Chapter 178
The Fosters’ residence was extraordinarily large. She, wearing a formal dress and high heels, walked for seven or eight minutes before she saw the main gate of the East Wing.
The gate was unlocked, and she could enter directly.
The style of the East Wing was completely different from that of the West Wing. This side had a warm and elegant charm, like a folk song. It was a style she liked.
Holding her wide skirt, she walked slowly, her breathing growing more rapid.
Her whole body was in a state of excitement.
This was the place she had dreamed of marrying into.
The best family, the most outstanding man.
All would be hers.
She had already found out from her cousin Cherry Foster that Alexander Foster typically lived alone in his own building, only joining the family for meals.
So, she quickly passed by the Main Building and went directly to the courtyard next door.
As soon as she entered, she saw a Samoyed wagging its pink tail, playing fetch all by itself. As soon as it turned its head, it bared its teeth at her, the dog completely on guard.
Raine Nolan was startled and didn’t know what to do when suddenly, a man walked inside.
The man had just finished taking a shower, his messy black hair clinging to the contours of his deep-set face, with droplets of water falling off. He wore a loose bathrobe over his well-proportioned, inverted-triangle body. His fair skin did not make him appear soft or gentle, but rather, added an aloofness and coldness that seemed unapproachable.
He was holding a bottle of water, about to drink, when his eyes met Raine’s, his brows furrowing.
"Who let you in?"
His cold voice, completely distant.
Raine’s gaze was locked on his impressive chest muscles, her tongue tied and eyes flustered, "I... I... I came to find my cousin."
"Get out."
Alexander averted his gaze and walked further in with his water, apparently not believing her words.
Caught off guard by the dismissal, Raine summoned the courage to follow him.
"Mr. Foster, please wait, I have something to tell you."
As her words trailed off, she let out a yelp, twisted her ankle, and fell to the ground, wincing in pain.
Alexander glanced at her coldly, "Get out."
Raine was startled, isn’t he supposed to come over and help her up?
She didn’t care anymore, and just blurted it out.
"Camille and my cousin know each other well, and Camille personally said that it was my cousin who suggested she work for Alan Foster!"
Alexander’s handsome face clouded with emotion, its intent unclear.
By now, Raine had gotten up, her face full of righteous indignation.
Seeing that Alexander remained quiet, she continued, "Although she’s my cousin, I have to stand for what is right. She’s living in your house, yet she’s helping someone else. That’s completely inappropriate, especially when you treat her so well."
The man replied coldly, "Really?"
His words were light and shallow, conveying complete indifference.
Raine couldn’t read his thoughts at all.
"Mr. Foster, are you not angry? She’s biting the hand that feeds her."
"I think you should send her away!"
The man’s icy eyes lazily lifted, his voice cold and clear, "Who gave you the audacity to come here and dictate to me?"
The casual tone carried an intimidating force capable of crushing anyone.
Raine’s heart was pounding, but she gritted her teeth and said, "I know it’s presumptuous and impolite for me to do this, but I just can’t stand it anymore. I can’t stand my cousin acting so recklessly, completely lacking mature behavior, acting as if she owns this place, doing whatever she pleases!"
The man chuckled lightly, his handsome face covered in a faint trace of sinister coldness. His cold gaze and melodious, chilling voice looked down on the girl below the stairs, "In my home, of course she can do whatever she wants. If you can’t stand it, get out."
