Chapter 91

A figure blocked the path of Chloe Collins and her companions.

Raine Nolan pursed her lips, glanced at Diego Willis and Robert Foster, "I want to have a word with my cousin alone."

Robert was about to leave, so he didn’t say anything and walked towards the Foster’s car instead.

Diego scratched his head and said, "Then, I’ll go reserve our seats first."

With that, he ran into the restaurant.

Raine saw Diego’s figure out of the corner of her eye, "Cousin, are you really with him now?"

Chloe Collins’ face was expressionless, "Get to the point."

"Well... Dad’s over there, he wants you to join us for a meal."

"I’m not going."

Leaving this sentence, Chloe Collins left.

Raine didn’t stop her, biting her lip and giving a shallow, satisfied smile.

After a while, she returned to the car.

Back inside the car, Raine had already seen Tristan Collins’ gloomy face, so she knew he must be aware of the outcome.

"Dad, cousin won’t come. She... seems to have made plans with her boyfriend..."

"Boyfriend? What boyfriend?" Rosalind Taylor feigned surprise.

Tristan Collins’ eyes revealed a trace of astonishment.

"It’s Diego Willis of the Willises. They seem to have been together since yesterday."

Rosalind Taylor clung to her husband’s arm: "Honey, should we try to persuade Chlo-Chlo? Why does she never learn?"

Tristan Collins seemed to be weighing something. His serious gaze hinted at a few thoughts, but there were no signs of anger.

Two seconds later, he finally responded, his voice deep and muffled, "Has her academic performance improved lately?"

Raine hesitated for a moment and replied, "I’m not quite sure, but today, sis participated in a forum’s top post, and everyone seemed to have some misunderstandings about her."

"What post? Let me see." Rosalind Taylor reached out to take the phone.

She opened the post and moved it to her husband’s view, the two of them looked at it together.

The post detailed several of Chloe Collins’ "crimes", arguing that she was unfit for the key class position, and protesting the school’s favoritism.

Another focus of the discussion was digging into Chloe’s background, yet surprisingly, nothing significant was uncovered.

"Honey, Chlo-Chlo is never interested in studying. Why did the school suddenly decide to move her to the key class?"

Tristan just asked, "Last time, you mentioned what her exam results were?"

"Oh, it seems that she barely passed Language and English, missed Math by ten points, Integrated Sciences trailed by a bit, she only scored less than a third in Physics, Chemistry was even worse, Biology was a little better, but still didn’t pass. However, after all, this is a regular high school exam, which is incomparable to Affiliated High School, so I don’t think we can tell anything from it..."

Tristan’s eyebrows knitted, "Such lousy results, she’s really losing face for me."

He took a deep breath and asked Raine, "What about her daily homework?"

Raine carefully responded, "I don’t know, cousin is usually very cold and doesn’t walk with me."

"If she doesn’t walk with you, then go find her; she is the older sister, and you’re the younger."

Tristan’s voice suddenly carried a hint of displeasure.

This caught Rosalind and Raine off guard.

"Honey, you’re blaming Raine wrongly, she really cares about Chlo-Chlo, but Chlo-Chlo just likes to be alone; there’s nothing we can do."

Tristan softened his cold demeanor slightly and instructed Raine, "Your Math, Physics, and Chemistry are good. Find some time to teach her and help her improve her grades above the passing line."

Raine hesitated, "But... the monthly exam is tomorrow..."

Tristan waved his hand, "Never mind, you still have a competition to prepare for. In that case, Rosalind, you’ll find a tutor for that girl so her grades can become presentable this semester."

Rosalind knew her husband valued his reputation and, although she wasn’t too eager, she still nodded.

Raine said softly, "Dad, what about... cous-sis’s puppy love..."

"Let them be." Tristan squinted his eyes, seemingly deep in thought.

Rosalind’s eyes darted around as if she suddenly realized something and was taken aback.
