His Wife Calls The Shots -
Chapter 82: Sister’s Got Your Back
Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Sister’s Got Your Back
Chapter 82
Chloe glanced at him, the corner of her mouth curling up slightly.
A teasing and triumphant look flashed in her eyes.
Having grown accustomed to his cold indifference, seeing him looking so flustered was quite amusing.
Suddenly, someone poked her hand.
She turned her head and saw Robert’s enlarged face.
Robert leaned in close: "Call me brother too, and I’ll cover you when we go to school."
Without waiting for Chloe’s response, Evelyn said, "Don’t even think about it. Chlo-Chlo is a year older than you, so you should call her sister."
"Ah? She’s a year older? Then how come we’re in the same grade?"
Chloe casually replied, "I started school late."
She had almost not been able to start school.
Robert put down his chopsticks, looking shocked and upset, "So in this family, I’m the youngest?"
Chloe revealed a gentle, elder-sister-like smile and patted the back of his head, "Behave, and I’ll cover you."
Robert felt insulted, and the insult seemed to grow heavier with Chloe’s touch.
Alexander frowned, his gaze lingering on the back of Robert’s head for a few extra seconds.
After dinner.
Chloe went for a walk outside while checking her phone.
The class group chat was discussing the upcoming monthly exam.
After this exam, classes would be rearranged based on student rankings, hence the heightened debate.
Chloe had also been tagged in the conversation.
[@Chloe Collins: The door to the Dreamers class is wide open for us.]
A few others who were tagged were talking about giving up on studying.
The students who usually performed well hadn’t spoken up.
These students had already surpassed many in the key class and were almost guaranteed a spot in the next Dreamers class.
Affiliated High School used this competitive system to motivate its students, ensuring they never slacked off.
Because once they let their guard down, someone else might step on them.
The more heated the discussion became, the quieter two people became – Chloe and Layla Lowell.
Of course, everyone had already assumed that they would be part of the new Dreamers class.
The next moment, Layla sent Chloe a message:
[Is there a way to get a good score?]
Chloe: "What do you want to score?"
[Just not to be in the Dreamers class. That’s my promise to my dad, but I’ve fallen behind in my studies these days, and the exam is in just one day.]
Chloe: "I’m going to the hospital tomorrow."
[Do you have a solution?]
Chloe: "Read."
[Come over tonight, then. Let’s save as much time as possible.]
Chloe thought it over and agreed.
Deciding to go back and change her clothes first, she suddenly felt a strong sensation and instinctively turned her head.
From far away, she saw Alexander standing at a fork in the road.
He held a Samoyed on a leash, facing in her direction, and then turned away.
He really enjoyed walking his dog.
Chloe averted her gaze and headed back.
After grabbing a few items and putting them in her backpack, she set off.
She was still riding her mountain bike, which was light and fast.
But as soon as she left the house, someone rushed out and stopped her.
"Chloe!"
She braked just in time, her eyebrows furrowing.
"Do you want to die?"
Diego Willis let go of her handlebars and shamefacedly scratched his head, "Sorry, I was just too anxious."
"Enough chattering, what do you want?" Chloe’s expression was cold.
"Nothing much, I just wanted to explain that I had no idea my parents would go to the school, and I never told them about the incident. It was probably Professor Grant who mentioned it. It wasn’t me."
"That’s it?"
Diego was surprised at Chloe’s indifference, as if she didn’t even remember the incident happening.
"Regardless, I want to apologize."
"Oh, get out of the way." Chloe waved her finger.
