Chapter 754: The Most Terrifying Place
Chapter 754: Chapter 754: The Most Terrifying Place
When Yu Jingting saw the room filled with his wife’s name, he felt like his heart has been torn open by Fan Lili.
He wanted to rip apart not just Fan Lili, but also the doctors and nurses at the mental hospital. All that money paid each year and this is the result?
Far from a cure, she was getting crazier, and they even let this lunatic escape.
"Try to contact the owner of the house, arrange for the owner’s consent, repaint the room, I’ll cover the costs," Yu Jingting informed the police, "Don’t let my wife see this. Hire workers immediately, I’ll pay three times the rate for them to work overnight."
In this room, not only were the walls covered with blood messages, there were also dishes and chopsticks on the table, and a telescope was found on the window ledge.
Thinking of the lunatic in this room, eating while peeping at Suizi, Yu Jingting had a visceral disgust.
He also felt lucky that he didn’t let Suizi come along. Given her timid nature, she definitely would have been terrified.
"What’s that smell? It’s really fragrant," said the officer who accompanied Yu Jingting, as he sniffed the air.
Yu Jingting took a strong sniff himself. There was indeed a spicy aroma, like a type of marinated dish. Opening the pot, he found a cookpot full of spicy duck head.
It was still warm. They must have escaped before the duck was fully cooked.
"Looks quite delicious....I wonder what’s in it," the police officer salivated, the spicy duck heads in the grocery store didn’t smell as tempting.
Too bad the dish had to be taken back as evidence, or he really wouldn’t mind having a few bites.
Yu Jingting thought about the headless chicken that was tossed into his yard.
He felt a growing revulsion considering the possibility that one of those heads in the pot was chopped off from that chicken.
He promised himself in his heart, Fan Lili, that crazy woman, had best be caught by the police soon.
If he were to catch her first, he would knock out all her front teeth, so she could never eat spicy duck head anymore!
Suddenly, Yu Jingting noticed the dustbin.
Amongst tons of kitchen waste, an aluminum pouch caught his attention.
Yu Jingting asked for disposable gloves from the police, put them on, and took the pouch out of the dustbin.
It was an open packet of used condom and it was empty.
"Where’s the condom from the package?" Yu Jingting asked.
This was a significant piece of evidence and was taken back as well. Everyone began to look around the room, and finally found a used condom in the bedroom.
Judging by its freshness, it should not have been used too long ago.
Since the owner of the house left a week ago, it couldn’t possibly have been left by him.
"She must have an accomplice," Yu Jingting declared confidently.
"Whether she has an accomplice requires further investigation," the police officer responded.
There’s also the possibility that Fan Lili simply picked up a random person from the street.
It made sense, as she had just escaped from the mental hospital and has lost all her connections here. It was unlikely that she found an accomplice in such a short time.
"The poor owner really has the worst luck, to have been targeted by such a lunatic," the police officer sympathetically commented, "It’s fortunate that he met a good Samaritan like you who is willing to pay for the re painting of the wall."
Yu Jingting, of course, wasn’t any sort of good Samaritan. He simply wanted to prevent Suizi from feeling disgusted.
After all the evidence had been collected and the painter he paid extra for arrived, he watched as the wall was restored to its former state before he went home with peace of mind.
It was daylight when he set off and evening by the time he returned. Suizi was sitting in the courtyard, and rushed at him as soon as she saw him.
"Jingting, I’m scared..."
"It’s okay, I’m here," Yu Jingting comforted, patting her.
Suizi sent the children to her mother’s house, she dared not enter the house and sat in the courtyard like a frightened little rabbit.
"I saw the photos, it was terrifying, it was all blood."
"Damn it! I repeatedly warned everyone not to show you, who was the asshole who showed you the photos? Wait, that’s wrong..."
Upon finishing his curse, Yu Jingting realized something was amiss.
The photos couldn’t have been developed that quickly. What photo did she see?
Suizi retrieved a photo from beneath the chessboard. She was too frightened to look at it a second time.
Yu Jingting flipped it over and saw the white wall splashed with bloody characters:
Chen Hansui, I’m gonna fuck you!
"Who the hell is playing such a sick joke? They can’t even spell the name correctly. They even included the pinyin, what the hell!"
"It’s not a joke, Zhao Gong escaped."
Zhao Gong was the perpetrator of the previous "lip bead serial case."
Just as Yu Jingting was busy painting over the blood messages left by Fan Lili, another group of police officers arrived, and solemnly informed Suizi about this.
"He suddenly had a seizure in the detention center, and after being sent to the hospital, he injured the colleague who was tasked with guarding him and escaped. He bit his finger and wrote a bloody message on the wall."
He couldn’t even spell properly despite using just a few words.
The handwriting was so terrible, it was worse than a primary school student’s. Suizi might have mocked his lack of education if it wasn’t for the fact that he was a murderer.
But just thinking about that heinous outlaw sends chills down her spine. She constantly felt like she was being watched at home. She didn’t want to show weakness in front of the children, so she could only sit in the courtyard, waiting for him to return.
"These damned people, getting a kick out of writing bloody messages? They’re all going nuts... Is the mental hospital’s security so lax that all the sick people decided to escape on the same day? Is writing bloody messages now another diagnostic criterion for insanity?!"
Yu Jingting cursed under his breath, but his hand was very gently patting Suizi. As long as he was there, no lunatics could harm even a single hair of his wife.
"I keep feeling that the one who buried the gun might be one of them. Could he be targeting me?" Suizi was now like a frightened bird.
She could handle each of these incidents individually, but when put together, it felt like her brain was overloaded and filled with inexplicable fear.
"Don’t worry, these days, I won’t leave your side for a single moment, and no one can snatch you from my hands."
"No!" Suizi pushed him away, "You should go to the South. Aren’t we setting up a trading company there? You need to go check the place out, don’t let your business be delayed because of me."
"What are you talking about?" Yu Jingting pulled her back forcefully, and held her tightly in his arms, ignoring her struggle.
"Didn’t we agree on this long ago? I let Old Liu and the others go there to keep an eye on things, while I stay here and work."
"Just go, I’ll be okay. Or you could bring the kids along too. They’ve never been to the south. It’s their holiday now, so it can be seen as a trip for them too--"
"Chen Hansui, can you look me in the eye when you spout nonsense?" Yu Jingting held her chin, and as he expected her eyes were full of tears.
She was terrified and still trying to push him away.
"You plan to fight two lunatics alone? Remember this, I will not leave my woman in danger, unless I’m dead--"
"No! I forbid you to say such things!" Suizi quickly covered his mouth.
He had spoken aloud her deepest fear.
