I Am Also An Extraordinary Creature

Chapter 95: Chapter 93: Full-level Experience Card_1

Late at night, a faint luminescence flickered uncertainly in the darkness; Zheng Yichen reeled in his fishing rod, glanced at the empty hook, shook his head, and sighed—it was empty again.

He had hoped to fish something out from the circle formed by the black mist; after all, in Katrina’s world there were Hell and the Headless Knight—the Knight had escaped from Hell, so perhaps he could fish something out of this circle too?

Alas, several casts yielded no results.

After some thought, Zheng Yichen put a piece of candy on the hook and cast it back into the "Gate of Death." After staring for nearly ten minutes, the rod still showed no response. He looked at the pitch-black candy, the corner of his mouth twitching involuntarily, and then packed the thing back into a box.

"Sleep!"

When Zheng Yichen, the would-be fisherman, ceased this fruitless endeavor, maintaining the Gate of Death did not require much effort, probably because the energy level of this world was quite high. But if he kept fishing with no results, it would be a pure waste of his Life Force.

The next day, Zheng Yichen woke up and observed several wolves moving in the distance. Such creatures were common in the post-apocalyptic world, their range no longer resembling that of normal wolves. Seeing that Zheng Yichen had awakened, they kept their distance, but did not approach rashly.

"Quite smart." Zheng Yichen packed up his belongings and rode his bike towards the anomaly.

The anomaly, apart from being mobile, appeared no different from those Zheng Yichen had encountered before—a behemoth "creature" could be seen churning within the mist.

"I wonder if I can enter another world through this anomaly." Zheng Yichen surveyed the surrounding mist, parked his bike nearby, and then stepped into the anomaly—facing it sooner or later was inevitable, with no room for hesitation.

Upon entering the anomaly, he immediately felt a mild pressure, which should only be present near the center of the anomaly. Yet it appeared right upon entry—how severe would the pressure be near its center?

Contemplating, he noticed the surroundings gradually changing. As he progressed, the environment transformed into something else—it felt like he had passed through the anomaly into another world. However, after quickly retreating a short distance, he found that this was not the case.

He was still in the apocalyptic world. The anomaly seemed to overlay another environment upon this one; here, he felt his strength increase dramatically!

"Tsk, tsk."

Zheng Yichen immediately got back on his bike and headed deeper into the anomaly. The anomaly was vast, and walking would waste too much time. Biking was quicker, and it would provide a faster getaway if he encountered danger.

The interior of the anomaly was severely fragmented; here could be seen half a building, while there lay a small lake, as if someone had heedlessly scattered a jumble of construction materials within a section of a building game.

In some places, collapses would occur, scattering various objects.

As he rode on, Zheng Yichen felt a pressure overhead and immediately sped up. A loud crash sounded behind him as a car slammed into the spot he had just vacated, its interior still holding a fresh corpse.

"What the hell..." Zheng Yichen dismounted to inspect the scene. The driver was dead beyond doubt. He searched the recently expedited delivery driver and found a wallet, checking the identification inside.

"Jiaoyang City..." Zheng Yichen searched for the city on his phone using the special map software implanted by the nun. He actually found a city with the same name, although it was at least three thousand kilometers away. Moreover, this being the post-apocalyptic world, how could there be such a new car?

A behemoth over ten meters tall arrived on the scene, its massive body disregarding the surrounding buildings, pushing aside any obstacles in its path, and its sinister eyes reflecting Zheng Yichen’s figure.

Without hesitation, Zheng Yichen abandoned his search of the corpse, mounted his bike, and fled. Behind him, the thunderous sounds of pursuit grew. Glancing back, he saw the T-rex-like behemoth holding the car, prying it open as if it were a tin can.

So this was really a delivery?

Upon seeing this, Zheng Yichen silently increased his speed.

"What’s going on? The anomaly is moving faster!" Liu Haipeng frantically observed the speeding anomaly. With the anomaly’s previous pace, they would have had a few months to prepare, but now its speed had increased so suddenly—a major crisis was imminent!

Indeed, they had found quite a few valuable things in the area the anomaly passed through, including some damaged vehicles. Although the vehicles were broken, some parts remained intact. Dismantling and repairing those parts could lead to assembling new vehicles.

What had been a joyous occasion was now turning sour!

"No, the trajectory of the anomaly has changed—if this continues, it might not hit our town," a woman from Liu Haipeng’s team said while peering through the binoculars. However, the swiftly moving anomaly soon returned to its original course.

A group of people fell silent.

"Let’s follow it for now," Liu Haipeng said helplessly. They didn’t need to go back and send a message anymore. The supernatural phenomenon wasn’t visible at a distance, but at this rate, it wouldn’t take many days before their town could see it.

Inside the phenomenon, Zheng Yichen was swinging his black spear, which blazed with ghostly green flames. A small amount of Life Force could evoke very powerful flames that, when thrown, came into contact with the behemoth, similar to a T-rex.

The behemoth’s skin showed significant burn marks. It roared in anger as Zheng Yichen’s surroundings changed chaotically like a kaleidoscope, resembling spatial distortion, but this distortion only affected the environment.

In such distortion, a large metal door suddenly appeared before him; if he wasn’t mistaken, it was a bank treasury door.

Zheng Yichen forcibly changed the direction of the train’s front he was pulling, kicking the heavy metal door and shifting it a distance, but the environmental distortion around him remained unchanged, and the items that appeared from it became more and more disordered, even including a life-sized figure that belonged to someone unknown.

Zheng Yichen caught the life-sized figure, examining it closely out of curiosity. The texture was delicate, and the quality of the clothes it wore was also very fine. He wondered how heartbroken the original owner would be, realizing that their "wife" had gone missing.

With a forceful toss, he sent the figure flying onto a street lamp that had descended from the sky at an angle and pierced the ground. The black spear shattered a flying toilet, and Zheng Yichen looked ahead at the increasingly serious distortion and stopped the vehicle.

Taking out a shortsword, his arm muscles swelled, and after throwing the shortsword, an explosive sound rang out in front of his hand.

The raging airflow swept away objects falling from the sky, and a piercing ’hissing’ roar sounded through the air.

The noise was so unsettling that Zheng Yichen couldn’t remain calm. The pursuing behemoth also roared angrily at the sound. The shortsword hit the behemoth’s neck, and a massive amount of blood spurted out.

A hole as big as a bucket had been punched through the behemoth’s neck.

But the strike didn’t penetrate the neck; instead, it got stuck inside.

Zheng Yichen exhaled. In this world, thanks to Environmental Adjustment, his strength had increased, something he found a bit difficult to adapt to... mainly because it was too strong. And this strength was further adjusted after entering this strange phenomenon.

It was as if he had used a full-level Experience Card.

He felt so powered up that Zheng Yichen wished to find a more challenging world and stay there forever!

The behemoth, wounded by the shortsword, let out a roar, its charge tearing up the ground. Zheng Yichen felt the brunt of the impact, as if hit by a hammer, retreated two steps back, and his bulletproof combat suit burst apart, its defense in this place proving to be even weaker than his own body.

Zheng Yichen himself was amazed; this full-level experience was way too good.

He stepped on the ground, which completely shattered, and his long spear, burning with ghostly green flames, struck the concrete. The flaming concrete chunks flew towards the behemoth like meteors, shattering on impact with minimal damage to the beast, but the flames caused it pain.

Leaving behind a trail of shattered stones from the impact, Zheng Yichen moved swiftly, in a blink, reaching the side of the behemoth’s foot. His black spear, like a bolt of lightning, stabbed into the beast’s dorsal fin.

An intense delay made him aware of the behemoth’s extraordinary defense. As it lifted its foot in response to the attack, Zheng Yichen was sent flying by the huge impact, uncontrollably crashing through obstacles scattered on the ground until he finally stopped upon hitting a lamppost.

The lamppost behind him was severely deformed, bearing the silhouette from his collision. Objects hanging from the vibrating lamppost also fell.

It was the same life-sized figure.

Red spots had appeared on the white school uniform the figure wore. Zheng Yichen blinked uncomfortably; blood had dripped into his eyes. He wiped his face with the sleeve of the figure’s clothing, cleaning the blood from his forehead. The wound on his forehead slowly healed itself.

"Thanks," Zheng Yichen said as he propped the figure against the lamppost that bore his silhouette, swiftly leaving the scene. The behemoth was already on his pursuit, the wound on his foot not bleeding much, only blackened by the burn, while the neck wound still oozed blood.

But to the behemoth, neither wound was serious, hardly affecting its combat abilities.

Zheng Yichen tore off the now-useless bulletproof combat suit, planning to find an opportunity to cut into the creature’s nape.
