Chapter 1625

Tristan Collins was in the midst of consideration.

The Secretary couldn’t help but bend over and whisper in his ear, "Sir, even if you don’t do this, Young Miss will save Madam anyway."

He’d followed Tristan Collins to the Fosters’ early in the morning, thinking it was some urgent business, only to find out that Tristan was willing to give up the Collinses to save Joy Taylor.

Just moments ago, he had doubted whether Tristan had lost his mind.

Even without the company, a daughter would save her mother.

He understood this logic; why couldn’t Tristan see it?

Tristan waved a hand dismissively, signaling for him to stand aside; clearly, he wasn’t taking in the words.

"Alright, I agree," he said, looking at Chloe, and nodded.

The Secretary was shocked and couldn’t believe it!

Chloe’s eyes, too, were wrapped in a layer of astonishment.

She was just teasing him with her words.

Could it be that he had realized she was joking, and that’s why he agreed so casually?

"Okay then, let’s sign the agreement today," she said, raising her voice.

Tristan showed no emotion and instructed the Secretary, "Prepare the relevant documents, call a Shareholders’ Meeting, I want to announce this."

"Mr. Collins, this..."

"Just do it!"

"Forget it, I’m not interested," Chloe said, her playful mood gone and her interest spoiled.

Taking over a company under these circumstances didn’t give her any sense of achievement; it just added to her stress.

"As for other partnerships, you can talk to my husband about them. As for my mother’s situation, I will naturally handle it," she said lightly before standing up and leaving the Conference Room.

Alexander Foster looked at Tristan Collins and said, "Mr. Collins, you should understand her temperament. If she says she doesn’t want something, it’s not because she’s afraid to take it, it’s because she doesn’t value it."

Tristan felt unsettled inside.

"Moreover, the Collinses is not just your personal conquest; it bears the hard work of several generations of your ancestors. You don’t have the right to hand it over to someone else on a platter."

The Secretary quickly added, "Mr. Collins, Mr. Foster is right. The company is so large, and there are many complications; you should really think it over."

Tristan’s gaze swept over them coldly, and he said, "I know what I’m doing, you don’t need to remind me."

After thinking for a moment, he said to Alexander Foster, "Later, I will have the Vice President contact you about the vaccine issue. Theramend Collins will fully cooperate with you."

"Pleasant cooperation," Alexander Foster extended his hand.

Tristan frowned slightly, shook his hand out of politeness, and then left.

The Secretary quickly followed him.

Alexander Foster watched their retreating figures, his face showing a hint of relief.

Not only because he had resolved the pharmaceutical issue but also for Chloe.

Not long after Tristan left, Alexander Foster returned to his office.

As soon as he entered, he saw Chloe busy in front of the computer, searching for something.

After observing the computer screen for some time, he fell into thought.

He walked up behind her, bent down to kiss her, and asked, "Still thinking about what happened earlier?"

Chloe’s gaze was distant as she murmured, "If everything he said is true, then where could my mom be now?"

Alexander glanced at the computer and discovered she was actually searching for surveillance records from Theodore Collins’ boarding school and the surrounding area.

"Over two years have passed; the records have been overwritten," he gently reminded her.

Chloe looked down, "I just wanted to see if she’s shown up recently."

"She only went to see your brother and hasn’t come to see you," she said.

"She must know how keen your senses are, afraid you’d discover her, that’s why she dares not visit," he said.

"I know, but I’m just wondering if she really hasn’t appeared around me at all?"
