Chapter 266: Chapter 266: Do You Miss Her?
The gloom on his handsome face had dissipated quite a bit, and he slowly clicked in to take a look.
Among the comments, there was none from that adorable little rabbit with milk-like ferocity.
It’s just as well not to look.
"How’s everything at home recently?" he asked.
Upon hearing this, Ford chuckled and began reporting on the family’s situation.
First, he talked about Robert Foster’s three hundredth unsuccessful attempt to get William Foster to buy a car and instead being forced to study. Then, he mentioned how delicious Evelyn Thompson’s new dishes were.
Alex furrowed his brows: "Get to the point."
"The point?"
Ford was slightly taken aback, but burst into hearty laughter two seconds later: "Oh, Miss Chloe Collins! She’s doing quite well, eating, sleeping, and attending school on time. Nothing out of the ordinary."
"It’s just that she goes to bed very late every day, but has to get up early to go to school the next day. Lack of sleep probably affects her studies to some extent."
Alex pondered upon hearing this.

At 10:30 at night, Alex stood at the East Wing Gate, holding a leash with a sleepy-eyed Samoyed, walking back and forth.
At first, the Samoyed lazily cooperated with him, strolling around. But after about half an hour, the little one couldn’t hold up and chose to lie down on the ground, letting Alex drag him around, displaying a fearless attitude as if he didn’t care about what was going on.
Alex occasionally glanced at his WeChat Moments, and there were still some new comments, just none from that adorable little rabbit with milk-like ferocity.
He put his phone back in his pocket and leaned against the wall in silence, waiting.
The night was deep and quiet, almost everyone was asleep. He leaned against the cold wall as the night breeze gently chilled his face.
As he waited for a long time, his eyelids subconsciously drooped, and he entered a semi-conscious state.
In the night, the moonlight stretched his tall shadow, which slowly shifted its angle as time elapsed.
At half-past one in the morning, his phone in hand vibrated, rousing him from his shallow slumber.
He slowly lifted his eyes and realized that he had been standing in this position for a long time. The night breeze had chilled his ears, and his face felt tense.
Looking towards the well-lit pathway, there was not a soul in sight.
The Samoyed sneezed, shook its white fur, and stood up, looking at him somewhat resentfully, as if sending a pleading signal.
Alex’s face softened as he crouched down and rubbed its head: "What’s wrong, sleepy?"
"Woof..."
The little guy’s voice was also weak.
"Do you miss her?" Alex asked the little fellow.
The little guy tilted his head and looked at his owner without any reaction.
Suddenly, his owner’s lips moved again.
He said, "I do."
The Samoyed looked at him for a moment, then rested its head on his lap and tried to act cute.
Alex’s gaze then shifted to his phone. He originally planned to check the time but noticed an additional little rabbit with milk-like ferocity among the new commenters.
Two minutes ago, Chloe had liked his post.

At the same time, in Southvale’s Riverside, Chloe turned off her night light, preparing to sleep.
As soon as she pulled up the covers, her phone rang.
Alex’s name flashed on the screen. She thought for a moment and answered the call.
The warm voice came through: "It’s me."
"Mmm... I know." She leaned back on the soft pillow, holding the phone in her hand.
"You’re not coming home tonight?"
Chloe blinked, then suddenly realized: "You... are you waiting for me?"
Her tone was teasing.
"What if I say yes?"
This response was unexpected for Chloe.
Indeed, the sound of the wind blowing could be heard on his end.
She was quiet for a few seconds before asking, "Why are you waiting for me?"
Her voice sounded very serious.
It seemed as though he was smiling, his voice gentle and unhurried: "Sleep well, good night."
