Chloe Collins narrowed her eyes, turned her head and stared at his eyes nearing her own. Such close proximity, she could almost see her reflection in his eyes.

So close of a distance, her field of vision was filled with him.

"What are you saying?"

Alexander Foster remained silent, his gaze filled with gentle light lingering on her for a moment. Slowly removing the teasing gaze, he softly said, "Good night."

The warm palm lingered at the back of her head, gently touching it before letting go.

He straightened his body and turned around to leave.

The nerve throughout Chloe’s body suddenly released the tension, her brows knitted and unable to relax.

The vague feeling she had in her heart suddenly made sense to her.

It seemed that her secret could no longer be concealed from him.

After all, he quietly guessed before that it was a woman, it was not surprising he could guess this now.

However, she would rather him not know about this.

At the moment when the man’s hand touched the doorknob, she slowly said, "That’s right, I’m a perfumer, not as Mr. Collins has said, that I can’t do anything."

Alexander Foster stopped, looking back at her.

She, however, was already walking towards him. Although she was shorter than him, her aura was just as strong.

"Even though I know how to mix scents, my skills are not very good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be just an assistant to Miles White."

She smirked slightly and looked up at him, "But I don’t want others to know about this. Since you know, just act as if you don’t."

Her gaze was fearless, calm, and even carried a touch of leisure and rebellious spirit.

This clever and playful little fox moment, in this instant, quietly provoked the man’s emotions. Something from within him began to grow, taking root in his body, pulling him closer to her.

Amidst their silent exchange of gazes, the depth of his eyes cast a soft glow, unendingly tender.

He tilted his head down, and in doing so, the tip of his nose delicately touched hers.

Chloe’s eyes momentarily glazed over. In an instant, his deep gaze once again filled her vision. The closeness between them quickly threw her off balance.

She turned and began to walk away.

The next moment, her waist was firmly supported by a large hand and he pulled her close to him.

He looked down at her, a playful smile in his eyes and said, "Fine, I promise."

With his gaze on her, Chloe found her breath catching. Her hand rested on his shoulder, slowly pushing him away, she walked past him and said, "Please leave."

Soon afterward, the sound of the door closing could be heard.

Chloe sighed in relief, her whole body relaxed.

Her mind was a mess, so she picked up her clothes and went to take a shower.

Deep into the night, the light in Alexander Foster’s study was still on.

Ford stood by and, seeing him going through some documents, asked, "Those are questions from recent Chemistry competitions. Young Master, you didn’t major in this field. Can you still remember it?"

Alexander Foster shuffled through the papers, and with his head down, replied, "No problem."

He casually placed the documents on one side and said, "On Fire’s end, is there still no one willing to take the order?"

Ford nodded, "Yes Young Master, it’s as if this organization holds a grudge against you and doesn’t even want to make money."

Because of his Aunt Emma Foster’s incident, Alexander has been investigating the Dark Alliance, thus, generally wouldn’t place orders with them.

Currently, the only investigative organization capable of opposing the Dark Alliance is Fire.

This organization is equally mysterious, however, unlike the Dark Alliance, it doesn’t stoop low, has a smaller scale, and doesn’t have the internal chaos.

Hence, Alexander had people contact them.

Previously, when two people sent by the Dark Alliance sabotaged Layla Lowell’s laboratory, he wanted to investigate this matter relating to Layla Lowell, hoping to find some clues.
