I Am Extraordinary Alone -
Chapter 112 - 111: Sunken Ship
Chapter 112: Chapter 111: Sunken Ship
Wei Tianyang rushed back to Pei Guode Hotel, and all the half-finished ones were aware of Yaha’s attack, all gathering on the seventh floor.
Yaha’s wrists had been wrapped in bandages and hemostatic cloth by Starbucks and the others, looking like she was wearing boxing gloves, she had lost too much blood and was now in a coma, yet nobody present intended to take her to the hospital.
Wei Tianyang was also very anxious and demanded, "Why aren’t you taking her to the hospital?!"
"No way! Our safety depends entirely on the pharmaceutical companies’ protection of this hotel’s area. Yaha is already being targeted. If we take her to the hospital, it will be giving the assassins a chance," Starbucks said.
"Protection?! There’s no protection anymore! The people moving against Yaha are this country’s military, and the one behind it is Red Pharmaceutical’s Moby Dick! I’ve said it before... they won’t give her what she wants..." Wei Tianyang said.
"Then... what do we do... now..." Starbucks also ran out of ideas.
"Isn’t there anyone in the black house who knows medical skills?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"We have Yaha... so we... didn’t need a doctor..." Kacha said.
"Have you never considered what to do in case something happens to Yaha?!" Wei Tianyang shouted angrily.
Seeing his furious appearance, no one dared to make a sound.
He thought it over and made a call to Li Songyan on his mobile phone; the latter picked up quickly.
"Li Songyan?! You haven’t left Chicken Snake Country yet, have you?" he urgently asked.
"Not yet, I can leave tomorrow, what’s up?! You sound like something has happened," Li Songyan asked.
"Can you get the United Council to send a few doctors capable of surgery to the black house?" Wei Tianyang said.
"No! First off, I don’t have that authority... and besides, that area is off-limits. It’s still up to the pharmaceutical companies for affairs under the table," Li Songyan said helplessly.
"There’s no off-limits anymore! The army has moved against our people! I need a doctor now!" Wei Tianyang said.
"What...? The army... alright, I understand... Doctors... let me think..." Li Songyan’s tone also became anxious.
"If you can’t fix up the doctor, don’t expect me to testify for you in Yin Country, and you can forget about getting the evidence you gave me back!" Wei Tianyang threatened.
"Cool down... don’t get upset, I’ll find a way. How badly is your person hurt? Is it a gunshot wound or a burn? How many people are injured?" Li Songyan said.
"Right now it’s just one, both hands severed, she needs limb reattachment surgery," Wei Tianyang said.
"Damn... I’ll contact the council, you get your person out of the black house and into the hospital, at least for initial bleeding control and suturing. Saving her life is more important. I’ll be coming over too," Li Songyan said.
"Okay," Wei Tianyang said.
After they finished, both hung up the phone, Wei Tianyang wrapped the unconscious Yaha in his coat and picked her up to leave.
Starbucks took care of driving, Kacha intended to follow, but Starbucks persuaded him to stay in the black house, taking charge of the remaining people to reinforce their defenses in anticipation of the next attack.
"After you’ve secured the hotel’s defenses, take some people to the hospital. I don’t want Yaha being disturbed there," Starbucks said.
After that, she kissed Kacha on the lips.
"Go ahead... be safe," Kacha said reluctantly.
The two said goodbye, and Starbucks followed Wei Tianyang out of the hotel.
They drove to Konse Hospital, and Yaha was quickly arranged into the emergency surgery ward.
She was sweating all over from the pain, her eyes tightly closed, lips bloodless, the doctors hurriedly pushed her into the operating room for emergency treatment of her wounds.
Her severed hands were also brought by Wei Tianyang in plastic bags, and the doctors all turned pale when they saw him take out the hands from the bag. A few nurses couldn’t bear it and vomited on the spot.
"We... can’t do the limb reattachment surgery," the doctor said regretfully.
That’s the level of medical care in Chicken Snake Country... whether Yaha could survive was now up to fate.
At that moment, Li Songyan also arrived at the hospital; Wei Tianyang informed him of their location over the phone, and he hurried over.
Upon meeting, Li Songyan looked at the red light of the operating room and said, "Don’t worry, it’s the 22nd century, this kind of injury isn’t much..."
But he didn’t sound very confident; after all, Chicken Snake Country was still stuck in the 21st century, barely on par with Yin Country in 2005.
"What did the United Council say?!" Wei Tianyang asked.
"I’ve done my best to obtain help. The council will send a medical team to transfer Yaha to Cyprus; she can recover there in peace, and you can come with me to Yin Country..." Li Songyan said.
Hearing this, Wei Tianyang furrowed his brows and resolutely refused, "No! That would be like abducting Yaha as a hostage! You don’t trust me at all!"
"Wei Tianyang, there’s no other choice! The treatment conditions in Chicken Snake Country can’t compare to the council’s, plus you have to consider... your own danger," Li Songyan said.
"We didn’t choose to become like this willingly!!" Wei Tianyang shouted angrily.
Li Songyan also looked helpless; he shook his head, not knowing what to say.
At that moment, the sound of tanks and military cars speeding past echoed on the streets, and the whirring of helicopter rotors grew increasingly close in the sky.
"What’s going on?" Starbucks became alert.
"The military," Wei Tianyang said.
"Old model tanks and armed helicopters... I can identify the helicopter models from the sound of their engines," Li Songyan said.
As soon as he finished speaking, the sound of artillery and explosions came from the distant city.
Starbucks’ phone rang in response, and she quickly answered the call.
"Don’t come back! The army is besieging us! You guys find a chance to escape quickly!" On the phone, there was the sound of Kacha.
Tears welling in her eyes, Starbucks shouted, "I’m coming to support you! Wait for me!!"
"Wait a minute!" Wei Tianyang said sternly.
He glanced at the red light above the operating room door, then at Li Songyan and Starbucks.
"You two stay here, I’ll take a look," he said.
"Ishmael, kill them all..." Starbucks said, holding back tears.
Wei Tianyang nodded, turned, and stepped into objective reality.
The artificial forest in front of the Pei Guode Hotel had been ignited by flamethrowers, creating a sea of fire; two armed helicopters circled above the hotel, their large-caliber machine guns raining firepower onto the building’s floors.
Six trucks carrying hundreds of Chicken Snake People’s Army soldiers were moving forward, sheltered by three tanks, on the flank of the hotel. The main cannons of the tanks had already blasted a large hole in the side wall, and several soldiers rushed in under the cover of smoke and flash grenades.
Wei Tianyang exited objective reality, appearing abruptly within range of the tanks; he looked at the ruined hotel, the burning forest, and the soldiers who were mobilizing.
The glowing patterns spread from his right arm to his cheek, and the shadow on the ground was no longer in the shape of a person but rather a colossal, moth-winged giant, dozens of times larger than himself.
He saw that it was indeed Li Fei’s army.
Months ago, they were the revolutionary new army that ignited the revolution, liberating the entire country; now, they had turned into old warlords who fired at will on their own soil.
To hell with them all...
He raised his right hand, and a layer of visible black magnetic field swirled around him.
Suddenly, the helicopters in the sky lost their hovering power, and those three tanks began to float slightly.
To hell with them all.
You are no different from them.
The greater significance... isn’t absolute order...
Absolute order brings absolute oppression, and absolute oppression cannot bring fairness and justice.
For the greater significance, you all must die...
Wei Tianyang, unable to contain his fury, clenched his right fist tightly, and the helicopters plummeted to the ground with a clang before exploding into fireballs.
Then the fireballs rose again and rolled towards the infantrymen who had not yet entered the hotel.
Burning steel rolled over the crowd, turning two squads of infantrymen into severed mush.
But up until now, they still hadn’t spotted the attacker.
Wei Tianyang turned to look at the three hovering tanks, stretched out his right hand, and shouted; his arm turned bony and gaunt, but the three tanks also shot up like balloons, thirty meters into the air.
He didn’t stop there; his twisted open palm and red eyes trembled disorderly in their dark sockets.
The tanks emitted the sound of metal fatigue, gun barrels slowly bent, tracks snapped, and turrets and hulls were squeezed by some unknown force, visibly flattening.
The black patterns on Wei Tianyang’s right arm raced, devouring his flesh, and when his arm once again turned skeletal, the three tanks were completely transformed into crumpled balls of metal...
Blood and flesh trickled from the gaps in the iron balls, dripping onto the blackened soil—those were the remains of the crew trapped in the cockpits, their flesh deformed by the crushing force.
Wei Tianyang looked at the nearby infantry camp and hurled the iron balls over.
Then, he entered objective reality again; his skeletal right arm turned into a black Bone Knife as he cut into the scene, already amidst the soldiers.
Next, flesh flew in every direction, leaving a large pile of heads and limbs on the ground.
Red blood swirled around the skeletal right arm, slowly restoring to flesh. He charged into the hotel and began killing from behind.
The Bone Knife, along with the wall, bisected soldiers at the hip; he had just reached the second floor up the staircase when he saw Xianxian’s blown-apart corpse.
He followed the bloody trail to where the second floor had been blasted open; the room directly across the gaping hole was already a bloody muck.
He leaped over the hole to the third floor, where a few soldiers had just burst into Kacha’s room, only to be met with the sound of a dance.
Wei Tianyang rushed over to see Kong Kong, soaked in blood and missing an arm, putting up one last fight.
Kong Kong, seeing Wei Tianyang, suddenly found hope on his exhausted and desperate face.
Wei Tianyang clawed those soldiers into minced meat, and only then did Kong Kong slump down powerless onto the ground.
Wei Tianyang approached to check his wounds, only to realize that Kong Kong had used his last ounce of strength and, after a few breaths, closed his eyes forever.
He had no choice but to lay down Kong Kong’s body, re-enter objective reality, and search for any trace of Kacha.
When he reached the fifth floor, he found it packed with clusters of shadows; clearly, the soldiers were fighting an assault battle against the half-finished products.
