Chapter 202
How could someone from the Ordinary Class possibly compete with them in the Competitive Class?
Moreover, her mother had said that this competition was a good opportunity for Tristan to forgive her. If she were surpassed by Chloe Collins, wouldn’t she lose that chance?
After some thought, she spread out the materials on her desk and took a photo of every page with her phone.
At the same time, Cherry Foster and another person had already reached downstairs.
Anders Spence’s face was full of smiles: "Cherry, where should we go on our date?"
He had always wanted to have a proper date with her, but she always brushed him off.
Cherry Foster rolled her eyes: "I was just saying that, don’t take it seriously, are you stupid or what?"
Anders Spence had a feeling this would happen, but he wanted to give it a try.
He smiled and whispered: "Why are you suddenly distancing yourself from her?"
Cherry Foster frowned: "I’m just very confused right now, I don’t know what to say. Don’t you think she’s very complicated? It seems like she only lets us see the side of her that she deliberately shows. I used to think I understood her, but now I can’t be sure."
Anders Spence lowered his gaze, falling silent for a moment before saying: "You’re talking about her framing Chloe Collins, right?"
Cherry Foster didn’t refute, so it was a silent agreement.
The two slowly walked along the tree-lined path, and after a while, Anders Spence said: "Actually, you don’t have to worry about this. She wants to get close to you just to gain a foothold in the Collinses’ house, it doesn’t matter whether she’s sincere or not."
Cherry Foster widened her eyes: "How can you say that?"
Anders Spence shrugged: "That’s just the reality. People like us, with our background, it’s impossible to have many true friends. Before, I didn’t say anything because I thought her intentions were only this much, which is very normal. But I didn’t expect her to be so calculating."
Cherry Foster sighed: "Actually, these past few days I’ve been thinking about all the bad things she’s said about Chloe Collins, and I wonder how much of it is true."
Anders Spence took the opportunity to hold her hand: "No matter if it’s true or false, we don’t have to worry about it. This is the Collinses’ problem, whatever happens between them has nothing to do with us. In the future, just don’t trust her, I’m scared she’ll use you."
Cherry Foster shook off his hand: "Am I as stupid as you say?"
Anders Spence looked at her and laughed: "You’re not stupid, you’re just naïve, easily believing whatever others say."
Cherry Foster couldn’t refute his words, so she just glared at him and walked quickly ahead.
Anders Spence hurried to catch up.

Canteen on the second floor.
At a four-seater booth, Chloe Collins and Layla Lowell sat facing each other, eating a simple meal.
Layla Lowell said: "Mr. Green told me about it, and I’ll go to the Base tonight to see what we can figure out together."
As she said it, she took a mouthful of curry-flavored rice and put it in her mouth.
Chloe Collins said: "Why not wait until the competition is over and focus on your review?"
"Ah, yes, speaking of that, I haven’t been reviewing at all these past two days, seems like I’m just here to make up the numbers," Layla Lowell pouted.
"I have some great notes that you can take a look at..." Chloe Collins lowered her head and took a bite of a meatball.
Layla Lowell laughed: "You’re always so timely, like a timely rain. Last time during the monthly exam, it was thanks to your help that I did well, or else I really wouldn’t know how to face my dad."
Chloe glanced at her and, for a moment, didn’t know what to say.
Layla Lowell was more carefree, she said directly: "When my dad was about to die, I promised him that I would pass all the exams and get into a key university. This Chemistry competition also was something he kept urging me to take, but I never did."
She held a chicken leg, took a bite, and chuckled casually: "I was pretty naughty back then, I made him upset many times."
Chloe’s calm expression wavered slightly, and she wordlessly passed her own chicken leg from her bowl to Layla’s.
