A child around eight or nine years old was holding a toy longsword in one hand and hugging Alexander Foster’s thigh with the other, like an octopus that couldn’t be shaken off.

Alexander stood there coldly, his eyebrows and eyes drooping, as if giving a warning.

However, the brat wasn’t afraid of him at all, and instead tightened his legs around Alex’s legs: "I don’t care, if you don’t have a little competition with me today, I won’t let you chase my sister."

Alex narrowed his eyes, his voice slightly cold: "Who said I wanted to chase your sister?"

"Your mom said so. You even moved my sister’s room to your place, obviously wanting to take advantage of the close proximity. I saw through it all long ago!"

Alex slowly closed his eyes, an air of impatience emanating from him.

Children were the most troublesome.

He glanced at Ford behind him: "Aren’t you going to help?"

Ford was holding back a laugh, as he had never seen the normally calm and collected Young Master show such a helpless look. So he just laughed.

Hearing this, Ford quickly stepped forward to pull the little guy away.

Theodore Collins swung his toy sword back and forth a few times, "Don’t come over!"

Ford stopped, "Young Master, as you can see, I can’t do anything."

Alex frowned, looked down at the child who resembled Chloe Collins, and said, "Let go, I won’t chase your sister."

Theodore immediately asked, "Then why are you living with my sister?"

Alex: "Ask her yourself."

"So you mean my sister likes you?"

Theodore’s mind worked very fast.

Alex had no interest in discussing such matters with a child, as it was both childish and a waste of his time.

"My sister likes you? Why? I only see that you’re a little handsome, but I don’t see any other qualities that would make her like you."

Alex: "..."

Ford covered his mouth and laughed.

Suddenly, he looked up and saw Chloe Collins in the distance.

"Miss Collins is back."

Hearing the sound, Alex looked to the left.

Chloe Collins slowly approached, not saying a word.

Seeing her, Theodore instinctively let go of Alex and ran towards her.

"Sis! Where have you been? School’s been out for so long."

Chloe Collins didn’t respond.

"Sis, do you like him?"

Chloe Collins glanced at Alex with a faint look in her eyes.

Then, she looked away.

"I don’t like him."

Very straightforward.

As she spoke, she was already walking towards the house.

Alex stood there, his expression as calm as still water.

Ford coughed lightly, "Young Master, it seems you guessed wrong."

Alex’s face was cold, and he slowly replied, "Girls mostly say one thing but mean another."

Ford: "Well, you’re right."

Alex was a man who never doubted his judgment, both in business and in other aspects of life.

With the addition of Theodore, tonight’s dinner was especially lively.

As soon as dinner was over, Chloe Collins sent him away.

Theodore clung to her, "Sis, let me stay here too. I don’t want to go home and live with those two. They’re so hypocritical. They’re nice to me on the surface, but behind my back they tell the servants to make soup for me with almost expired pork, and they badmouth me in front of Dad."

Until this point, Chloe Collins had shown no expression.

Only after he finished speaking did her eyes show a slight ripple.

"Is what you’re saying true?"

"It’s true. I also heard them say that once my little brother is born, there’s no place for me in the family. They spoke in secret."

Chloe Collins stopped.

Theodore looked at her, expecting her to agree.

But he heard her say, "In this world, it’s survival of the fittest. If you don’t want to be someone else’s stepping stone, strive to be the strongest one."
