Chapter 176: Chapter 174 Spencer
Wei Tianyang jumped off the container like a ghost and in an instant, he flickered behind the patrolling soldiers. He pulled a knife from a soldier’s body, gripping the handle in his right hand backward and easily drove the blade into their hearts with terrifying force.
It took him just over ten seconds to kill all the guards on the factory’s perimeter. Then, he found a small door and slipped inside the factory.
The factory appeared to be a seafood canning facility, but the production line had long been shut down, and the equipment disassembled, leaving only an empty space.
There weren’t as many guards inside the factory as he had expected, but there were still a good number, over thirty in a corner lining up, listening to a commander’s speech. They were dressed in civilian clothes but wore bulletproof vests, and their shoulders were adorned with a hodgepodge of rifles including ICRs and DRHs, likely captured from battlefields.
There were a few scattered guards patrolling the bridge overhead, and in the third-floor production workshop office, there was the smell of cigars and coffee.
He didn’t see any sign of a nuclear bomb in the factory, so he shifted back into objective reality and in an instant, was on the third floor, stopping outside a room to eavesdrop stealthily.
From the voices inside, he judged there were at least four people in the room, three men and a woman, two of the men around 30, and a steady-voiced elderly man. The woman was also not young, in her prime.
"The items have already been transported, and we hope you can start working on the research soon," the woman said.
"It’s extremely difficult to restart the research, all related data is in my Yixu Laboratory, and your people burned that place down, indirectly destroying all the experimental data I had gathered over the past year. Besides, the support required to research the Heavenly Falling Objects is far beyond your imagination—you simply don’t have the means," the elderly man said.
"We will find a way, money is not an issue, and neither is time," a man said.
"Where did you get the funds?" asked the elderly man.
"Lord Rada Gan will take care of the financial aspects; we just need Black Medicine and the neutralizing agent," the woman said.
"Does Rada Gan truly exist? I’ve never been able to believe it unless you take me to him," the elderly man said.
"It’s not time yet. When you can provide us with what we need, He will naturally meet you," the woman said.
"As far as I know, Azaha does not have the capability to research Black Medicine, and there are no foreign pharmaceutical companies established locally. How did your Rada Gan acquire such capabilities?" the elderly man asked.
"Watch your words! Lord Rada Gan is the only True God, not like those commoners dealing with drugs!" the man said angrily.
"Forgive Professor Spencer’s ignorance," the woman laughed.
Wei Tianyang was shocked. Professor Spencer was here?
At that moment, Spencer continued, "Does his power stem from that horse? If so, he should possess lightning-fast abilities."
"The dead creature that surged from the sea has nothing to do with Lord Rada Gan, Professor Spencer. We can tolerate your ignorance because we need your expertise, but if you continue to insult Lord Rada Gan like this, we can’t protect you. This is the Eternal Sanctuary, and the Yixu people who have lost their faith are not as fervent as us and have forgotten the doctrines of the holy scriptures; they are no longer the chosen ones of God," the woman said.
"Regardless of what you say, unless I can obtain Rada Gan’s DNA, I can’t persuade myself to believe. Moreover, it’s pointless for you to have kidnapped me from Yixu; I’ve said it many times, the research on Black Medicine is not a one-man job, I need a team, I need resources," Spencer said.
"Consider it carefully, Professor Spencer. Our patience is limited," the woman said.
Then, footsteps gradually approached the door, and the green iron door was pushed open with a bang.
In that instant, Wei Tianyang’s Bone Knife stretched towards the door.
His four fingers slightly parted, the leading woman’s eyes were immediately gouged out, and her brain was penetrated and smashed, the Bone Knife exiting through the back of her head and stabbing into one of the men’s necks. With a swing of his right hand, half of the woman’s head was sliced off, and the man’s neck was broken, his head flying off to spin on the ground.
There was another man standing with Spencer, positioned far enough away to not be affected by the Bone Knife’s damage, and he survived by luck. He immediately pulled out a pistol from his thigh upon seeing his companion’s bodies dismembered.
However, the next instant, Wei Tianyang teleported right in front of him, swinging his right hand twice. The first swing detached the man’s gun-holding hand, and the second removed his head.
The gun fell to the ground, the finger still pressing the trigger, and it fired, shattering a glass window. The soldiers below immediately became alert.
Wei Tianyang quickly glanced at Spencer.
Spencer appeared to be in his early fifties, a middle-aged man dressed in a neat casual suit with a white shirt and a brown jacket vest, carrying a black coat in his hand.
Seeing Wei Tianyang, Spencer also quickly assessed him.
"Are you Spencer?" Wei Tianyang asked again.
"I am, but who are you?" Spencer replied.
"Your friend Steijie sent me to bring you back," Wei Tianyang said.
"Oh... Steijie, he told you to stay out of my business..." Spencer shook his head and smiled.
Noise came from below; people were running upstairs, and heavy footsteps echoed in the stairwell.
"One moment," Wei Tianyang said.
As soon as he finished speaking, he disappeared in front of Spencer’s eyes, and then chaotic gunfire and screams came from outside the door.
Wei Tianyang had teleported directly behind the group of soldiers. Not in the mood to kill them one by one with the Bone Knife, he pulled out an AK.
On the muzzle, Li Bin’s face opened its mouth, howling in agony as spirits flew out. The faces on the ammunition drum also twisted in pain, screaming while the gun appeared like a torture chamber filled with prisoners.
The ghost bullets, trailing blue tails, smashed the soldiers in the hallway, shattering the factory’s walls and iron railings like bursts of grenade, the power derived not from gunpowder but from pain and anger.
Holding the AK in one hand, Wei Tianyang felt no recoil with his overpowered right arm, perhaps because the gun indeed had no recoil, not being propelled by gunpowder.
He held the trigger continuously, and after 15 seconds, all the ammunition had been poured out, the walls of the stairwell completely shattered, and corpses blocked the path upstairs.
Then, the surging blood vapor floated up, merging into his right arm while the ammunition drum gradually refilled; however, not enough people had died, and only half of the ammo was restored.
He checked around the inside and outside of the factory to ensure there were no survivors, then returned to the third-floor office.
Professor Spencer remained unflustered, finishing his coffee and relighting half a cigar.
"Are you with the Superpower Special Department? As far as I know, instant teleportation ability is a product of United Pharmaceuticals, project number 128... What’s your name?" Spencer asked.
"Wei Tianyang, you seem to know a lot about the Heavenly Falling Objects," Wei Tianyang said.
"Nobody knows them better than I do. I am the expert among experts," Spencer said.
"Is that so? I’ve always wanted to ask someone... do you know... is there any Heavenly Falling Object that grants the ability to transfer injuries?" Wei Tianyang asked.
