Chapter 209: Call Me Senior Sister
Chapter 209: Chapter 209: Call Me Senior Sister
Chapter 209
Chloe Collins propped her chin up, casually selecting a position and instantly breaking Alexander Foster’s formation, precise and ruthless.
Her somewhat immature voice nonchalantly said, "I learned from books and television."
Alexander Foster smiled, "Forget it."
"You don’t believe me?"
He didn’t respond.
She looked at him, and suddenly noticed a petal had fallen onto his hair. Next to him was an osmanthus tree in full bloom.
Chloe instinctively reached out, but was unexpectedly caught by the wrist.
She paused, then gently brushed the petal off his hair while maintaining the pose, saying, "I have a strong learning ability, I pick things up quickly."
Alexander Foster smelled the scent of osmanthus, and the petals fell onto his other hand. Understanding her intentions, he released the young lady’s hand, his expression, somewhat unnatural.
Ford smiled at Chloe, "Aren’t you being a bit immodest?"
The little girl looked up, speaking frankly, "I don’t like fake pretenses."
The corners of Alexander’s mouth unconsciously curved.
In his mind, he formed an image of a lively and attractive girl based on his feelings for her.
In the end, he lost this game of chess.
Actually, he had already anticipated the outcome later on, so he wasn’t too surprised.
Just asked Ford to pack all the fruits and some snacks sent to the house as a gift for the young lady to take away.
Chloe put the bulging bags in the basket, hoisted it on her back, cheerfully apologized to them, and turned to leave.
"Young lady."
A voice as clear as spring water suddenly came.
She turned around.
The man sitting at the chessboard did not face her directly but played with the chess pieces in his hand, softly speaking to her, "Tomorrow, let’s play another game."
Chloe thought for a moment, and since there was nothing else to do besides taking care of the medical staff, she happily agreed.
"Do you have any other stakes?"
Alexander Foster’s lips lifted slightly, "What do you want?"
Chloe raised an eyebrow, "Then you call me Senior. I’m ranked eleven, you’re ranked nineteen, it’s only appropriate."
Ford burst into laughter, "Miss, he’s several years older than you. You can’t handle being called ’sister’."
Chloe’s bright eyes flickered, "There’s nothing I can’t handle; strength has nothing to do with age."
Having said that, she happily carried her fully loaded basket, humming a little tune as she left.
...
A ’click’ sounded, and something fell.
Chloe’s hand instinctively reached out to catch it but ended up grabbing only air.
Slowly opening her eyes, she regained consciousness, looking at the night sky and listening to the soft chirping of insects outside.
It turns out it was a dream.
Or rather, it wasn’t technically a dream, as everything had genuinely happened.
After thinking for a bit, she retracted her thoughts, stretched lazily, picked up her phone off the floor, and sat up.
It was still early, barely half-past four, so she went back to her room to continue sleeping.
She slept dreamlessly until half-past seven.
She was finally roused by the sound of the doorbell.
As she went downstairs to open the door, she saw a deliveryman.
"Hello, this is the breakfast Mr. Foster ordered for you."
Chloe was somewhat dumbfounded.
She took the breakfast, said thanks, and closed the door.
As she sat down at the dining table, her eyes were still somewhat sleepy.
Resting her chin on her hand, she quietly looked at the sumptuous and exquisite breakfast, not knowing what she was thinking.
After a while, she went to wash up and came out to eat and browse on her phone at the same time.
On the messaging app, it was as lively as ever—never-ending new messages.
She glanced at it and casually clicked on a contact’s chat window.
The latest message was a link.
