Hunter of the Evernight -
Chapter 683: Trapped
Chapter 683: Trapped
Faced with impending doom, The Fixer didn’t hesitate to act, ignoring everything around him to cause enough damage to the submarine, causing it to rapidly plummet.
Ulysses didn’t even get a chance to stabilize himself as he was sent flying, his head slamming into the hull, causing him to curse out in pain.
Elena wasn’t as affected as she only stepped out of the portal she’d made after the submarine stopped dropping.
Though risky, The Fixer’s actions ended up saving the submarine from being impaled as the pyramid rushed past where it had previously been floating.
Of course, he understood that the danger wasn’t dealt with just yet as the pyramid, spinning like a drill, drew an arc in the air before once again shooting toward the submarine.
The Fixer continued to push the submarine down, heading toward the fog-covered area below.
In truth, he knew that the area below the fog was extremely dangerous, after all, that was where the Goddess’s expedition had met its end, destroyed by unknown forces.
But faced with the approaching pyramid, he had no choice.
The submarine in its current state couldn’t move sideways, nor could it move upward, as it hadn’t been fixed yet.
What he was doing was exacerbating the damage it suffered to ensure it plummeted rapidly.
"What the hell is happening?" Elena asked only to feel a great sense of danger. "And why are we heading towards the fog!?"
"We are being chased by an Otherworldly." Came the response from Ulysses who was trying to stand on his feet.
"And the best way to do so is going beyond the fog?"
"We don’t have any other options!"
"Like hell, we don’t," Elena remarked as she crouched down and placed both palms on the brass floor.
The next instant, she channeled her connection with Ashtyx, taking on the role of its Proxy, allowing her to teleport the entire submarine.
At the same time, the pyramid slashed through where the submarine once was before quickly drawing an arc in the air once again.
It turned left, then right, before ultimately returning to the Corroded Queen who let out a loud creaking sound before taking its leave.

Archibald expected help from Victoria once he’d noticed that she had dealt with the barbarians chasing her, so imagine his surprise when instead of helping, she watched him for a few seconds before heading over to assist Alex instead.
"Dog shit!" He cursed loudly as he realized that she had no plans of helping him out.
If not that his twenty-five days weren’t up yet, Archibald could have been able to at least put up a fight.
Unlike most barbarians he was familiar with, these ones had very little Quillion on them.
Apart from their weapons and their bracelets, they were completely open to being assaulted by the supernatural which was rather odd.
Archibald guessed that it might have something to do with why their shaman had turned into a ten-foot-tall monster with raglike skin and a lot of other disturbing features.
Regardless, this wasn’t the time to allow his curious mind to wander, as he needed to save himself first.
With no other choice, he opted to keep on running but this time, with a destination in mind.
He quickly dodged the ranged attack of one of his pursuants before making his way toward Alex’s battleground.

The battle with Vok appeared simple and rather straightforward forward, which was something Alex hadn’t expected given his experiences thus far.
However, it quickly became clear that though simple, it did not make it any less difficult.
He could damage the insane shaman as much as he wanted but that was not the same as killing him.
Vok’s regeneration was almost on par with Ulysses and his resilience was at a whole other level.
If it came down to a battle of attrition, Alex guessed that he would lose badly.
But then, how exactly was he to kill Vok?
With no other choice, he decided to brute force his way through things.
Hit him hard, hit him fast, hit him until he drops!
Alex snapped so many times his fingers began to hurt, but that didn’t stop him as he dropped one hand and used the other.
Every single offensive ability he had, he made use of in that moment, resulting in a cacophonous display of pure power that left one dazed just by looking at it.
Just as he grew weary, a series of cannon shots were heard, reminding Alex that the mobile city was still around.
At the same time, more barbarians poured out, riding their mounts while brandishing their weapons.
Alex tried to snap, but then a finger cramp occurred, and for a moment, he was left defenseless.
The next instant, a thread wrapped around him and dragged him away from the danger zone.
Victoria caught Alex and helped him to his feet while keeping her eyes on the fireballs aimed at Alex.
They slammed into his previous position en masse, increasing the dust cloud that had covered the area as a result of Alex’s multiple attacks.
"Is it dead?" Victoria asked with Alex shaking his head.
"I have no idea."
Just then, they felt something, causing them to glance back just in time to lay eyes on an approaching Archibald.
"You bastards!... How dare you abandon me?"
Behind, barbarians gave chase.
Alex tried to snap again but then the cramp prevented him from doing so.
With no other choice, Victoria grabbed hold of Archibald once he was close and chanted.
Open Sesame.
All three immediately fell into the Spirit World.
However, it wasn’t the familiar fog region that they fell into.
Instead, it was the bogs, and in the bogs, Decad was king.
I have been waiting for you.
A voice that sounded like metal scratching against metal was heard after which the trio felt a burning sensation, like they were being doused by acid.
Decad was close.
"Get us out of here now!" Alex exclaimed, with Victoria immediately doing so, only for nothing to happen.
"We are trapped."
