Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Be Careful on the Road
There were two note-filled pages inserted into the math textbook, each marking the corresponding page number, question, or knowledge point.
"Wow, Chloe, your notes are so clear and concise, much better than the teacher’s explanation."
"I thought you didn’t take notes. I didn’t expect you were secretly working hard behind our backs."
"It’s not my writing."
"Ah, who’s then?"
Chloe Collins glanced over, "Just focus on your own."
"Oh..."
Diego Willis had been reviewing for the past few days and was quite familiar with the content, so he quickly started tutoring Layla Lowell.
As Layla listened and took notes, she would glare at him if he spoke too fast, "Speak slower."
Diego glanced at her notes and laughed, "Your handwriting is really ugly."
Layla gripped the pen tightly, "Say that again."
Diego raised an eyebrow, remained silent, and continued speaking while leaning back in his chair.
Like this, he finished the math, then went over languages, and English...
Chloe had already finished highlighting the main points and taking notes early on, so she just read comics on the couch while they were teaching.
They ordered takeout in the meantime, eating and tutoring, and Chloe continued reading her comics.
Three hours later, it was already past midnight.
Diego’s mouth was dry, and he didn’t want to say another word.
Layla closed the physics book, "That’s it, I’m all caught up. Thanks, Chloe."
Diego was shocked, pointing to himself, "What about me?"
His voice was already completely hoarse.
Layla threw a bottle of water to him without saying anything.
At this time, Chloe finished the latest Chapter and finally got up.
"Tomorrow you two can continue reviewing the notes from tonight. I’ll head back first."
"I’m going too!" Diego said hoarsely, running after her.
"Hey."
Chloe looked back indifferently, seeing Layla’s uneasy face. She hesitated for a moment and said, "Be... Careful on your way."
Chloe had no expression, just nodded her head, and left.
When they got to the parking lot, Chloe was about to take her mountain bike when Diego stopped her, "Let me give you a ride."
Chloe had brought the mountain bike so she wouldn’t have to rely on his car, so she refused outright.
However, Diego stubbornly pressed on, "I’ll still follow you in the car until I see you get inside. I’ve heard from Raine about your situation with the Fosters kicking you out. I don’t feel comfortable letting you go back alone."
Chloe looked at him, as if observing a pure little animal, amused. In the end, she didn’t refuse, "Fine."
Diego was happy and immediately opened the door for her.
The car drove steadily, and Chloe closed her eyes to rest.
Approximately twenty-eight minutes later, the car stopped.
Chloe opened her eyes just in time to see Diego get out of the car to open the door for her.
She took the mountain bike, pushed it, and walked toward the Feng Mansion.
"Good night!" Diego shouted at her loudly.
She didn’t look back, just casually waved her hand.
Back in the east wing, she parked her mountain bike and went to the next room.
In the main building, only Robert Foster’s room still had lights on.
She leisurely walked into the courtyard next door, instinctively looking up at the second floor, which was dark.
He should be asleep by now, right?
She thought.
It was close to one in the morning; most people their age were already asleep.
As soon as she entered, she stopped in her tracks.
Alexander Foster’s scent was intense on the first floor.
Only the warm orange entryway light was on, its soft, warm hue adding a few touches of night’s silence and mystery.
