Chapter 203: I hate you, Arwen Hallewell
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed in the sewers with heavy breathing accompanying it.
As rats scurried about in the dark place, Claudia soon emerged from a corner with three people floating behind her.
Claudia kept running for a bit longer before finally deciding to come to a stop once she ensured that there was no danger.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she slowly let down the unmoving bodies of her companions before placing her back against the wall.
"Damn it... damn it all." Muttering softly, she slid her back against the wall before dropping on her buttocks.
Placing her face between her knees, a silent sob soon echoed in the sewers.
It took almost five minutes for her to regain herself as she slowly raised her head and cleaned her teary eyes.
Sniffling softly, she rose to her feet and stretched a hand toward the unconscious trio she was with.
She closed her eyes and exerted her will on the world.
A ripple occured in the aether after which a sudden gasp broke the silence.
She opened her eyes to find that Roland had woken up with Arwen and Nadia slowly opening their eyes.
"What happened?" Roland asked with a frown.
Claudia replied. "Ada saved us."
"Ada..." Muttering softly, Roland pursed his lips before slowly picking himself up from the ground.
Meanwhile, Nadia and Arwen soon woke up fully as well but judging from their complexions, they were still in terrible states.
"... How long has it been?" Arwen asked while massaging her temples.
"Roughly 20 minutes," Claudia answered.
Nodding imperceptibly, Arwen tried to get to her feet but quickly fell back on her butt.
"Ugh."
"You shouldn’t overwork yourself. You have done enough." Claudia remarked as she moved to Arwen’s side. "Let Elizabeth and Kane handle the rest."
Arwen shook her head. "We aren’t done yet."
"What... what are you talking about?"
"There’s still one part of the plan. I have to get to Kane before it’s too late."
"What are you talking about?... The plan ends here. We can’t do anything else... right?" Claudia intoned loudly.
Arwen turned to face her but made no attempts to speak, allowing for a silent exchange between the two.
It took almost a minute before Claudia broke away, a complicated expression etched on her visage.
"...No."
"Claudia..."
"You can’t keep doing this!... Throwing yourself toward death. The PaleLands is a myth, a fairytale that doesn’t exist!" Claudia berated as she rose to her feet. "I won’t let you go. Damn everything, but there’s no way I’m losing you as well."
"Claudia..."
"I’m not hearing it..."
"Claudia!"
"..."
"It’s not about the PaleLands anymore."
"... Is that so?"
"We don’t have time," said Arwen before adding softly. "Please... if we don’t hurry, everything will be for naught."
"... I hate you, Arwen Hallewell."
"I’m sorry."
Closing her eyes, Claudia restrained the tears welling up in them.
She took a deep breath and a moment later, opened her eyes.
Exchanging looks with Arwen, Claudia grabbed her and placed her over her shoulders.
"I’m coming with you."
".... Alright."
"Let’s go."
With that, Claudia rushed down the road ahead despite the terrible fatigue plaguing her mind.
Meanwhile, Roland was unsure of what to make of the situation only to sense something causing him to glance at Nadia who had been silent so far.
"What are you..."
"Shhh." At some point, her eyes had turned completely white and her voice sounded even more domineering than usual. "There’s much to be done."
Sizing Roland up for a moment, she added in a somewhat lazy tone. "Come, you will be a good servant boy."
Blinking confusedly, Roland remained silent.

Boom
The entirety of the underground sacrificial altar erupted in white light before it began to rapidly collapse.
By the time the light died down, all that was left was dust and a crimson barrier.
Alex stood in place with Elizabeth standing beside him, her expression one of pure shock at the terrifying nature of the white hole.
Of course, Alex was more bothered by the fact that Damian was able to block the attack.
Just then, the crimson barrier receded to reveal Damian and before him, a headless creature with blood-red skin and strange faces twisted in hatred etched on its body.
"Evil god..." Elizabeth muttered under her breath upon setting sights on the monstrosity.
Alex raised a brow. "So that’s what they look like."
He could sense an endless amount of bloodlust and malice from the so-called evil god.
"You are a truly powerful man, Alex. But you can’t stop this." Damian remarked with a look of triumph.
Alex chuckled. "Is that so?... One portion of the ritual may be complete but I dare say not much can be done if the other two are stopped, no?"
"..." Damian furrowed his brows before ultimately letting out a wistful sigh. "Let the ritual continue!"
At the same time, the headless monstrosity suddenly began to let out baleful cries, assaulting Alex’s ears while leaving Elizabeth slightly uncomfortable.
Clicking her tongue, she charged forward as her ebony blade glowed with silver light.
Taking a few steps, she closed the gap and swung her blade but before she could strike the monster, several blood pillars erupted from the ground, sending her flying back.

Black and white pulsating light appeared beside the creature but before Alex could hit it, it suddenly fell apart with 11 headless ghosts erupting from its carcass.
A sense of unease gnawed silently at Alex’s heart at that moment as he tried to go after them.
However, before he could take a step, a voice was heard.
"Open sesame."
Immediately after, a portal appeared before Alex after which a three-headed silver tiger with a mace for a tail leaped out with its jaws open, ready to bite off Alex’s neck.
Pa
With the appearance of several tendrils to grab its ankles, yet another snap was heard after which black and white wolves erupted from Alex’s shadow to rip apart the unfortunate Spirit Beast.
At the same time, Alex turned his attention toward the origin of the current situation only to find a familiar figure standing a few meters away.
Despite being zombified, the vampire seemed to hold some semblance of thought, his gaze seemingly pleading for Alex to put it out of its misery.
Adhering to his wish, Alex snapped while pointing his fingers at the zombie.
It was as silent as could be and a moment later, a dull thud resounded.
