I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 123 - 122: Capture Operation
Chapter 123: Chapter 122: Capture Operation
"Our chance to attack may only come once," the captain said.
"Once? I don’t think so. Intelligence shows he can neutralize artillery weapons and control soil. Other than that, there’s not much to worry about. Our weapons have been modified with electromagnetic propulsion; he can’t control them. We can completely cover the area where he is with firepower," Elizabeth said.
The captain shook his head, then continued, "The principle behind his ability to neutralize weapons is still unknown. It’s likely that simply switching from gunpowder weapons to electromagnetic ones won’t be sufficient."
"You are being too cautious, Captain. He’s just an unfinished product who escaped from a pharmaceutical lab without any support," Elizabeth stated openly.
"Never underestimate any enemy if you want to win every battle. Moreover, we received the latest information last night. He also possesses instant teleportation ability and his close combat skills are extraordinary," the captain said.
"We’ve encountered special forces with teleportation abilities from West Soil, their ace squads have a few people with such abilities, indeed tricky... but not impossible to deal with. He surely can’t teleport infinitely, right? We have the equipment to stop him," Elizabeth said.
"Can we set up a shock field, using high-decibel sound and bright flashes to disrupt him? If we can’t kill him in the first ambush, it will be hard to find him again," the captain said.
"Of course, we have an armored vehicle equipped with a high-frequency sonic emitter. I’m just worried whether his physique can withstand the impact of that sound wave," Elizabeth replied.
"Good, and we have to ensure the battleground has no visible large amount of soil, with the first round of attack centered on sniping. Actually, a more secure method would be a missile saturation strike, but the mission requires us to bring back the body..." the captain said.
"Does it have to be the entire body? Our armored vehicle also has an electromagnetic cannon that could shatter his upper body, leaving some limbs and tissue should be enough for your research," Elizabeth said.
"I’m not a scientist. To ensure the success of the mission, I prefer bringing back the whole body," the captain shook his head.
"Okay, understood. We still have Moby Dick, and once we catch Yaha, he’ll have to come anyhow. We have to set this up well... we can’t make the trap too obvious," Elizabeth said.
"Let’s catch Yaha first," the captain said.
After their conversation, the two each led their teams to the midpoint of the hillside to gather, with four Superpower Special Department forces, each surrounded by two squads of four.
"Get ready. Look at the photo of the hospital, imagine we are there... Remember the landing spot to avoid teleportation overlap," the captain commanded over the encrypted channel.
PMC waited quietly, curiously observing the special forces beside them.
The next second, it went dark before their eyes...
Their feet briefly hung in the air, their bodies plummeting rapidly in the dark void; in a fleeting glance, some saw a blood-red sky and a moon sinking into a river of blood...
But in a breath, they were once again on solid ground, bodies twisted awkwardly, struggling to maintain their original positions, some nearly falling.
However, the main gate of the hospital in Kongse had indeed appeared before them—or rather, they had traveled dozens of kilometers from Wuliang City to Kongse in less than two seconds.
"Fuck... where am I?"
"Damn... Did we really just teleport?"
In PMC’s channel, some marveled, others forgot their mission.
All four special forces squads knelt, withdrawing antidotes from their waist packs and injecting themselves in the necks.
PMC stayed in place temporarily, allowing teammates who lost two hours of memory to quickly get up to speed through video and mission briefings.
It wasn’t raining in Kongse, the operatives appearing suddenly on the street soaking wet, catching many bystanders by surprise.
Honestly, the Superpower Special Department operatives enjoyed the sensation of being watched, giving them a transcendent thrill. Their aura of superiority was just right—not too little to make others feel they could do it too, yet not too much to instill a fear that made people want to flee. It struck a chord of novelty and awe, compelling a second glance, yet maintaining a sense of reverence towards the power that bred a reluctant awe.
"Are you ready?" the captain asked.
"Ready. The target is inside, on the fourth floor. Pheromone levels have matched," PMC connected to the operational channel.
"Alpha and Bravo Teams, go inside; Delta and Gamma Teams, surround the building!"
"GO! GO! GO!!"
PMC members stormed in, violently pushing doctors and patients in the lobby aside. Meanwhile, Delta Team deployed smoke grenades on every floor, and Gamma Team established a perimeter defense.
Alarms blared loudly in the hospital, smoke billowing everywhere.
"Cough cough... What’s happening?!" Fountain, who was in the corridor, panicked.
Kacha and Starbucks drew their pistols from their waists, sensing trouble was imminent. Without much hesitation, they rushed into the ward and lifted Yaha from the bed.
"It must be for us, head to the rooftop," Kacha said, holding Yaha.
Starbucks nodded and distributed the pistols from his bag to the remaining half-done, who, devoid of combat skills, now had to fight for themselves.
Starbucks, at the front, saw figures charging through the dense smoke in the distant corridor. Not caring who it was, he yelled, "Fire! Fire!"
The half-done pulled the triggers, and the roar of 9mm pistols echoed off the corridor walls.
At the same time, Starbucks’ eyes flashed red, cautiously taking control of the attackers’ gunpowder weapons.
Whoosh!
A small projectile flew through the air, leaving a bloody hole in Fountain’s face. His head exploded from the side, and he fell tragically onto a bench by the wall.
Starbucks, both saddened and enraged, yelled, "Fall back! Fall back!"
Then, four PMC members with air filtration masks and enhanced vision goggles burst through the smoke.
Electromagnetic rifles!
In a matter of seconds, all the half-done were shot down.
Starbucks continued firing back, but 9mm bullets had no effect against their ceramic bulletproof vests.
Suddenly, she felt pain in her thigh, then her shoulder. Her body cooled, and she collapsed to the ground, her right arm beginning to fail her.
"Starbucks!!" Kacha, holding Yaha at the staircase near the corridor’s end, watched her helplessly.
"Go!! Run!!" Starbucks, lying on her back, shouted at him.
With tears in his eyes, Kacha ran upstairs, holding Yaha.
The PMCs stepped over Starbucks, ignoring her, and chased in the direction Kacha and Yaha had escaped.
She picked up the gun with her left hand, rolled over, and tried to keep firing.
But then, her head was violently stamped into the ground. Then she felt intense pain in her back as metal bullets penetrated her body, shattering her spine and organs.
Unable to hold back, she spat out a mouthful of warm blood, then drifted into unconsciousness.
"Target KIA."
"KIA."
"Kill confirmed."
"Yaha and another went upstairs."
With the PMC team in front and the Superpower Special Department behind, they confirmed the deaths of the half-done and continued pursuing upstairs.
