Chapter 1102: Chapter 801 The Beginning of the Targeting

"The third one. They’re getting harder and harder to kill." Zheng Yichen stretched his neck, and the small wounds on his body rapidly healed. Tanshia Firlo lay sprawled out on the ground in an extremely unladylike manner, looking utterly lazy.

She was exhausted.

The Divine Realm was vast, but news traveled quickly. After the second True God fell, the third one became much more cunning, setting up traps in advance. The moment Zheng Yichen arrived, the True God struck hard.

Two of his life points were knocked off on the spot—essentially two health bars. Starting with the second True God, these deities underwent some transformations, gaining an intangible advantage of time and place.

Lilith analyzed the environment. This wasn’t an illusion but the result of external forces interfering. Unfavorable factors were starting to converge on Zheng Yichen.

In the Virtual World, many of Zheng Yichen’s abilities weren’t synced here. For example, the Catastrophe Curse. If that curse had manifested here, just that ambush alone would have allowed Zheng Yichen to ignore the unfavorable factors and swiftly kill the opponent.

The divine power penetration attached to his independent divinity, coupled with the curse’s backlash that amplifies damage to enemies, creates explosive attacks. How could any god withstand that? But the emergence of unfavorable factors indicated that the Boundary Breakers were beginning to act.

"BOSS, the permissions I’ve acquired are sufficient now," Lilith slowly opened her eyes, lifting her small hand to reveal a familiar-looking seed to Zheng Yichen.

He took the seed and tossed it lightly in his hand. "How do I use this?"

"Merge it with the weapon you’re using in the Virtual World."

He pressed the seed onto the long spear he currently wielded. The seed immediately underwent a transformation—tender shoots wound around and enveloped the spear, causing the weapon to change.

Its original name became blurred, followed by gibberish appearing, which, under Lilith’s adjustments, finally became "World Tree."

"Not bad. Next, we’ll search for more gods." Zheng Yichen tested the weapon in his hand, finding that its feel hadn’t changed at all. The transformed weapon would now allow him to release his Divine Domain.

Coupled with the accumulated God-slaying power, he no longer needed to target the weaker gods. Lilith had consumed three godheads from the Virtual World. To further advance her permissions, aside from more accumulation, the fastest way was to seek out stronger gods.

The commotion he had created here was enough for any Boundary Breaker with even marginal intelligence to notice. Lilith’s disguise wasn’t infallible.

As long as her permissions couldn’t touch the Virtual World’s core, her disguise would have weaknesses.

"Are we heading out now?" The ever-lazy Tanshia Firlo immediately jumped to her feet. She had already reached max level but didn’t feel much sense of accomplishment after doing so.

"Let’s go!"

"Hmm... where’s my protective sphere?" Tanshia Firlo glanced enviously at the World Tree in Zheng Yichen’s hands. She missed her protective sphere. Transforming into her dragon form now, her body would be riddled with scars.

The damage left behind by a Death-type True God was troublesome even after death.

"My current permissions aren’t sufficient to manifest the protective sphere in the Virtual World," Lilith shook her head.

The World Tree could be drawn into the Virtual World because of the strengthening Zheng Yichen had done for her, which established a more direct link with the fishing rod. Maintaining that connection allowed the World Tree to manifest.

Tanshia Firlo’s protective sphere, however, had no such connection with Lilith, making it much harder to manifest. Higher permissions might make it possible, but for now, it was beyond their reach.

"I see..." Tanshia Firlo looked disappointed but quickly perked up. "Alright, I’m rested up. Let’s head out now."

"For the next fight, you can just watch. I’ll give you an impressive show." Swinging the long spear, Zheng Yichen spun it with a flourish.

The next target was still in the Evil Faction, but not another Death-type god—instead, it was an incredibly dangerous Evil God. This type of god was avoided by both the Good and Evil Factions alike.

Zheng Yichen didn’t want to provoke hostility or face a siege from countless gods, so choosing such a True God as a target was the best option.

Inside the Virtual World’s conference room, the Boundary Breakers, who had lamented their inability to relax after decades of effort, no longer entertained such thoughts. Their expressions were grave. As time passed, more and more Boundary Breakers gathered in the room.

Once everyone assembled, there was no need for shift rotations anymore—it had barely been over a month. It was better for all of them to stay awake now.

Having everyone present would also make reacting to unexpected situations easier.

"It’s confirmed. He’s a Proxy Agent, and it’s the same one headquarters previously issued a warning about." Images of Zheng Yichen, with a face unfamiliar to most, appeared in the conference room.

However, after further processing, the photographs rapidly morphed, revealing Zheng Yichen’s original appearance.

"The Blood Extractor?!" Seeing the figure in the photos, the Boundary Breakers felt even more alarmed. Before the Great World lost contact, updates on the Blood Extractor came in most frequently. He had clearly become one of the Great World’s greatest threats.

He was also the kind of enemy the Boundary Breakers most dreaded encountering, and now he had shown up here.

"...What should we do?"

"What else can we do? The Virtual World is our home turf—we kill him!"

Another Boundary Breaker responded decisively, "This world is inherently ordinary. Its only uniqueness lies in the Virtual World."

"Exactly. This is a rare opportunity for us. In the Virtual World, we possess higher permissions, and in reality, we wield significant influence. Using both approaches, we’ll completely eliminate this Proxy Agent!"

Thinking of their localized advantages, the Boundary Breakers’ spirits lifted slightly. If this were a high-level environment, the Proxy Agent might be able to crush them single-handedly. But in such a mundane world, what could he achieve?

Advanced technology? They had that too. Not only that, but they also had the advantage of numbers. In the Virtual World, they could suppress him with high-level permissions, while in reality, they could gather armed forces to capture the Proxy Agent directly.

"When we locate him, don’t kill him immediately. Save him for the final moment before striking."

"Heh, your mobilization was too slow. While you were gathering, I already sent people to track his location."

Another Boundary Breaker chimed in:

"So, did you find him?"

"...No. He has hidden his tracks extremely well, even disguising the port through which he entered the Virtual World. He must have a skilled hacker or an advanced AI assisting him."

"That’s no different from doing nothing."

"Shut up. At least I didn’t waste time. Tracking him down won’t be easy, but we can start our investigation near the Dusk Territory."

The Proxy Agent inevitably had to pass through the Dusk. This world’s surveillance systems were comprehensive. Investigating around that area should yield some useful clues.

They could then hand over the task to local experts. If it involved the Virtual World’s safety, those professionals would undoubtedly give it their all.

Meanwhile, the Boundary Breakers would focus on suppressing him within the Virtual World. Although they couldn’t fully control the True Gods, they could influence their decisions.

Unfortunately, there was a limit to their interference. The True Gods were entities with ’permissions’ of their own. While their permissions functioned differently, until the core permissions of the Virtual World were secured,

the Boundary Breakers could only indirectly interfere with these entities. Direct interference was impossible. Otherwise, someone would’ve already tested what it was like to seduce the Virtual World’s Goddess.

At most, their permissions allowed them to create puppet replicas—aesthetic and intelligent but far from the real thing.

For now, Zheng Yichen primarily targeted Evil-type True Gods. As a result, the Good Faction’s True Gods bore no animosity toward him, despite his Godslayer trait.

However, this lack of hostility was temporary. If Zheng Yichen continued hunting True Gods, even those of the Good Faction would grow uneasy. By manipulating permissions, this unease could be magnified.

Soon, all factions would oppose Zheng Yichen. If he chose to become a god in the moment... well, that would actually make things easier, as it would bind the Proxy Agent more directly to the Virtual World’s core hierarchy.

That would leave no chance of damaging the Boundary Breaking core.

In such a scenario, even if Zheng Yichen managed to access the Boundary Breaking core, he’d find it nearly impossible to affect it. The best outcome would be pushing him to act in reality.

That way, his location could be determined, and he could be permanently eliminated. Even if he had respawn abilities, killing him once would still be a significant victory.

Of course, as Zheng Yichen continued slaying gods, they would impose additional interferences, making environmental factors more favorable to his enemies.

They’d also apply other indirect measures, such as removing the Virtual World’s psychological safeguards for players. If Zheng Yichen were killed, the mental trauma of dying would strike him directly on a spiritual level.

Yet even in such adverse conditions, Zheng Yichen had eliminated the second and third True Gods. Though they weren’t particularly powerful deities, his prowess was undeniably terrifying.

The Boundary Breakers, with permissions between those of mid-rank and high-rank gods in the Virtual World, found this unsettling.

In the Virtual World, high-rank gods were akin to the world itself, essentially fragments of the Virtual World’s independent will, capable of merging back into the world if necessary.

Such beings could not be killed.

Boundary Breakers couldn’t become entities like high-rank gods. Non-native high-rank gods could influence the Virtual World’s core permissions directly, essentially gaining authority over its foundational functions.

Yet the Virtual World’s base logic was "World Creation." Any force tampering with that would be isolated.

Since Boundary Breakers inherently acted as disrupting forces, they could only attain permissions between mid-rank and high-rank gods.

Combat strength within this range fluctuated significantly. Some Boundary Breakers couldn’t even defeat mid-rank gods. However, thanks to their unique permissions, no faction of gods dared interfere with their actions—provided they didn’t overreach.
