I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 243 - 241: Trinity Squad
Chapter 243: Chapter 241: Trinity Squad
The military plane landed at Lusimin Airport.
Spencer glanced at his watch, and it was already 6 PM.
The flight from the Sethiyan Federation to the Western Alliance was a long journey, but traveling on a military plane was considerably fast.
Suddenly, four members of the Superpower Special Department appeared in front of him, and even he couldn’t help but be secretly surprised.
Through earlier communications, he had gotten a rough idea of the capabilities of these four individuals.
Grace, codename "Typhoon," as the name suggests, could accelerate air movement to form a super typhoon of up to category 16, limitless whether inland or along coastal cities. If she were on a coastal area, she could also use this to trigger tsunamis.
She could clear a field alone and had single-handedly dealt with numerous secret wars. Spencer had internally simulated a scenario where she combatted Wei Tianyang, and if it were a surprise attack, Wei Tianyang would undoubtedly perish.
The strongman Jonathan, codename "Iron Man," was also the captain of this trinity squad.
He could transform into an Iron Man of twenty-six different mass levels. The lowest, level one, could ignore pistol bullets, while at the highest, level twenty-six, his mass density was about half that of the moon, causing him to sink into the ground where he stood.
The deadliest part was that in his Iron Man form, he was invulnerable, immune to nearly all forms of physical attacks, but the higher the level, the lower his mobility. At level twenty-six, he almost became a statue.
Spencer judged that he wasn’t a match for Wei Tianyang, since Wei Tianyang’s right fist could annihilate all matter. However, he was an old soldier with rich combat experience and a formidable mental state, which, serving as the pillar of the team, outstripped the value of his iron body by far.
The black man Mette, codename "Melting Point," had the ability to generate extreme heat locally or across his entire body. He couldn’t ignite open flames, but his maximum heat release had reached up to 12,000 degrees—just the heat emission could scald living beings within a large radius and ignite all flammable materials.
Even in a vacuum, this ability remained effective, but he would never allow his entire body to reach high temperatures and seldom generated higher heat outside of experimental conditions since he didn’t want to set his clothes on fire.
Mette’s combat suit was specially made, with a melting point of up to 500 degrees, making it thicker than those of others. He carried no gunpowder weapons but used cold weapons forged from high-temperature-resistant materials and a Gauss rifle that electromagnetically propelled metal bullets.
Spencer believed that Mette had a chance to kill Wei Tianyang, but a sudden rise in temperature would alert Wei Tianyang and trigger instant teleportation to escape, so the opportunity wasn’t very big.
The youngest member was Luke, codename "Sky Curtain." He was a defensive trinity member who could create a transparent crystal barrier with a maximum area of 1,200 square kilometers and a height of 420 meters.
This barrier could resist intercontinental missiles at its strongest, but nuclear bombs could shatter it. It was known that the strength of the crystal barrier depended on Luke’s mental state; every attack on the barrier was essentially an erosion of Luke’s spiritual power.
The moment the barrier rose, if any living creature or object was in its rising position, regardless of what it was, it would be bisected... so he could indeed use this method for demolition work.
The Federation had conducted relevant tests and found that the barrier only rose from the ground. If one dug a pit along its edge, it could be easily breached...
But since he could easily prevent attacks from intercontinental missiles, and the range was decent, he was classified as a trinity level.
These four were the trump cards of the Sethiyan Federation, akin to the might of seven fleets, and neither the House of Representatives nor the White House would deploy them simultaneously unless absolutely necessary.
Moreover, the abilities of three of these individuals originated from the research at United Pharmaceuticals, and Spencer understood how serious Steijie was taking Wei Tianyang’s disappearance.
But he also understood even more clearly that his private contact with Wei Tianyang must have been known to him.
Wei Tianyang’s current situation was concerning, not because he worried about his safety, but because he worried about the great cost the entire world would have to pay should he lose control.
Steijie sending him and the four trinities was a clear sign of his anger, enough to prove how furious he was.
Such an action meant a break in their relationship, and their friendship was beyond repair.
But Spencer had no regrets. His close personal relationship with Steijie was also for political resources, and the value of Wei Tianyang concerned all of humanity.
After all, he had once been part of humanity’s dawn. Humans had stayed at this stage long enough; all technology had to serve the military, and all intelligence ultimately had to battle in political conflicts, and he was tired of it.
"The radio is completely silent. Have you all got your memetic barrier masks and headphones on?" Jonathan took the lead, slinging an ICR automatic rifle across his chest, wrapped a black bandana around his head, and looked back to speak to the team.
"Shortwave communication still works, the maximum range is 1500 meters, which is enough," said Luke.
"Alright, from now on, use code names and remember to protect the VIP. Let’s get moving, starting from the southwestern part of the city," Iron Man said.
"Huah," Melting Point said.
"Let’s go, boys," Typhoon said.
"Let’s go, let’s go," Sky Curtain said.
Spencer was surrounded by the four of them, boarding a bulletproof SUV provided by the Fogen Government, and they drove into the city.
As the evening darkened, the team members remained silent, Typhoon looking down at her tablet, confirming the city map.
Although a language contagion was spreading through the city, there were still many people on the streets, the shops lit but not open for business.
Curious about the new vehicle entering the city, the citizens pointed and gestured at them.
Yet, due to the language contagion, they could not simply go out on the streets to gather intelligence, relying instead on drones and aerial reconnaissance for a carpet search.
The last time Wei Tianyang had broken contact was in that residential area; he had spoken with a resident, so, Captain Iron Man set the first search area to be the apartment buildings near the high walls of the blockade zone.
After driving for about ten minutes through the streets, suddenly two groups appeared ahead, facing off against each other, completely blocking the road.
They were shouting loudly, holding knives and guns, seemingly ready to fight over an airdrop.
"Don’t get involved, don’t get involved," Jonathan said.
Mette, who was driving, tried to detour through another street.
"Damn," Grace shook her head.
"Wait! Wait! That gun!!" Suddenly, Luke pointed outside the window.
The five of them looked toward the windshield, only to see a chubby man holding up an ICR automatic rifle, shouting loudly.
They couldn’t hear what the man was saying, but they recognized the gun...
That ICR rifle was identical to the ones they carried— it could only have been brought in by Wei Tianyang!
