I Am Extraordinary Alone
Chapter 125 - 124 Bird Returns Chicken Snake

Chapter 125: Chapter 124 Bird Returns Chicken Snake

Li Songyan was still downstairs, sitting in his car waiting, when he suddenly heard a huge explosion. He quickly got out and looked up at the fourth floor of the hospital, where Yaha’s ward was engulfed in smoke and dust.

"Not good..." He frowned deeply.

It wasn’t that he was concerned about Yaha’s safety; what truly made Li Songyan anxious was that an attack on Yaha could lead to Wei Tianyang’s rampage.

Li Songyan didn’t want Wei Tianyang to be mired in endless revenge and conflict. If you walk by the river often, how can you not get your shoes wet? No matter how powerful he was, he could eventually fall in a battle.

Allowing an important witness to engage in gunfire with foreign military forces was negligence on his part in his duties.

Li Songyan hurried towards the hospital lobby, only to see Wei Tianyang suddenly appear in front of him, nearly colliding with him.

He saw Wei holding a black touchscreen phone and shaking it in front of him.

"Phone bomb. I was quick, grabbed it before the explosion. Can you ask the United Council to track where this number came from?" Wei Tianyang asked.

Li Songyan took the phone handed over by Wei Tianyang and examined it closely. It was an old phone made of plastic, likely a low-end model, and the casing was loose—probably reassembled from second-hand market parts and flashed with custom ROM. Such electronic products are untraceable; the other party was very professional.

The phone was not locked. Pressing the power button directly brought up the home screen, and there was a row of service numbers in the missed calls.

Li Songyan shook his head and said, "These are automatically generated serial numbers. This type of number changes each time it is dialed, usually done to bypass system-level call detection and interception. Plus, I guess, their measures for concealing the transmission location are also very well executed."

"You’re saying the United Council is this useless?" Wei Tianyang said angrily.

"Don’t take your anger out on me! I’m just a war observer! I don’t have the access rights of senior officials!" Li Songyan replied hotly.

The two men stood on the street, hands on hips, sighing.

"I suggest we leave Chicken Snake Country and return to the United Council. First, ensure your safety, then apply for assistance from higher-level personnel..." Li Songyan suggested.

"Fuck you, I don’t need anyone to ensure my safety! My people have been captured, and you’re advising me to run first? Fuck you!" Wei Tianyang cursed.

He turned to leave, but Li Songyan stepped forward and grabbed his arm, saying, "Don’t rush! Where can you go now? How will you find them? You don’t even know who the enemy is! Don’t be impulsive."

"I have plenty of time. I can use the dumbest method... digging three feet into the ground, flying across the entire Chicken Snake Country, I will surely find them," Wei Tianyang said solemnly.

He planned to enter objective reality, inch by inch, scouring the entire country to find Yaha and others.

The feeling of having immense strength but not knowing where to apply it frustrated and infuriated him.

"Listen to me, let’s go back to the United Council. We’ll have a systematic backup then. I believe the higher-ups should help you... It’s just the two of us now, how can we compete with a fully supported force that is also hidden in the shadows? Look at their methods, absolutely professional!" Li Songyan persuaded.

The two men stood firm, with Wei Tianyang remaining silent. He knew everything Li Songyan said was correct, but it wasn’t helpful at all.

To fight an organization, you need another organization...

Wei Tianyang remembered Yaha’s words and understood the meaning of an organization.

An organization isn’t just about having many people; it’s about having systematic backup support and intelligence gathering capabilities, and being able to operate unimpeded in complex geopolitical environments...

Military prowess is just one aspect of organizational capacity.

To put it plainly, you need a strong backing supporting you, keeping you one step ahead, omniscient, doing as you wish.

The initial words of Li Fei, "You are my son; it’s okay to kill," meant just that.

He originally could rely on the deceased to gather intelligence, but those things had betrayed him, now soulless, and now, he could only rely on himself.

"Hey!"

Just as they were at a loss, a familiar female voice came from behind.

The two turned around, seeing a long-haired woman standing under a tree, dressed in a black cropped coat, tight long leather pants, and black leather ankle boots, wearing sunglasses and carrying a backpack, her face plain but spirited.

"Looks familiar... Ah! It’s Lin Yanqing!" Li Songyan took a moment to recognize her.

Wei Tianyang looked at her, wondering to himself, was she from that superpower special forces of Yin Country?

"Aren’t you supposed to have gone back to your country?" Li Songyan asked with a smile.

Lin Yanqing took off her sunglasses, not offering much of an explanation, and said, "Cut the crap, I can help you find the people who kidnapped Yaha."

Hearing this, Wei Tianyang realized that this was probably Yin Country’s way of reaching out to him, and they had even sent Lin Yanqing, whom he had met before.

But probably unknown to Yin Country’s high-ranking officials, Lin Yanqing didn’t like him much, and the limited two interactions they had were not exactly friendly.

"You would help a demon too?" Wei Tianyang said sarcastically.

"I am here to complete my mission, which doesn’t change my opinion or impression of you," Lin Yanqing replied.

She stood with her arms crossed, her expression serious, deliberately not looking at Wei Tianyang.

"Completing a mission... Okay, I understand," Li Songyan sighed.

This meant that Yin Country was not only trying to please Wei Tianyang but was closely monitoring the situation within Chicken Snake Country and was very aware of Wei’s movements.

It seemed that merely disposing of the phone was still not enough...

"This is not the place to talk. Get in the car, we’re heading to Wuliang City; we can talk on the way," Lin Yanqing said.

As she spoke, she walked towards the van Li Songyang had borrowed.

"This woman’s ability is to use the eyes of birds for surveillance; she knows everything," Li Songyang whispered to Wei Tianyang.

The three of them got into the van, with Li Songyan driving, Wei Tianyang sitting by the door, and Lin Yanqing standing at the front, holding onto the handrail.

The van bounced its way toward Wuliang City.

"International Mercenary Organization, Atlas has been employed by Sethiyan Federation and has entered Chicken Snake Country, bringing nearly 200 people, along with many next-generation military equipment," Lin Yanqing reported.

"PMC... no wonder, this side of the East Continent is Yin Country territory, it’s difficult for the Sethiyan Federation to send regular troops," Li Songyan said.

"Moby Dick is with them too; I saw it. The hospital attack was a joint operation by PMC and the Superpower Special Forces. Four squads capable of long-distance teleportation with multiple units blitzed the hospital," Lin Yanqing said.

Li Songyan looked at Lin Yanqing and said, "The Superpower Special Forces from the Sethiyan Federation? Chicken Snake Country is now a real devil’s den, with all sorts of people entering."

"Everyone is eying 091, if they can’t have it, they’d rather destroy it. I’m afraid that’s the attitude of the Sethiyan Federation," Lin Yanqing said.

"And what about your Yin Country?" asked Li Songyan.

"I never guess the thoughts of those above. I just want to complete my own missions," Lin Yanqing shook his head.

Wei Tianyang stayed silent but was acutely aware of how Yin Country and the Sethiyan Federation, as well as the previously mentioned Li Fei, viewed him.

They regarded him as some sort of tool that could be used.

"Even if you help me, I won’t accept Yin Country’s subsequent arrangements," Wei Tianyang said.

"I don’t care; my current mission is to scout Atlas’s movements, I don’t care about the rest," Lin Yanqing curtly said.

"Do you know where they are?" Wei Tianyang cut to the chase.

"I don’t know the specific location, but our satellites tracked Moby Dick’s cell phone signal. The last time he called Yaha, he was still in Wuliang City. Considering he was taken away by Atlas’s men immediately upon landing, I guess he is with them," Lin Yanqing said.

"Do you know the exact location?" Li Songyan interjected.

"I’m not sure. Atlas must have borrowed the satellites of the Sethiyan Federation. Since last night, Chicken Snake Country has been in a state of electromagnetic interference; intercepting Moby’s resistant phone signals was already difficult enough," Lin Yanqing said.

While they were speaking, the cell phone in Wei Tianyang’s pocket suddenly rang.

He took it out, and it was a string of unknown numbers.

"Is this your phone?" Lin Yanqing asked.

"No, it’s a phone bomb..." Wei Tianyang said with a frown.

"Wait before you answer," Lin Yanqing also pulled out his cell phone. He also took out a folded small box from his bag, attached it to the back of his phone via magnetic suction, then unfolded a long antenna on the side.

"3, 2,... answer the call," Lin Yanqing said.

Wei Tianyang pressed the answer button, and the voice of an old man came from the other side.

"Wei? Can you hear me? We’ve met twice; I’m Alfred. Do you remember me?" Alfred said.

Wei Tianyang remained silent.

Lin Yanqing gestured to him to say something, to string along the conversation.

"Where is Yaha?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"You have two friends here; we’re only missing you. I’d really like to have another talk with you regarding my previous proposal. I think you should seriously consider it," Alfred said.

"I’m not interested in that. Let Yaha take the call," Wei Tianyang said.

"She... She’s not available right now, and besides, she doesn’t have hands to take the call," Alfred said.

"Anyone else there? Starbucks? Kacha?" Wei Tianyang asked.

"I don’t know. I’ll have to ask... Wait a moment," Alfred laughed.

A few seconds later, he continued, "I’m sorry, Wei, your other friends were KIA during the operation."

"What does KIA mean?" Wei Tianyang asked.

Lin Yanqing and Li Songyan’s expressions changed.

"They didn’t make it, Wei. If they had surrendered at the time, perhaps they could have survived," Alfred said.

Wei Tianyang’s face turned pale; his right hand involuntarily clenched harder, causing the phone screen to crack.

"Let Yaha take the phone!!" Wei Tianyang shouted angrily.

"Moby Dick is currently playing with her; they are both busy. Let me let you hear her voice; she’s still alive, I assure you," Alfred chuckled.

Then, sounds of Yaha moaning and vomiting transmitted through the phone.

"You are all doomed," Wei Tianyang whispered menacingly.

"Boy... do you think you’re invincible now? After slaughtering tens of thousands of unarmed innocents and defeating a small nation’s army equipped from the 1990s, you think you’re some comic book supervillain? Wei, you have no right, no ability, and no qualification to refuse the requests of the Sethiyan Federation. You don’t," Alfred said coldly.

"It’s almost ready... the satellite is analyzing the links; their location is about to be exposed. Just stall him a bit longer," Lin Yanqing whispered.

"Before," Wei Tianyang said.

"Before? What are you saying?" Alfred asked, puzzled.

"Before I killed... it was swift and decisive..." Wei Tianyang said.

"Oh? Is that so? How does it feel?" Alfred laughed.

"You and Moby Dick... I swear... I will take my time..." Wei Tianyang said.

Lin Yanqing looked at him, frowning.

"Come on, Wei, let’s see what you’ve got. The only park in Wuliang City, Yaha and Moby Dick are both there. Let’s see what you can do," Alfred laughed.

Wei Tianyang slowly put down the phone, his right fist clenched tightly, the poor plastic phone cracking and breaking into pieces.

"They aren’t in the park; we’ve decrypted the real signal location of the call; it’s at a five-star hotel on the western low mountain," Lin Yanqing said.
