

It’s like a radio, where the arm serves as the antenna.

Wei Tianyang discovered that when he touched the sleeping Chiharu, he could even enter her dreams.

Chiharu was currently immersed in a dream, wrapped in a yukata in a VIP room, drying her wet hair with a hairdryer.

Wei Tianyang stood in a corner of the room, both there and not, for Chiharu did not notice him.

He walked to the door, passed through it, and found nothing but pitch blackness beyond. He then walked to the window and looked out to see a bustling streetscape.

Chiharu’s bathrobe was loosely worn, exposing much of her upper chest.

She looked in the mirror, applied moisturizer, and then called toward the bathroom, "Xi? Are you not finished bathing yet?"

Wei Tianyang was taken aback. He stepped into the bathroom and saw Xi naked, just stepping out of the bathtub, with hot water dripping down the contours of her body onto the floor. She was slight of build but with well-proportioned muscles and beautiful breasts, and slight scars adorned her upper abdomen and back. Her black hair hung over her shoulders, and her face was lit with a joyful smile.

"Big sis, I’ll be out in a moment," Xi laughed.

Wei Tianyang followed Xi out of the bathroom and saw that Chiharu had already shed her bathrobe.

The two embraced each other.

At that moment, the dream collapsed, and Wei Tianyang abruptly opened his eyes to find Chiharu almost awake, a smile spreading on her face, murmuring, "Xi... mm..."

So that’s how it was.

Lovers, perhaps?

Wei Tianyang got up, walked to the window, and looked out onto the street. The streetlights were already on, and the sound of transport planes could be heard in the sky, while many people ran below, chasing the planes’ flight paths, hoping to snatch the airdropped supplies.

Now, the entire city seemed somewhat surreal.

But on further consideration, the power struggles within were extremely complex.

As a member of human dawn, the Fogen Government might have been forced or might have been considering organizational interests when they sealed off this city. The Fogen faction couldn’t represent the entire Libitelli Government’s interests, therefore, Wei Tianyang suspected the airdrops were the work of other political factions within his country.

However, members of the Lingxian Sect had not yet appeared, and Wei Tianyang didn’t know what means they might be using to intervene, so he proceeded with extreme caution.

Soon, the night enveloped everything completely, and Chiharu awoke just in time. She propped herself up, sitting on the edge of the bed, holding her head and shaking it before looking over at Wei Tianyang by the window.

"Did you have a good dream?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"I dreamt of... some past events," Chiharu replied.

"It’s time to go. Do you know where we can find Fujiwara Makoto?" Wei Tianyang asked.

Chiharu nodded.

She took out her cell phone, brought up a program interface, and showed it to Wei Tianyang.

It was a map, with a small green dot flashing at the city’s western location.

"We’ve implanted a tracker in her body, capturing and transmitting the tracking signal through low-altitude unmanned gliders. It can be used even if satellite signals are blocked," Chiharu said.

Wei Tianyang took the smartphone and looked at it. Fujiwara Makoto was now just twelve kilometers from them.

It seemed that she had also been lying in wait, recovering her spiritual power.

"Then, let’s hurry over," Wei Tianyang said.

"Aren’t you going to take any precautions? What if she controls you on the way?" Chiharu asked.

"I feel like she can’t control me. Last night she had countless opportunities but ultimately could only possess an old veteran to lure me," Wei Tianyang replied.

"If I may ask... what is your superpower?" Chiharu inquired.

"Haven’t you seen it before? I can manipulate objects containing iron, from a tiny screw to a helicopter," Wei Tianyang replied.

"That’s really impressive... If only we didn’t have that big misunderstanding when we first met..." Chiharu was still brooding over Xi’s death.

Wei Tianyang shook his head and said, "Let’s go. Are your wounds okay?"

"I can bear the wounds... but... right now..." Chiharu suddenly became somewhat coy.

[I want to pee... How should I say it...]

"You can use the restroom here, although the flush toilet is dirty. If you’re picky, go to the next room—it’s empty, just pee on the floor," Wei Tianyang waved his hand dismissively.

Chiharu’s face turned red, not knowing what to say.

"Be quick. If we find her before she makes a move, we’ll have the upper hand," Wei Tianyang said.

Chiharu nodded and said, "Hi," then took some tissues and left the room.

Wei Tianyang gathered his backpack, mainly packing up the unopened food and water, and then threw away the extra bullets and the drone, only taking the power bank. With this, his gear became much lighter.

He stepped out, only to see four black men awkwardly standing at the door of the room Chiharu had entered into, snickering and attempting to barge in.

"Scram," Wei Tianyang said.

The four black men glared at him, shaking their heads and mouthing off.

Wei Tianyang had no patience, and also suspected these four black men were puppets controlled by Fujiwara Makoto, so he quickly drew Bone Knife, stabbing them straight through like skewered candied haws, then dragged them back into the original room.

He shut the door, leaving the corpses inside, wiping all the blood on his hands onto the door.

Just then, Chiharu came out, seeing Wei Tianyang’s actions, she asked in confusion, "What happened?"

"Nothing much, just some mosquitoes in the corridor," Wei Tianyang replied.

He cleaned his hands, shouldered his pack, and took Chiharu by the arm to go downstairs, making their way to the street.

At that moment, he saw two men coming out of a light green sedan across the street and then taking a large bag of supplies from the back seat.

Wei Tianyang asked Chiharu to wait where she was and walked toward the two men.

"I need to borrow your car," Wei Tianyang said simply.

"Get lost!" The two men were on guard, pulling out switchblades from their pockets.

Wei Tianyang swiftly pressed one man’s head down with his left hand, slamming it against the car door, then fended off another man’s stabbing with his right hand, and with a counter-throw, slammed him hard to the ground.

"Sorry about this, I’ll try to return it when I’m done," Wei Tianyang said.

He waved to Chiharu, and after she got into the car, he closed the door and then drove in the direction of Fujiwara Makoto’s signal.
