Chapter 113: Chapter 112 Chicken Snake Country No Longer Needs You

Wei Tianyang extended his five fingers toward the dark shadow, and then, as if cutting through objective reality, in the next second, the Bone Knife shot out straight as a skewer and threaded through the helmets and heads of those dozen men before him. With a lift of his hand, he severed their spines along with their heads, and the heads rolled to the ground.

The gunfire ceased, the smoke dissipated, and dust scattered in front of him. Parting the smoke, Wei Tianyang saw at the staircase corner opposite, Kacha was preparing to counterattack with the last six survivors.

Kacha raised his hand to aim and, upon seeing Wei Tianyang, quickly shouted to those behind him, "Don’t shoot! It’s Ishmael!"

Kacha’s face was covered in grime, and his body stained with blood -- likely from being caught in the blast of a tank’s fire.

"Kong Kong is still downstairs! We have to..."

Before Kacha could finish, Wei Tianyang placed both hands on his shoulders and said, "There are no survivors left downstairs. I’ve killed all the invaders."

He fell silent for a moment, his eyes reddening before he collapsed to the ground in dejection.

Wei Tianyang noticed that these remaining unfinished products had only small-caliber handguns as weapons.

"Where are our guns?" he asked.

"The attack was too sudden! We never imagined someone would dare to storm in... Many people died in the armory when they went down to get their guns, blown up by the tanks," Kacha explained.

Wei Tianyang grabbed Kacha’s arm and hoisted him up from the ground before turning his gaze to the last six unfinished products.

Each of these people had logistic-type superpowers.

"We can’t stay here, let’s go to the hospital first," Wei Tianyang decided.

After saying this, he remembered he had left things in his room, so he turned to Kacha and instructed, "You all go to your rooms, pack up your belongings, and also check Yaha’s room to see if there’s anything essential that needs to be taken... Once you’ve gathered your things, meet at the underground parking garage."

Everyone nodded then dispersed in different directions.

Wei Tianyang rushed back to his room, pulled out the briefcase containing evidence from under the bed, and was relieved to find it undamaged.

He opened his backpack to organize the contents: a folder with the label 091, the Rain Man’s cellphone, charger, two novels, and his mug.

He crammed everything into the bag, and the briefcase, though small, barely fit.

Everyone was packed, and Kacha was on the phone with Starbucks while following instructions to pack up Yaha’s belongings into two backpacks. Then he hurried to the parking garage.

They arrived at the hospital led by Wei Tianyang, looking much like refugees.

Yaha’s surgery was complete and she now lay in the ICU for observation. The ICU here was indistinguishable from any regular hospital room.

Li Songyan, an outsider to the situation, could only stand by in silence as he saw Wei Tianyang bring in a few people. He guessed the fate of the Black House.

Kacha and Starbucks embraced and kissed while the others stood helplessly and bewilderedly outside the ward. Wei Tianyang did not hand the briefcase over to Li Songyan but continued to carry it on his person. He now relied on it as leverage against Li Songyan to secure assistance from the United Council.

Starbucks said, "After Yaha wakes up... how are we going to tell her..."

Wei Tianyang turned back, glanced at the door to the ward, and said coldly, "She knew a day like this would come, she always knew..."

"You are being too cruel... Ishmael," Starbucks replied, dissatisfied.

"Those pharmaceutical companies were never our ’ticket,’" Wei Tianyang told her, "I warned her, but she never listened. She’s trapped in that dream, unwilling to wake up. Her destruction was inevitable."

"Even if she faces destruction... I will follow her to the end," Starbucks declared.

"Um, what do we do now?" Fountain, who had not spoken until now, asked timidly.

"Regardless of anything else, we have completed our revenge. You have obtained what you wanted..." Wei Tianyang said.

"Uh... I... I don’t know... Actually, I’m not that obsessed with revenge..." The fountain admitted, somewhat embarrassed.

The other five unfinished products were also silent, seeming to share the fountain’s sentiment, not following Yaha purely for the sake of revenge.

They had not ventured out, and after Yaha rescued them, they only wished to follow her and carry on with their lives in a methodical way.

That way of thinking was not wrong...

Not everyone possesses the motivation and ability for revenge.

To strive to live on is also an objective.

However, an organization cannot accommodate too many such individuals, and Yaha wanted to use revenge to unite these unfinished products. She must have been aware that some of them were merely paying lip service.

It was precisely for this reason that her dream seemed so unattainably distant.

Superpowered mercenaries... Wei Tianyang was not sure if there was a similar organization in this world, but even if there were, it would not look like the Black House.

That was an army...

The Black House was not an army...

They kept watch until nightfall, when Li Songyan took two phone calls, indicating that the United Council’s medical team had arrived at the airport in Wuliang City and was about to drive to Kongse. The rest of the unfinished products sat resting outside the sickroom, with Yaha still unconscious.

Wei Tianyang took off his backpack and handed it to Kacha, then turned to leave.

"Where are you going?"

Kacha saw Wei Tianyang preparing to leave, his expression somewhat anxious.

With Yaha unconscious, among the few remaining in the Black House, Wei Tianyang was the absolute combat strength and leader.

"I’m going... to have a talk with the traitors," Wei Tianyang said.

"When... will you be back?" Kacha asked again.

Wei Tianyang placed his hand on his shoulder and smiled, "Not very long, when I come back, I’ll bring you guys some coffee."

He slipped into objective reality and in an instant arrived at the Black House.

The pitch-black hotel had now become ruins, the burned artificial forest razed to the ground. It had to be said that Li Fei’s army was quite professional, containing the flames within the hotel’s vicinity.

He kicked open the jammed door and entered the lobby littered with rubble, where the candle-stuck chandelier frame had fallen to the floor, shattered in half.

He straightened a chair on the ground and sat in the moonlight by the doorway.

In the darkness of the lobby, the clicking sound of a lighter echoed, followed by the flickering red glow of a cigarette in the shadows. Li Bin slowly walked into the moonlight by the doorway, his expression tranquil.

"I know what you’re going to ask, why we didn’t lend a hand," Li Bin said.

Wei Tianyang remained silent, allowing him to continue.

"They are descendants of the Liberation Front, we couldn’t possibly intervene, I hope you understand..." Li Bin spoke while taking a drag on his cigarette, making the tip glow fiery red.

"No, I’m not talking about that. You must have known early on that Li Fei was going to make a move on the Black House," Wei Tianyang shook his head.

"We haven’t betrayed you, we... have fulfilled our promise, haven’t we? You helped us, and we helped you, we are even. We are not friends, just using each other... Chicken Snake Country is at peace now... there’s no longer a need for you here." Li Bin said.
