Chapter 830: Chapter 830 Why Did You Go Looking For Trouble With Him

An accident occurred; the boat’s motor broke down.

At this very moment, the sky was filled with the sound of thunder, looking like a downpour was imminent.

This was a small fishing boat, without even a cabin; if it rained, getting soaked would be the least of their worries. The boat might even capsize.

"Boss, did you check the weather forecast before we left?"

"Yes, it said no rain."

No sooner had Suizi finished speaking than the sky was split by a clap of thunder, clearly showing that the weather forecast could be wrong.

"Searching for the Boss to no avail, and dying unexpectedly on the way..." The youngest one felt desolate.

"Who knows if the third and the fourth can hire a Daoist to summon our souls on shore... Does King Yama take care of those who die at sea?"

"What kind of time is it, and you still have the energy to crack jokes?!" The second oldest kicked him, wondering what was going through his head!

"If we row towards the shore with the oars now, can we make it in time?" The youngest one looked around. The fog was thick, visibility was low, and it was unclear where the shore was.

"Boss, you’re the one with all the wisdom. Got any good ideas?"

Suizi pulled two items from her pocket and laid them in her palm: her maiden’s hair clip and her son’s lollipop.

"These are the lucky charms my boy and girl twins gave me before they left, hoping they’d turn danger into safety."

"..." Both the second and the youngest fell silent.

So the clever Boss also believed in this kind of mysticism.

Frank was awoken by the thunder; he had been unconscious until now.

The situation before his eyes scared him into shivering.

"I don’t want to die at sea, help!!!"

Suizi grabbed an oar and smacked him with it; he was too loud.

Frank’s eyes rolled back, and he fainted again.

Perhaps his screaming had carried far, because Suizi and the others thought they heard a familiar voice not far off.

The excited youngest one stood up and shouted with all his might.

"Is anyone there? Help~~~ Our boat is broken~~~"

"The youngest?" Upon hearing this call, no one else reacted, but Suizi excitedly stood up.

"Jingting!!!!!!"

It was his voice; she remembered!

The second and the youngest now realized, right, that was the Boss’s voice!

"Wife?! Damn it, how did you get here?"

It had been a long time since she had heard him curse, but now it sounded like the sweetest melody in Suizi’s heart.

"Damn, did mysticism actually work?" The youngest stared at the two "lucky charms" in Suizi’s hand, suddenly feeling a surge of relief at having survived a disaster.

The wind parted the mist, and a beam of light shone through.

A boat bobbed over the waves, with a man standing on it, burly in stature, holding a flashlight in his hand. In the dazzling light of the flashlight, Yu Jingting’s face was clearly visible.

Suizi happily waved her hands, tears streaming down her face as she cried.

She covered her mouth, too excited to speak, not daring to blink, staring intensely at him.

As the boat drew closer, Yu Jingting laid out a plank and gestured everyone to come aboard his boat.

As for Frank, who was still unconscious, they left him on the broken boat, tied to the other with a rope. Whether he would end up in the sea was all up to fate.

"Why did you come?" Yu Jingting helped Suizi aboard, and before she had even steadied herself, she was wrapped tightly around his waist.

Suizi burst into tears as soon as she reached this familiar embrace, her tense nerves completely relaxed as she clung to Yu Jingting.

"Don’t cry, it’s all right now," Yu Jingting soothed Suizi as he stroked her.

Without needing Suizi to tell him, he guessed why she would be there.

His princess had learned that he was in danger and had taken up her treasured sword to rescue him; his little maiden might seem quiet and demure, but she could provide a strong sense of security whenever trouble arose.

"Boss, where did you get the boat?" The second in command saw that Yu Jingting was unharmed and felt both exhilarated and utterly bewildered.

"Stole it from that idiot’s men over there—this is our family’s boat now, go fishing whenever you like," Yu Jingting said, holding Suizi, unconcerned.

"What’s that?" The fifth in command spotted the huge canvas bag Yu Jingting was carrying, filled with stuff.

"Spoils of war, I’ll divide it among you when we get back, fair shares for all."

Once everyone was aboard Yu Jingting’s boat, they saw he was steering alone, with bottles of wine and peanuts beside him.

The second in command’s mouth twitched repeatedly.

"Boss, we were so worried we were nearly dead, and you’re just enjoying your booze and peanuts, steering drunk?"

"How long has it been since you ate?" Suizi touched his face, her hand then sliding to his chest, feeling how he had lost all his chest muscles, too much had wasted away.

"Just under two days, couldn’t find anything else to eat—hey, don’t cry, big brother enjoys a little wine," Yu Jingting said as he hurried to wipe her tears, seeing her turn into a tearful mess.

Only she could see through the surface of problems and strike at their core.

"What in the world happened? How did you end up with someone else’s boat?" The fifth in command couldn’t wait to ask.

"The orphan with no mother, it’s a long story...."

Frank had trapped Yu Jingting on the island, sending a couple of men to keep watch, with the intent of preventing Yu Jingting from escaping anytime soon.

Although this man was a reckless spendthrift who respected no laws, he didn’t want to violate mainland law; he didn’t dare commit murder or kidnapping, so he thought to trap Yu Jingting for a few days. When he’d let him go, he’d claim that Yu Jingting had just gotten lost—without evidence to the contrary—and in the process wear him down.

Little did he know that Yu Jingting, who started as a street urchin, was skilled enough in fighting to handle a couple of goons without much trouble.

He could have escaped yesterday, but Yu Jingting made an unexpected discovery on the island, which while investigating, delayed him. With no communication facilities on the island to contact the outside world, he couldn’t get in touch with his brothers.

"The fools that Frank sent were no good. While I was still trapped inside, his men were outside drinking, which made it easy for me to knock them out with a knife handle, steal the boat keys and the wine, and make my getaway," Yu Jingting said nonchalantly.

On the way, he encountered Suizi and the others whose boat had broken down, resulting in a mutual rescue.

"My man, you really are something. While others get kidnapped and are all scared and stressed, the kidnappers are the ones who suffer bad luck when they capture you... But weren’t they stingy, only eating peanuts with their drink?"

"There was meat, sweet and sour pork loin, but unfortunately, I didn’t get to eat any," Yu Jingting said, seeing Suizi constantly wiping away tears. He had suffered a bit and felt sorry for her, so to prevent Suizi from worrying, he deliberately talked about something lighthearted to cheer her up.

"Do you know where the sweet and sour pork loin went?"

Suizi looked up at him with her red, swollen eyes, and Yu Jingting showed a mischievous smile.

"I spread it out quite evenly on them, particularly on those two lumps—lathered them with extra coating."

"??? Where, explain clearly!"

"There’s a widow on the island, who lost her husband many years ago. Those two kept gabbing about her day in, day out, and you all know I’m a kind-hearted person," he explained.

So, before he left, he stripped those two men naked, smeared their bodies with the syrup from the sweet and sour pork loin, and tied them to a tree in front of the widow’s home.

The flavor of sweet and sour pork loin would attract both sparrows and ants... it’s just a matter of who makes the first move.

"...These idiots, why did they provoke you." The second in command was once again shocked by Yu Jingting’s ruthlessness and looked at Frank in the rear boat sympathetically.

If his men ended up so miserable, the instigator was in for big trouble... tsk tsk tsk.
